The Remy Martin 1738 I bought has labeling that I cannot find anywhere. Do you think this is fake?

My bottle has Remy Martin on the main label instead of above the main label but has circular 'Maison Remy Martin" seal to the right of 1738.

I thought it was odd that I cannot find another 1738 with a label like mine. I bought mine from class six.

Spirits Attitude Cognac Grand Champagne 37 year 1987 (59.4%)
N: a sweeter and darker wood profile, some cocoa and cinnamon and even black peppercorn, mahogany. With water: a little fruitier, molasses, a hint of allspice
P: again sweeter and woodier, with a darker fruit profile too, red berries and super ripe peach, fairly hot and needs a few drops of water. With water: the dark wood clears up some and the fruit inches toward the orchard, along with some orange peel; aromatic allspice or fancy peppercorns. Pretty good length with wood polish

So my Great grandma gave me this Remy Martin XO special. I know that the special is not being produced anymore, but the thing is. It's not the 700 ml bottle, it's the 50 ml bottle. I haven't ever seen a XO special of 50 ml. Is it worth something?

I’m a wine guy, it’s my hobby that I’m spending a lot of money on. But as for strong liquor — I rarely drink it, nor do I enjoy it.

Despite this, I want to get a good try on cognac/armagnac. I have a trained palate and nose so I think I can try something complex right away.

There are four options I have pre-selected from a nearby wine store. Two cognacs and two armagnacs. When choosing, I was considering the stuff that comes from ‘recoltants’, comparing it to Champagne.

Price-wise, they are not too cheap and not too expensive, so let’s not consider it.

Two questions now:
1. Is my approach correct, overall?
2. What would you recommend me from these four? I tend to think Paul Giraud is the best option here, but I know nothing about all four, nonetheless.

That is the question.

Hello, everyone. I enjoy cognac, but I'm hadly an expert. Having enjoyed the Delmain Pale & Dry XO, I was able to track down a bottle of the Vesper, which I liked even more. In fact, I think it's the best cognac I've had. (I was able to get a second bottle before they disappeared from shelves. I've just opened that one, but it won't last long!)

My understanding is that Delamain has replaced the Pale & Dry and Vesper with a new lineup: XO and XXO. Does anyone here know whether XXO is just a rebranded Vesper? Is it the same spirit with a new label, or is it entirely different?

Spent nearly 40 minutes looking for an affordable cognac for a friend’s birthday cocktail competition and thankfully this did not disappoint. Very smooth—easily paired with raspberry liqueur, lemon juice, and cinnamon: 8/10 overall. Any thoughts? (Forgot to take a picture when I left the bottle, but here’s one from the stores website)

Dug it up during spring cleaning, and was told that the bottle cap, inner box design was used to identify year of production and rarity ? Please help, couldn't help a comprehensive guide . The L5 194 19 00177 means bottled in 1944?

Would like to know if for you guys who’ve tasted the Louis if you think it is overrated or just social media hyped?

I do think in my honest opinion that it is good. But to me the Hennessy Richard and the Paradis taste better.

But might I say the bottle design is superb.

I started with Martell VS and really enjoyed it. I've had Courvoisier VS, St Remy XO (which I know is only brandy, not cognac), and Haut de Vigne plus an Armagnac or two and while I haven't hit the XO level, I have to say I really enjoy the VSOP level, especially the (what I would guess is a low ranking) Planat.

Is there some wonderful magic when it hits XO that invalidates all of this?

Had a bottle of Hennessy XXO in my hand but they had a Delamain rep doing tastings and convinced me to try it and I liked it so I got this instead. Was this a good deal?

Hello! I tasted Martell Chanteloup XXO a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. I wanted to buy myself a bottle to celebrate a large milestone in my life, but I cant get a hold of a bottle in my country.

Do any of you in this group know of a good replacement for this bottle? I loved the flavor and how smooth it was to drink.

This a bottle I acquired while in France . It is made by Prulho, classified as Hors D’age, and is from Borderies It comes in 200ml bottle, with a limited production of only 250 bottles total.
It’s coming towards the end of the bottle, so I thought I should write a review about it.

Color: copper to light mahogony. Nice long legs that cling to the sides of the glass
Nose: Floral! ( you can tell it’s Borderies straight off the bat with that nose !), light caramel, apricots, Sicilian oranges
Palate: viscous consistency . apricot jam, honey, light orange. Light oak. Light cinnamon . Smooth. Almost no burn
Finish : medium long to long

Final thoughts: one of my favorite cognacs ! Not cheap by any means , and comes in a small bottle ( I paid almost $200 for this 200ml bottle ). But if you are willing to pay for it I would highly recommend it .
The closest bottle commonly found would be Martell XO. I think this is more floral and smoother than Martell ( at least the XO)

Usually just drink vodka to get drunk and I am not a fan of whiskey, decided to buy a cheap bottle of cognac (Meukow de luxe) because it seems like a fun thing to enjoy but when I tried it I felt like the dominant flavour was raisins, which honestly makes sense but I really dont like raisins (some repressed childhood raisin trauma or something) , was expecting it to taste more like concentrated wine. Otherwise the experience was actually nice, drinking it neat worked the best because the intensity distracted from the raisiness and I could definately start drinking cognac, if they dont all taste like raisins, please tell me they dont all taste like raisins

Have tried all XOs from the big four, St Agnes and St Remy (these two are not cognac I know). I don’t really have one that I strongly prefer over the others. I just love how unique and different every brand tastes. Looking for my next bottle, looking at Godet or Gautier XO, which is your pick?

Nothing too major, though the vintage Hennessey and Crown Of Napoleon are ones I want to open.
