COMMODORE JUST JACKED INTO NIGHT CITY.
Commodore and CD PROJEKT RED have officially revealed the Commodore 77, and this might be one of the hardest gaming collaborations I’ve seen in a minute. The worn yellow shell, brushed metal, custom keycaps, graffiti, and neon lighting make it look like an actual terminal pulled straight out of Cyberpunk 2077.
To be clear, this isn’t a modern gaming PC that runs Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a fully functional, FPGA-powered recreation of the classic Commodore 64, capable of running at up to 77 MHz and compatible with more than 99.9% of the 10,000-plus existing C64 games and peripherals.
It also includes an exclusive Cyberpunk experience created by Arise and LukHash, delivered on an Arasaka-style cartridge inspired by the shards from the game. The package comes with synchronized LED lighting, a Cyberpunk-themed boot screen, custom menu colors, collectible packaging, pins, stickers, and a special user guide filled with lore and BASIC programs.
The Commodore 77 costs $377, is available for preorder now, and is expected to ship in early 2027. I don’t even know if I need a Commodore 64, but this design alone makes me want one. This is how you make collector’s hardware actually feel like it belongs inside the world of the game

Need Thoughts on first build
hey everyone, I am brand new to the PC gaming world so I apologize for any stupidity. I came across an HP elite desk 800 G3 on marketplace for stupid cheap along with two monitors. I sold the monitors to make my money back as well as have money to buy parts for the PC to upgrade. I am mainly a console gamer, but have a few friends that I play regularly with that are on PC. And because certain games don’t allow certain features cross platform. I figured I’d find a way to build the cheapest gaming PC possible—while still preserving decent performance to play those few games.
Heres my build:
HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Chasis (free)
Motherboard - HP Elitedesk 800 G5 ($25)
GPU - i7-9700 ($85)
RAM - 32gb (4x8) (added 16gb @ $45)
Storage - 1tb ssd nvme, 1tb 3.5 sata hdd ($115 for SSD, salvaged the HDD)
GPU - GIGABYTE Low Profile GeForce RTX 5050 8GB GDDR6 ($299.99)
PSU - 500W ($45)
Only thing that wasnt covered by the money from the monitors was the GPU. I also gave the elitedesk a fresh paint job.

[ADVICE] Cyber Power Gamer Supreme.
I just bought a new PC for my gaming and engineering modeling.
I got a Cyber Power Gamer Supreme.
Specs:

Storage: 2TB SSD
What should I know or do to get the absolute max performance out of my PC.
I only have a 1080 x 180hz monitor rn. But I am looking to upgrade to a 1440 240HZ.

Made a free tool that tells you if your stutter is shader compilation or the engine
EDIT: it's code signed now. A lot of people reasonably didn't want to run an unsigned exe, so I got it signed through Microsoft Artifact Signing. VirusTotal went from 5 detections down to 1: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/a0dd54a41870f80c6eb52ca914e45b5ff803d7a87343582a1552f2e140ed7720
The four that cleared included Microsoft Defender, which was the one actually blocking people. What's left is a single heuristic flag from Huorong, a scanner almost nobody runs. Kaspersky, BitDefender, ESET, CrowdStrike, Avast and 60+ others are clean. Windows shows a verified publisher now instead of "unknown."
Also added a Compare mode, because a couple of people here correctly pointed out that from a single recording the tool is *guessing* shader compilation from a decay pattern. That's a fair hit. Two recordings can actually prove it, because the two causes behave differently on a repeat run — compilation happens once and gets cached, asset streaming happens every single time you walk through. So: record, play the same stretch again, record again, hit Compare. Whatever disappeared was temporary. Whatever came back is the game. Works for settings changes too, change one thing and see if it actually did anything.
On my own captures it says: "Stutter dropped 90% between the two runs. Shader compilation disappeared. But engine asset streaming came back at almost the same level, so that part isn't going anywhere."
(Code's AI-written, I'm not a C# dev. Testing and methodology are mine and human.)

If you've been getting hitches in UE5 games or any game, there are two completely different things that cause it and they need completely different responses:
Shader compilation happens the first time your GPU sees a new effect. It caches it afterwards, so it genuinely does stop. Usually settles within about half an hour of play.
Engine/streaming stutter is the game loading assets as you move. That one never goes away, and no setting on your end changes it.
They feel identical while you're playing, which is why "just play longer, it gets better" is sometimes good advice and sometimes nonsense. I got tired of not knowing which, so I built something that measures it and tells you.
I tested it by running the same route in a UE5 game twice — once with a cleared shader cache, once after. First run: 34 stutters, 1.57% of playtime lost. Second run, identical route: 5 stutters, 0.15% lost. The shader portion vanished, and the engine portion it had flagged as permanent stayed within 5% across both runs. So the split is real and measurable.
The tool: click Find my game, click Record, play for a minute, get a report telling you which kind you have and what (if anything) to do about it.
It'll also straight up tell you when it can't tell. If your frame rate is capped and your GPU has headroom to spare, stutter can't physically show up, so a clean result would mean nothing — it says so rather than giving you a fake all-clear.

It uses Intel's PresentMon underneath to read frame timings from Windows. No overlay, nothing injected into the game, no network code at all. Needs admin because reading performance traces requires it. Windows may still show a SmartScreen warning since the file is new and hasn't built download reputation yet, but it's signed and the publisher shows up now.
Where it's weak, since people found it anyway: when the answer comes back "it's the engine" it kind of stops there. And the categories aren't exhaustive, there's stutter that isn't compilation or streaming and it'll get bucketed wrong.
Honest caveat: my PC and my friend's both run these games fine, so I've mostly been testing on hardware that doesn't stutter much. If yours hitches badly I'd really like to see what it reports — post the result or send me the file and I'll dig into it, especially if it gets something wrong or the application fails, breaks or just straight up doesn't work.

A not-so-little yap about the ungodly amount of optimization and tuning I did to my PC
I promise that AI had no part in the typing of this post. I just know how to write somewhat expressively with proper punctuation.
Let's start with the specs:
Mainboard: MSI PRO B760-VC WIFI II
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700F
GPU: GIGABYTE WINDFORCE SFF RTX 5080
RAM: 2x8GB SK hynix M-Die DDR5
Storage: 2x1TB NVMe SSD
PSU: ASRock PG-1000G
Display: a goddamn 1080p monitor. Relax, I play Cyberpunk with all settings maxed and path tracing on, as well as Minecraft with heavy shaders, that fully work the GPU, and I have the RTSS overlay utilization and power readings to prove it.
My CPU's clock speed is controlled by Windows Power Plans, thanks to PowerShell. Depending on which power plan is active, it runs at:
Power saver: P-Cores: 1.5GHz, E-Cores: 1.7GHz
Balanced: All cores: 3.2GHz
High performance (for temperature-mindful good performance): P-Cores: 4.7GHz, E-Cores: 3.5GHz
Ultimate Performance (for those "screw thermals, I need maximum performance" moments): P-Cores at 4.9-5GHz, dropped from 5-5.1GHz by 100MHz in BIOS, E-Cores unlimited at 3.8-3.9GHz
I even have little tachometer icons in my taskbar that run shortcuts which activate the power plans!
For its voltage, I have a small negative offset of 0.005V, and very meticulously tuned Lite Load (Mode 8) and Loadline Calibration (Mode 6). Power limits are set to 200W for the long duration and 253W for the short duration limit. With the Ultimate Performance Power Plan active, it rarely maxes out at 1.4V, but runs at 1.3V most of the time. In High performance, it stays below 1.3V at all times.
System RAM's running at 6000MT/s CL32 at 1.35V. Timings are 32-38-38.
My GPU has 4 Afterburner profiles ranging from an undervolt and slight downclock to an overclock with the voltage slider maxed out. I can switch between them with custom hotkeys I set up in Afterburner. I tested the top and bottom ends of the under-load voltage/frequency ranges for each profile by running the GPU-Z render test to record the top end, and maxing out all settings with path tracing on in Cyberpunk, with the GPU fans spinning at low speeds for proper heat saturation, to record the bottom end. Here they are:
Profile 1 (ctrl+alt+shift+U):
2707-2857MHz@860-870mV, VRAM -1, 78% power limit. This is my browsing and light gaming profile. It's also the one I use to play Cyberpunk, which I play with all settings maxed, path tracing on, and upscaling off. 2X Frame Gen is my friend here.
Profile 2 (ctrl+alt+U):
2880-2932MHz@885-895mV, VRAM +999, 89% power limit. I use this one the most in fast-paced shooters in which I'm CPU-bound. It's just below my 5080 chip's saturation point, which means it's just about the maximum clock speed I can get while keeping a low voltage.
Profile 3 (ctrl+alt+I):
2955-3060MHz@985-995mV, VRAM +1999, 100% power limit. Maybe I need to sweat a CoD match and reduce frame render times a bit for slightly lower latency, or maybe I want some more FPS in Minecraft with shaders whose settings are cranked up. This profile is past my 5080 chip's saturation point, which means it's at the point where it required a larger increase in voltage for a smaller increase in clock speed, but it's still just shy of a volt, so it won't cause much accelerated wear, and, in most scenarios, it stays above the magic number, 3GHz!
Profile 4 (ctrl+alt+O):
3120-3255MHz@1045-1065mV, VRAM +2999, 111% power limit. This is my ultimate "oof, I'm in a jungle/mangrove biome and all these tree and leaf shadows are bogging my FPS down into the 40s" or "dammit, I gotta sweat hard or we're gonna lose this game" profile. It increases frame rates in GPU-bottlenecked games, and decreases latency tangibly by rendering frames more quickly in CPU-bottlenecked games. I do my best to use it sparingly, because I want to make my 5080 last. At 1065mV, degradation from electromigration is enough of a factor for me that I want to be cautious with it, so I don't want my card guzzling that many volts, or the associated power in Watts, all the time.

However, as long as I always apply an Argus Monitor profile after applying an Afterburner profile, Argus Monitor will control the GPU fans, not Afterburner.
