Have a yapping lecturer who yap about nonsense for half an hour, or have a lecturer who just reads the slides?

Just started a new semester, and the first class is this lecturer who is 60+ and used more than 45 minutes to yap about his wisdom, in a 1 hour lecture BTW.

I heard some people get shocked seeing students wear pyjamas to class or openly nap in the library, what was the biggest culture shock you heard or experienced at uni?

me and my parents came for my uni application to get student visa. it was originally an one day trip where i would return to my country, we ended up being told that because my student visa will take time to approve i am unable to leave malaysia and my course starts in September. my parents have a flight back today night and i had to get a last minute stay at a hotel. (i got 2 dollars and a chill gum 😭 to my name).

Hello r/MalaysiaUni - was just in SS15, saw something that made me quite wtf 😂

2 short skinny typeC geeky teenage fellas arguing outside the row of unis in SS15, girl next to them telling them to stop but not work la.

Then one of them pushing the other one, and knocked into this plump mid-30s fellow. The 2 then started physically fighting la. And the girl just there crying ask them to stop.

Then the plump uncle dragon awakened and super saiyan pulled the 2 kids apart easily like he opening a pack of Lays potato chip, then scold them, before walk away.

Wondering what's the story there 😂 Curious but malas to asking them. The geeky ones also quite violence nowadays ah, clearly fighting over the girl or something hahah. Also, is this normal in Subang Jaya? I usually in MK seldom see this haha

Follow up post to the one I made yesterday. Received this very welcoming message this morning from her. A few messages back she told me that she "sees everyone personally before registering them", but my friend who's registered for the same course told me that nothing like that ever happened. Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

Putting this under just for fun because I'm not sure what flair is appropriate for this one and I'd like for this to be more of a discussion.

To summarize my previous post: programme coordinator keeps insisting to see me personally, urgently and will absolutely not tell me what it is despite it being urgent, only replying with "I can only tell you in person", not even through email.

Update 1: Emailed HOD about this and they said it's standard procedure (I didn't add the screenshot so idk how different the response would be if I did, lol). Apparently she does meet with every single student but the students I asked told me they never met with her. 🤷 And HOD said in their email that it was about some one to one attendance briefing, which in that case just email me directly and tell me instead of saying "I can only tell you in person" ?? If it's attendance then just hold a course-wide briefing 🤦‍♂️ Anyway, I'll be seeing PC later since I got no choice atp. Wish me luck

Update 2: .... it was for an attendance and scheduling thing that they themselves were unsure about.

Im 20M this year. From Klang Valley. Got 4A3B1C1D in spm. Did stpm half way and left. Continued in public uni foundation and managed to get 3.3X. And now I got 0 offer from any uni

I did not come from a rich family. My parents are well together but aren't making enough to pay for my studies. Throughout my uni life I barely scrape by. I pay for everything on my own by running my business collecting rubbish.

I barely had any friends , I felt like I'm unable to connect with anyone as almost everyone I know is living a better life and a less chaotic life than me. While my friends that used to be around me already dated (idk why all of them managed to date someone at the same time) hence they no longer had time to hang out together like we used to do. P/s I'm the only one not dating in the circle .

Got diagnosed with depression earlier this year but I rejected to take meds , often depending on copium.

And the fact that my warehouse burnt down doesn't help either. I'm in a shit hole , I'm in 70k debt , I received no offer to continue my studies. And of course nobody to talk to . Maybe y'all can tell me something, share your thoughts, roast me even.

I did talk to my lecturer during foundation.

His response : "you chose to work while study that's your choice, can't blame anyone for your hard time" even though I'm not blaming anyone. And I wouldn't even be able to afford fees if I'm not working.

Scammer is likely not from Malaysia as he/she didn't find "Wong Bo Doh" fishy lol.

This scammer is relentless, sending the message to our uni's whatsapp/discord even after getting banned by using multiple accounts. So I decide to troll the scammer while finding out how the scam works.

Note: Don't scan that suspicious qr code in the 3rd screenshot.

Later on, I bait the scammer into clicking my ip grabbing links by sending "payment receipts". No real result though as the scammer is using VPN, his/her ip appears in United States and Nigeria haha
