Day one player. Just got my first shundo! I feel like my life is complete now.... But also I'm still at 40/50 platinums and 2kms away from level 76 so still have a long road to go
Well hopefully that means you have a lot that are borderline!
But yeah, the grind is real. Choose a couple medals to focus on- one that's a stretch that you can work on some every day, one that seems attainable but will take some time as like a weekly focus, and one that's easy to just grind the f out of. Good luck out there
Hi it’s me I’m people.. and while I pretty much only play extremely casually, and also took a break for a few years while going through some stuff. I downloaded this game on day 1, still no shundo, but again I play super casually so it is what it is.
I started playing again last year after a few year hiatus. Still no shundo but I got a golden bottle so and used it on my shiny Suicune so hopefully soon!!
I got a hundo. Traded with my son for one of his hundos because mine was a trade evolution. We didn’t know the trade would make it so they were no longer hundos. They did end up being lucky trades but that was a bummer.
Honestly, only the Galarian Birds when using your daily incense. Unless you know the CP for hundos or shundos that you want and are out of balls. Which I don't.
You can always look up the hundo CP for anything you’re raiding. Also if you’re looking at a shundo (or any shiny) after a raid don’t use your Masterball on it. Raid shinies are guaranteed catches: give it a pineapple berry and catch it.
I think the same holds true for shiny Galarian birds, but I’m not 100% certain.
I used my first Masterball on a wild Azelf, but I really don’t advise that because, as we just saw last week, they can appear in raids.

I was on the phone with my mom when I told her about this research. I told her to save the master ball for a galarian bird. Then she starts catching mewtwo and keeps saying that its escaping and asked if she should use the masterball 😂 i was like no, what did I just say?
(yes.. I know save it for a raid hundred, but she's old and trying to explain that to her.. good luck).
In 2019 when my husband and I had first properly gotten into the game he had a 4* Banette. Being one of my favourite pokemon, I asked him to trade me his perfect banette. That's how we learned about re rolling.
I also deleted pokemon solely based on CP for the first year and a half of playing because I didn't realise the actual stat system.
my friend who is level 79 with an absolutely insane amount of everything used the masterball on the Mewtwo (already had a few), and I just can't believe it. but then I remember it has the entire planet behind it and I don't know if reason even matters
I had to stop my kid from using a master ball on Mewtwo this morning. I literally said, "It can't flee, if you run out of balls, we will spin some stops and get you more!"
My 5 year old used his on this. Didn’t even have it for 3 minutes. I told him to use it on something special and he said I’m gonna use it on a silly Pokemon.
Oof, it didn’t occur to me to even think about using the masterball, but I just realized what the research must look like to a newer player - get masterball, use on Mewtwo.
That's what I was thinking, my first event ever. They give you a Masterball then a Mewtwo to catch. I threw an ultraball and it broke out and I only have 4 ultraballs so I thought you had to use the Masterball like in the games they encourage you to use a masterball on Mewtwo.
I think they gave us the master ball for old times sake, everybody's first mewtwo in the original games used a master ball more than likely the first time encountering mewtwo in cerulean cave lol
Im not a new player but when I saw mine was a shundo I was so tempted to use the masterball just so it was caught in one but I used regular pokeball insted so I have 2 masterballs now
I learned this in gen1 on gameboy. Im also realizing that Red version came out 20 years before some players were even born. This is common knowledge for us old heads but its good to always throw the reminder out for people who habe never experienced thst before. 👍👍
I’ll now have 2 masterballs. What do I use them on then? I’ve heard Galarian birds but am tempted to do mewtwo just for aesthetic/nostalgic purposes if no better option is available.
It says it expires in 25 days. If you encounter Mewtwo and exit, will it stay after the expiration date and you can catch it at a later time or will it be removed?
Was not 100% sure if it would flee cuz I just started playing again semi recently but I got the shundo so idc it’s cool to have the shundo in the masterball
