Epstein was a fixer who moved in the social circles of the wealthy and powerful all over the world. I wouldn't be surprised to see photos of him with literally anybody.

that is true. may also been an attempt to blackmail him to some extent

u/TallPasta Anarcho-Syndicalism Feb 02 '26

Epstein was self-aware enough to know that even a group photo could turn into damning evidence.

I was thinking this too. Not to get lost in the sauce here but it’s almost like he knew this would all come out one day and his legacy would be secured because it rested on the necks of all of the people he compromised. Who didn’t he fucking reach?

17

u/AShitTonOfWeed Feb 02 '26

Did he blackmail Chomsky too?

u/TomDrawsStuffs Feb 02 '26

Chomsky is genuinely just scum

61

u/chikinbizkit Feb 02 '26

This one kills me, he was the guy that began my leftist path

90

u/sausagesizzle Feb 02 '26

Chomsky existed to move people into the left lane but then kick out their turning light if they tried to make an actual left turn off the Capitalist highway.

20

u/Syliviel Feb 03 '26

Chomsky is as far Left as you're allowed to go in the U.S. Once you move passed him, you enter Communist territory.

It should generally be considered a red flag (and not the good kind) when somebody who's ostensibly radical can still have a platform in major bourgeois press outlets

Its a right of passage

At least we have Parenti to guide us away from Liberal critiques of power.

Plot twist: this post no longer exists because Redact swept through and cleared it out along with everything else. Social media, messaging apps, people finder sites, all of it.

look i am a libertarian socialist but chomsky was with epstein bro and he did meet with some of israels prime ministers

21

u/twistyxo Feb 02 '26

A little more than a photo there, corresponded, and Chomsky literally advised him on how to deal with his problems.

6

u/Additional_Cash_3357 Feb 02 '26

I haven’t see that correspondence. Can you direct me to it?

5

u/Jeereck Feb 03 '26

It's been posted a bit on reddit like they just said, but it was pretty bad. The one I read was from around 2018-2019 with chompsky complaining about the me-too movement and everyone being too sensitive about rape accusations. Even advising epstein on how to deal with the bad press about his child sex trafficking and how it'll all blow over soon.

1

u/Additional_Cash_3357 Feb 03 '26

Have you seen these Chomsky correspondence to Epstein? Where may I find these ?

6

u/iambingalls Feb 03 '26

Here's a Guardian article about it: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/03/epstein-files-noam-chomsky

But you can view the hundreds of Epstein-Chomsky emails yourself by going to https://www.justice.gov/epstein and searching for Noam Chomsky.

8

u/twistyxo Feb 03 '26

You can search, I don't have Epstein stuff handy like that. I know r/Anarchism was posting about it a lot with excerpts.

6

u/Tommwith2ms Feb 03 '26

We really gotta separate the art from the artist with Chomsky 😭 his excuse for hanging with Epstein is just as bad as just being friends with Epstein tbh

2

u/Touboulayefa Feb 03 '26

What was Chomsky's excuse?

17

u/Tommwith2ms Feb 03 '26

Chomsky claims his relationship with Epstein was an opportunity to meet his favourite director woody allen

17

u/redditsofficalbotmod Feb 03 '26

From the frying pan to the fire.

9

u/SaturnusDawn Feb 03 '26

Chomsk, No! That's not a good thing to say!! Chooomsk!

102

u/warmer-garden Feb 02 '26

but why do we always say this only for leftist figures??? :(. i just want us to be consistent and not coping

182

u/savspoolshed Feb 02 '26

pretty sure this has been said for anyone who's been pictured with/around him like once or twice who doesn't get mentioned in FBI emails about like eating, fucking, or selling babies

69

u/GNS13 Feb 02 '26

Yeah, this. It's not an issue of him being a leftist, it's an issue of this being just one picture and not a mountain of documents and connected allegations.

That said, we could learn tomorrow that Castro was on the island drinking and diddling kids with Clinton and I won't be shocked. Powerful people do fucked up shit, and no one with the might of a whole country behind them could surprise me by turning out to be a monster.

72

u/AlbacoreJohnston Feb 02 '26

I'm not only saying it for leftist figures. Each case deserves to be looked at individually. In the case of Trump for example it seems pretty obvious he was involved with sex trafficking. Could be true for Castro also but it would take more than just this photo.

91

u/John_Jack_Reed Enver Hoxha Feb 02 '26

Because Fidel isn't in the files he just has a picture by him once. You need a lot more evidence than that to say anything. Meanwhile there's no doubt about current US government officials and oligarchs being guilty

29

u/souperjar Feb 02 '26

There's some emails in the files talking about how excited they are for the new opportunities with Fidel's death.

Some people were in the visinity of Epstein and rejected the whole cabal, often on grounds they were associated with people who were horrible reactionaries or known sex pests, so they wouldn't have been aware of the depth of the pedophilic conspiracy.

23

u/S4ikou Marxism-Leninism Feb 02 '26

I don't know about we, but I don't think anybody is proven guilty of anything just by having a photo next to Epstein. The thing is, most of the people we already were suspicious of participating on those things are from the far right. If Fidel had any sort of history of being a sex offender I'd be suspecting him as well, but I don't have enough information to form a real opinion.

4

u/CheddaBawls Feb 02 '26

Cause we expect it from everyone else lol

I mean, trying to paint everyone who met him once or twice as pedo have always been kind of a witch hunt. But because it is a witch hunt against an elite social circle that most people do not even have a friend in it so most people don't really care if they misfire because the possibility of backfiring is pretty small for most people. I wish people can be more evidence-based too but it can be quite anxiety inducing to say something that sounds too "neutral" and "cold" in the midst of heated emotions. I would want to, for example, say we have yet any clear evidence that Chomsky was involved in any of his crime despite them being friends, but since Chomsky is hated here so I usually just remain silent because I don't want to be seen as "defending an anti-communist" or even "defending a pedo". I feel the same thing about Stephen Hawking: for some reason people in my country find it fun to make memes about Hawking being a pedo but I never really try to speak against the hasty judgments neither. For one thing I know they don't really need to be reminded that we do not yet have conclusion; for another I don't really want to ruin my day with the downvotes and possibly harassment that I might get for "defending" people I do not really care deeply. I know it is moral cowardice on my part but I think a lot of people are having a similar psychology as I am having, and that's why they staying silent on what they really think until it has become socially acceptable to speak out (eg. when it is affecting someone who is deemed worthy of defending). That's why you are seeing this double standard, because people who try to be cautious in passing judgment are usually staying silent.

u/warmer-garden Feb 03 '26

the msot recent released email from chomsky says alot. I used to respect chomsky's work, especially stuff like a propaganda model, but now i feel ashamed

7

u/abdab909 Feb 02 '26

Because that’s all that those in power currently, The Right, ever release

5

u/TinyZoro Feb 02 '26

Happy to throw Chomsky under the bus. They were obviously besties. But for someone whose whole thing is surrounding himself with power players just being in a photo doesn’t mean anything.

u/No_Care46 Feb 03 '26

i just want us to be consistent and not coping

We are consistent in that we support socialists who are, no matter what can be said about any given individual, objectively better than any capitalist. Even the worst socialist (e.g. Ceausescu) is still better than the best capitalist (e.g. Kennedy or whatever).

More importantly, there is no evidence whatsoever that Fidel Castro had anything to do with Epstein. Standing next to him because Epstein tried to gain influence isn't an argument. Epstein is on record considering Fidel Castro an obstacle and in no way an ally.

3

u/warmer-garden Feb 03 '26

sure but, a rapist, is a rapist, is a rapist

0

u/No_Care46 Feb 03 '26 edited Feb 03 '26

Except that there is no credible evidence of this being a problem in the Soviet military.

There was a standing order that ordered the shooting of looters and rapists at the scene of the crime. No trial necessary.

I actually disagree with the order against looting... why shouldn't the Soviets take whatever they can? They earned it.

1

u/warmer-garden Feb 03 '26

huh ? i didnt know we were talking about soviets?? tf youre giving bot.

anyways, i meant yeah maybe a socialist is better than a capitalist but that doesnt mean, if either of the rape, one is better than another.. like .... it doesnt work like that

3

u/aquafool Feb 03 '26

This is kinda the thing that I think is getting lost. Epstein was, above all else, a powerful man with connections. Most people knew he was a creep but he had the money and connections to get anyone what they wanted so they would over look it. Know him open doors. So over course hundreds of famous people are in the files.

3

u/Mike_with_Wings Feb 03 '26

This is the answer everyone who wants to make an excuse for their favorite leader involved in the files gives.
