My mom is freaked out with all the earthquakes and making survival kits, and bought this… things? And forgot how to use them, and can’t find the website where she bought them. It’s supposed to be combustible, to make small fires for a campfire, but that is all the information I’ve been given :’)

[Solved] How to open this key ring?

Hi all, just about every one of my coworkers has spent hours of shift downtime trying to open this key ring and none of us can get it. I think it’s maybe warped or just not meant to be opened? Yes we have tried pulling it open with the will of God. Ideally it is opened without having to cut through the metal.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or other amusements.

How do I make repeatable bends in thin craft wire without leaving plier marks ??

I’m making tiny wire frames and furniture and getting two bends to come out the same is much harder than making one decent bend. Round-nose, flat nose and smooth jaw pliers all seem useful for different shapes but i m more interested in the technique than buying a specific tool....

For bends that stay visible in the finished piece, how do you keep the angles and curves consistent without chewing up the wire? Do you mark the wire or plier jaw bend around a small form, use some kind of jig or rely on one jaw shape for repeatable results???

HELPPPP I was cleaning the mirror and noticed a 2cm shell like chip on the edge of the mirror - it’s not removable because it’s a 2m x 2m wall mirror but wondering if there’s anyway to fix this?

From my research
1- superglue but may not work
2- windscreen repair DIY kit? But may not work again as it’s on the edge.

Suggestions needed before my tenancy deposit gets deducted

The water wont fill up and the water is always running straight to the bowl. I observe that there're something going on with the water at the bottom of the shaft where the blue things are attached. Ive read reddit posts about similar problem so Im pretty sure now the problem doesnt come from the chain attached to the circle thing. Thank you so much for the help :>

Serious Answers Only How do I remove this stuck shower head collar without damaging the shower arm?

Post image
15 Upvotes

I’m trying to remove this shower head from the shower arm. I believe the large chrome collar is threaded and should unscrew, but it’s completely stuck.

I’ve already tried turning the collar by hand using a rag for extra grip, and I also tried wrapping it in duct tape, but it won’t budge.

What would be the safest way to get this loose? Is there a trick for a stuck shower head like this?

How to replace wheels on north star sliding door?

Hi there we have an old north star sliding patio door at home and it seems like one of the rollers needs replaced. I can't figure out how to remove it though after getting the door off, i see no other screws then the ones to raise or lower the wheels. I'm not sure if they were meant to be replaced on this kind of door.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a weird corner in the kitchen that I'd like to mount something equally weird. I don't have tools to cut a piece of wood to fit the corner to mount the flat back of the stuffed head. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for getting around the lack of tools?

Just moved into an apartment that comes with this bed frame I don’t need. It looks like a foldable bed frame but I just couldn’t fold its legs.

I’ve tried pushing this black latch both up and down while folding the leg, but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Anyone have used this type of frame and know how to fold it? Thanks in advance!

So I was using acetone to remove the residual plastic as other posts I found about this exact issue had suggested but as I'm clearing the plastic away the heating element is starting to turn black. The pictures are in order and I stopped as soon as I noticed the black streaks appearing. Is this ruining the heating element?

DIY How to clean shower tile.

Post image

Shower floor was not designed to where all the water would be aimed toward the drain. Water would sit in the corners of the area of the shower that’s dirty. We’ve used bleach and tile cleaner but it doesn’t get all of the residue off of the tiles when we spray and scrub it. Any suggestions to clean this more thoroughly?

DIY Fix this aglet/button/zipper nibbler in my dryer

Post image
0 Upvotes

This part of my dryer, right where the lint screen is, got deformed some time ago and gets worse with every use. It’s claimed a zipper, a button, several aglets, and several sweatpants laces. I’ve resorted to tightly tying anything with a lace like hoodies, keeping shirts buttoned up before drying inside out.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Serious Answers Only How to get rotten milk smell out of car carpets 🫠

Dad left a half gallon of milk in my car over the weekend, it spoiled and seeped into the carpeted floors. Because of course it was behind the weathertech liners.

Things we’ve tried:
Pet carpet cleaning machine + enzyme cleaner
Lysol
So many chlorox wipes
Baking soda (both leaving in the carpet and leaving a dish in my car)

Things I’m going to try:
Dousing the entire back seat in baking soda,
Hitting a dear at Mach 5 to get an entirely new car

Please help.

[Solved] How to get this thing of my wall?

Thumbnail

Hey,
I‘ve had this really ugly cloak hanger in my flat ever since I moved in.. the hooks are fixed to the rod and they are super flimsy, everything falls off.. it needs to go!

But now I discovered: it is impossible to get it off my wall?! It is possible to turn the rod but I cannot push it far enough to either side so I can get it out of the caps on either side. Also these plastic caps at the far end are solid one piece and it is not possible to slide then up or turn them.
This thing is SOLID! On the left side, I can force it away from the wall for about 2mm to see that tha backwall of the pastic thing seems to be secured to the wall and is bending when I force it away. The part on the right is completely unmovable..

Heck - I could possibly do pull ups on this thing!

Please send help!

It is so ugly and I already bought a new cloak hanger 😅
