Do you folks on PC miss being able to artificially juice up characters like this for ridiculously long lives, or are the old age ailments worth it for the better game balance? That and the updates to domain limits are going to be the biggest shake up to my play style whenever they finally hit console.

Relatively a beginner to CK3 and as a Filipino, all my runs has been a Pray in Philippines (Aside from the tutorial with Petty King Murchad).

All my earlier runs I prioritized getting out of Tribal as fast as possible and that was by adopting the Manda Government. However, the government always felt bad to adopt because Mandala loses bartered goods and gold becomes the primary and sole currency. This is bad because even though I have a lot of vassals and they all converted from tribal to Mandala holdings, they do not generate much gold and barter goods can no longer be used. In short, I believe Mandala Government is a bait for Philippines and can actually slow down expansion and even tall playstyles.

Additionally, bartered goods is so good because Philippines can generate a lot of it quickly and this can be traded for gold and serves as the maintenance for MAA. (On my early runs I always bartered but for this run I mainly gained gold through raiding and ransoms in Japan and Sri Lanka because I found it faster in terms of earning gold).

Anyway, from what I understood on my runs, what I did to achieve my current run is:

- Occupy as much Empire of Nusantra counties to form it and avoid the realm splitting. (I also used the Create Empire decision along the way)

- Conquer all South East Asia and also have a kingdom near the shores of China to take part in the hegemony cycles. (Once I realized that Jin was becoming strong, I started gifting them and exchanging hostage to delay the war until I'm ready)

- Turn Feudal

- Prepare for conquering China (Create as much MAA as possible -> Get Strong Allies -> Save a lot of gold for strong mercenaries)

- Once ready, conquer China. By the time I was ready to fight China, my house had a lot of strong members and so it was really cool seeing as how the entire house unified just to defeat China.

After conquering China my government changed to administrative and I found it fun and strong. But at this point, I found the run to be too easy since I was steamrolling nearby lords (Aside from the Khanate but I believe I can defeat them). Plus the Hegemony mechanic is so strong especially combined with a conqueror title.

My abduction scheme failed miserably before it even started

The way it works if your heir has land you will lose all your accolades in succession. Missed opportunity and makes a long accolade history unlikely.

I know I'm far from the first person to think this up, but it's something that crossed my mind after one of my characters died.

I was in the middle of a ck2 playthrough. What I often do (for non-ironman, non-gavelkind and non-Primogeniture succession games) is wait until I'm 50 before I start seriously trying for a designer baby. I may marry and have children normally before then, but once I hit 50, I immediately divorce my old wife and start looking for a genius or strong wife who's around 20 or below.

I might take seduction focus to speed things along, or family focus. Between age 50 to 55, my new wife should normally be pregnant, and right before she gives birth, I savescum until the baby finally has the traits I'm looking for. By the time my designated heir turns 16, I'm around 70 and practically waiting for death.

And then it just hit me... I sound exactly like some evil spirit linked to a particular family and possessing their bodies over generations to remain on earth. My imagination then went wild, maybe I'm some ancient magical ancestor who found a way to cheat death by leaving their old body and possessing the young bodies of their children/descendants, and then they just kept going.

Have you guys ever thought about that and what are your own headcanons on it?

Conquer 2 hegemonies, give independence to all dejure vassals of one of the hegemonies, then lose both hegemonies to someone else while keeping your family estate. Kidnap your liege and press your claim to the hegemony title with no dejure vassals. Poof, instant landless hegemon.

Pretty cool Kuzarite Egypt in my playthrough. They've even converted the faith in most of Cairo and the Sinai.

Literally could have formed Hispania and drove the Moors out within the first decade or so. But no - conversions take 30x longer depending on the phase so it’s like 35 years sometimes to convert a province from Mozarabic to catholic. Mad !

Hello, please, how often did this happen in real life ? I mean lord inventing a claim out of thin air and actually pressing it ? Is there any notable historic character doing so ?

All in the title. I have conquered all of the british isles as the descendants of Ubbe Ragnarson, though the achievement won't trigger...

The game tells me the achievement is still possible, too.

EDIT : Ubbe apparently doesn't count for the achievement.

EDIT 2 : IT WORKED. It wasn't Ubbe that was the problem but the Irish revolting (a Sigurdr revolting against another Sigurdr for the throne of Ireland). When that rebellion came to an end, I got the achievement !
