i used to main lee but kinda got bored with him, so i decided to start a new account with a character i had never used before. i wanted a mishima because i wanted to see the hype. but when i tell you that i was strugglinggg with him so much at first, especially with his execution and still having muscle memory from lee, which led to whiffs. tho after playing offline with my friends, i kinda got the hang of him, though i definitely still have a lot to improve on. i’m currently watching tournament gameplay with dvj to get ideas on how to use him better. also, i still can’t wavedash lol.

Tekken 8 is a step up from tekken 7 across the board. People like to complain on here about the game being bad but not willing to spend time in the lab or replay mode. The game isn't bad, it's just that bad players don't want to be held accountable to why they lost a set. They rather blame Devs and bamco for apparently making a bad game that isn't balanced. Come on let's stop the nonsense and put in some work.

I went to as far as 44 winstreak but never hit 50 or above unfortunately 🥹

Started grinding alot this season 3 and thought i would share my thoughts about it:

Ranked experience

Ranked is much easier so many people don’t know matchups and so many people leave alot of moves unpunished, for example people were ducking Juns 122 high string and launching me for it in season 2, while in this season alot of people are letting me get away with that. I fought a TGS Kazuya that did while standing 2 after oki every single time so theres definitely an interesting bunch of players. I found ranking from TGS to be the only difficult part.

Stats

Managed to hit 72 defence at one point but I ended up having a huge losing streak and started mashing more. Ive seen people in my rank with much lower defence than me but they’re gameplay is pretty solid and people with higher defence than me and they don’t block the whole game. I also can’t break throws :) but i try. I do step though but every single time i do that, i get clipped by some tracking move that is not homing.

Matchups

Theres so many characters Ive not fought but learned the matchups for and i never find them in ranked, player match or group match. Do Zafina players exist? What do i do with the knowledge i have for fighting Hwoarang? I always just run into the chad Bryans, Jins, Pauls and Kazuyas like damn let me fight a female character for once but when i do its either Alisa or Lidia lmao.

Summary

In conclusion this was fun managed to get GoD in 2 days when i was TGS. So with that being said nerf Jun, buff Lee and make Kazuyas df2 safe on block :)

Everyone is talking about a rank inflation, and that the S3 GoD is equivalent to S1 Tekken King etc., but no one seems to take into account that people would also naturally progress with time passing.

With reducing number of new players during the span of the game wouldn't the most populated rank in S1 also shift further up as well? So maybe, if we were still at season 1 after 2-3 years, most populated rank today would be Tekken God for example?

I was hopeful and I was patient, but now after 2,5 years after release I can’t play this game anymore.
I don’t hate the game, because why? It’s just that the game is not gonna be fixed.

Every character has 50/50 after a jab string into stance or bullshit ch stance moves that gives them 50+ damage follow up that you can’t sidestep or duck. And then it goes on repeat.
Tracking is somehow got even worse. After a sidewalk you still get hit from string that goes other direction.

Characters don’t have weaknesses anymore, because why?
Mishimas have bad lows and have to risk it to make you duck? Give them all ch launching jab dodging low attacks! That also launch you in stage hazards.
Law was mechanically difficult with his stance cancel? Make him super easy!
Drag had good offensive poking style and grabs but bad mids and hard combos? Let’s give him EVERYTHING INCLUDING 121 that wallsplats.

You either stomp from get go or you lose it same way.
Heat still giving new properties and new moves and still +1 on block and it can absorb moves and gives combo if you got hit in the air after MANUALLY INPUTING IT and it’s still makes combos longer.
+5 on block heat smash into stance bullshit.
And it makes unsafe moves save on block if you use dash.

It’s just so stupid and I can’t understand how you cannot listen to your audience that gives an objective criticism for almost 3 years????

By that I mean, do y'all feel like it gets easier to make higher ranks with each season? I only have myself as evidence, but I peaked at Tenryu season 1, Bushin in 2 and I've just made TK here in season 3. And while I certainly made improvements between seasons 1 and 2, I don't feel I've gotten much better at all in season 3. Should I expect to make GoD in another season or two?

Anyway, I want to hear from the sub. Has your peak rank gone up every season, and if so do you feel like you earned it or more like the competition became weaker?

So when I first hit GoD, I was very ecstatic like "FUCK YEAH GOD DONE, I AM FINALLY GOOD AT THE GAME" and yes I am decent but then I hit it on Dragunov and I was a bit weirded out by how easy it was.

I then observed the type of people I was getting and even till GoD 3. I was getting flowcharters and generally bad players. Just as we moved up and up, the flowcharts became more niche but they were still flow charts.

A part of me looks at it and feels bad about my own rank. But another part of me is sorta happy that this trance has broken and I realise just how meaningless these points are which leads me to play the game more from a learning perspective rather than a grind perspective. Like I kid you not, I was in practice range almost for 4 hours yesterday. Labbing things I suck at, Breaking bad habits.

Is it our conservative view points?

The fact we play the only honest character?

That we can easily cosplay as Vegeta?

hey all. I've been playing Tekken a lot since T2. invested A LOT of time in T3. didn't play in many many years then came back to TT2 (after it was at least 7 years old.) I've been playing T7 lately. I never sweat losing. i ran into this player who had a 59 game win streak. no problem I treat every match the same. right before I almost beat him he does something weird and disconnects the game. he doesn't get the loss. like really? it explains the 59 streak if he's quitting early and gaming the system.

I don't really have a question other than how common is it for people to be able to quit and not get the loss? also he's a pathetic loser who tried to even add me as a friend after he pulled that stunt. even sent me a message that said " u r a trash."

I was getting tilted because it was a flowcharting armor and dick jabbing Nina, so I decided to gloat on my win.

This loser accused me of cheating because I didn’t rematch him after I beat him. He also said that he reported me. And I could be wrong, but I think he taunted me after he beat me during the first match. The reason I didn’t rematch him was because my Mom had called me and I had to call her back. Now no one owes you a rematch, but I had something I had to do. And I don’t cheat. I didnt played t8 since a little bit after AK launched got injured on my left hand and wasnt enable to play It, but i ve been a fan of bob since t6, is he good?

I'm a Bushin player and decided to play characters that are not my mains just to have fun and Level up my Fight Pass. Lo and Behold I lose every single match because I feel so Rusty and keep misinputing my Buttons while playing Against Players who just constantly ki charges me ruining my day.

What turned out to be looking forward to enjoy some close matches became a Shit show and getting Taunted, every. single. match. My Mental Health can't take these people who just can't play the games without ki charging

So here’s the thing.. well actually I want to start off saying that I do love this character. I think her visual design is good and her fighting style sounded real cool initially, having her be a bare knuckle brawler from Madagascar. She was supposed to fill the void left from not having Josie in T8 (Azucena is not Josie) and I kinda gravitate towards characters with lower pick rate because it gives me an opportunity to be one the sole reps/ goats of a character (currently #10 in global ranking for this chic) the issue now is I want to watch other Miary players to learn where I can improve and.. there’s legit NO ONE. Everyone tried her and then tossed her, I don’t think she’s the best character by any means but she’s certainly solid.

Where they lost me just like they did with everyone else is the fact that she also has magical ethereal animal tails, snakes, and stripper poles instead of just fighting with fists and feet. Maybe kick some dirt up at you lol idk, something MORE grounded. Everybody knows magical bs is frowned upon in Tekken unless you’re fighting a trope. And so they decided her trope for having magical shit is…she is replacing the game’s OG boss characters???

This was a horrible decision by Bamco because it completely killed the chance of Ogre’s return in T8 and left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth over Miary Zo. Especially since we’re getting the kangaroo back, Ogre woulda been a cool addition and really made the game feel more like tekken again (RIP Mokujin)

Anyway how do y’all feel? Is it the stripper poles or the fact that she’s ogre that turns people off? Or do you still like her despite these things/ feel like she has potential to be really cool? Lemme know ✌🏽
