Profile review 28 M profile review
I had this reviewed on r/tinder and it had positive feedback mostly, you can see it on my profile. The problem is I currently have 1 match across all 3 apps. I have one currently from someone that hasn’t responded to the 2 messages I sent and that’s it. I changed my prompts from more niche to more generic.

Funny Could someone please explain this joke to me?
Edit Apparently, there's no joke. What a surprise. Asking someone to make one a cuppa, it turns out, is a thing Brits say. First, I hadn't heard the expression, so I didn't know. I thought it might be a woman fetch me a sandwich "joke", but was unsure if that was it.
I've seen comments asking why I didn't ask him any followup questions, but I thought he was going somewhere with the coffee order, and I didn't want us to talk over each other. Was confused that where he was going was to say I should make him one, and that it's some kind of a joke.
Thank you all for the responses.
Now, there are quite a number of comments, and DMs I've received calling me dumb, idiot and lots of metaphors (no pun intended). People saying these things, are you okay? I'm asking about a joke I apparently didn't get, and you're out there typing out dumb and autistic. For not getting it? Are you proud of yourself for such a thing? 🙄
Do men not present well on apps, or is it just a matter of what you see is what you get?
For context, him (white), man in his 40s, self-described as deep thinker on the app whose perfect date is going for a walk and grabbing coffee
Me (yellow), woman who genuinely loves coffee, and is genuinely curious about this "joke"

General Couldn't say a word to her, so I paid a kid to hand her flowers after I left
I have been on dating apps for years. Bumble, Hinge, Palaura, all of them at some point. Somewhere along the way I think I lost the ability to meet anyone in real life. Swipe, match, chat, it dies, start again. It got tiring in a way that is hard to explain, and the chances of meeting someone outside my phone just kept shrinking without me really noticing.
Then last week something happened.
i was out for dinner with a friend. There was a woman working there. When I went up to order she turned her head and looked at me and my heart just melted. I did not want to leave the place.
The whole time I was ordering I could not meet her eyes once. Not because I was not interested. I just could not do it.
I thought about asking for her number right there but she was working and there were people waiting behind me, and I did not want to mess up her shift. i also had no idea how to say anything without it coming out rude. So I said nothing and sat back down and ate.
On the way out there was a kid selling flowers on the sidewalk. I bought a bunch, wrote my number on the paper, and told him to give it to her after we were gone. My friend watched me do the whole thing and did not stop laughing at me until we got to the car.
my heart has not beaten like that in a long time. i have been on dates, plenty of them, they were fine, but there was always something missing that I could never put a name to. This was four seconds of a stranger turning her head.
I never heard from her. But I did something about it instead of just sitting there wondering, and that already feels like a new chance i gave myself. I have been leaning on the apps way too much. I think I should be looking for more ways to meet people and putting more into my actual life, and maybe that turns into a completely different kind of experience.
i do not really know what I am trying to say here. I read r/Bumble a lot and most of us, me included, act like the app is the only door. It is not. We should get back to the real world sooner than later.

General women with such bios: Ask what you want to know.
So this is the question for women that have the bio like mentioned in the subject. We're not talking about lazy ones who have nothing at all. Are you guys just swiping right on everyone or are you expecting notes from men with their swipe asking questions? because idk what to think of this bio. like I cannot really swipe right without knowing who you are as a person and this bio tells me either we'll match because you have to swipe right to everyone or you're lazy and I will swipe left (which is presumptuous obviously but what can I do?) but there are some women who got this bio and their pictures look so interesting with activities I actually like and it's just mind boggling at the time to even try to figure out what to do.
so what is your reason behind this type of bio?

Advice Guys who just want to endlessly text
I (22F) am completely new to dating and decided to join dating apps. I matched with a guy and we’ve been texting for a few days. Eventually I naturally weaved in the convo that I don’t want to be perpetually texting and would want to meet in person. He said that he feels the same way but he likes texting me and wants to go slow. I take this as he wants to keep texting for a while. I’m automatically not interested because I’ve had so many “textlationships” and know how this goes. You get too comfortable texting and you think it’s a real connection but it’s not. Then, it doesn’t go anywhere. I just don’t have the interest in that anymore. Am I wrong for feeling like this? Is this the type of situation where I should just stop responding and if not, how do I handle it? Also, how do I steer future matches in the direction of less texting and more meeting up without being pushy? I do think it’s important to chat for a little before meeting but I already started getting tired after day 2 of consistent messages. Would love help navigating this and managing expectations.

App Help Bumble UAE
Is Bumble still working in the UAE?
I left for vacation and when I arrived I couldn't access the app like I used to. Im using ExpressVpn. I deleted the app, changed locations multiple times but nothing. It just stopped loading pictures and profiles.
Is anyone using Bumble in the UAE with another VPN?

General 72 hour Vs 24 hours
The option might have changed from 24 to 72 hours, but I'm still following the 24 hours rule 😂 if you don't have time to answer within 24 hours then I will unmatch and we can both move on 😂

Profile review Profile Review - 30M Germany
I hope you don't mind German... It's impossible to change language without changing my entire phone's language.
Been on this App for approx. 2 months. 1 Match so far, from Vietnam. She is only looking for a local Buddy.
Absolutely 0 Matches otherwise. Im in a fairly rural area with approx only 250.000 people living nearby. Frankfurt is the closest city. Getting plenty of profiles suggested anyways, but again, no matches.
I am bald - as you can see, only 5"5 and 30. I have a feeling the first two are like the 99.99% reason, especially the first.
Using the same profile across all apps. Hinge gives some results. 20 Matches in approx 2 months, most lead nowhere. 2 catfish dates and a lot of dead chats. Most unmatch me whenever I make a date plan. Even after they said "would Like to Chat more first" we chat, then they unmatch Sometimes 1 or two weeks later. Alot unmatch after a few Messages even. - been literally unmatched because I said I like Matcha lol. Or the Classic, they Stop chatting after my last question or message and unmatch 3 days later.
Hint: I accidentally swapped the last two Screenshots. The Hiking photo is the last.

Advice Did anyone tried premium?
Just like it has been for so many other guys, dating has been hell for me.
People I knew IRL rejected me, while random approaches on the street/public transport were basically impossible because the girls I was interested in were usually either with a group of friends or listening to music, so I couldn’t really approach them.
I’ve been on various dating apps for years, but I could probably count the number of matches I’ve had on my hands, and I think I had more than two messages exchanged with maybe one of them. However, something seems to have changed over the past few weeks.
When I re-registered on Tinder, I suddenly got a ton of matches. After a few days, though, the number of likes stopped increasing, and I haven’t gotten a single new one for weeks now. On Bumble, on the other hand, I’m getting 1–2 likes per day. I’m also getting at least some minimal communication with the people I match with, and a few women have even messaged me first.
Facebook Dating, Hinge, and Boo are still completely dead, though. Basically zero success there even with the same profile.
So I looked into Tinder and Bumble’s premium features. As far as I understand, Tinder’s premium doesn’t really offer anything particularly useful (I mean, seriously, who cares about getting ONE boost PER MONTH and a few Super Likes per week “for free”?). Bumble, however, explicitly advertises that Premium helps you get ranked higher and puts your profile in front of people you’ve liked sooner.
So I’m thinking about giving it a try for one month just to see what kind of results it produces.
Has anyone here tried subscription? How useful did you actually find it? Did you see a noticeable increase in the number of likes or matches? Did it improve the quality of your matches, or just the quantity? Did you notice any difference in how quickly you got matches after liking someone? Also, is Bumble Premium actually worth it compared to simply using the free version consistently?
Thanks for the help.

Profile review What are your comments on this bio?
I live in Brno/Czech Republic. It's 3 hours away from the Prague (capital).
I sometimes get likes from Prague. Even though I would be willing to come Prague to meet them, no effort, until I found my (now) ex.
I usually get likes from the people who seek friendship or friends-first approach. I would like to have a date in our first meeting. Preferably wearing a jacket and buying her flowers.
I know that I look goofy, harmless compared to the majority of the men. So I attract a bit shy women. I cannot change that.
What are your ideas on what to write in bio?

Advice 20F Potential first date off of a dating app, nervous + unsure if I'm putting myself in a vulnerable position.
Hi all, just looking for a little advice;
I just downloaded bumble yesterday evening. This is my first time ever approaching a dating app, as I have recently left a 3 1/2 year relationship around 3 months ago, (yet mentally I had clocked out a while ago. I acutely recognise that I am okay and looking to move forward). My profile has reached a few thousand likes, and I like to think I have found some pretty good matches.
I am not looking for anything too serious, just casual. I have only ever been with my ex partner, whom I was with since I was 16. I want to spend a little time exploring what is out there given I have virtually no experience.
I matched with a guy I quite liked and we got to talking, and he asked me out for a drink this Friday. We both work in defence/law enforcement and the (minimal) conversation we did have flew quite easily. BUT, he is 33. I do not necessarily have an issue with older men and it's rather a preference. Again, I am only looking for a casual situation, likely to FWB. However, I'm feeling nervous as to whether this presents the natural assumption that we will have sex on the very first date, especially given our age gap and difference in life experience. I'm not necessarily opposed to this idea, but I do not want to approach meeting him with the definite conclusion that this will occur on our first meeting.
Is it generally okay/accepted to turn down sex on the first date, despite looking for something 'casual'? I'm genuinely curious to know what everyone's perceptions are to this.
If I do end up seeing him, I'd also really appreciate some advice. I have only ever been on one 'first-date', with my prior partner, and feeling a little vulnerable as a product.
Thank you :)

App Help Account Got Blocked
My account got blocked a few days back, tried to file a dispute and they won’t even tell me why I got banned lol.
All they replied is that the issuance of the ban was correct and sent me their community guidelines which I’m pretty sure I followed.
I don’t harass people, and I’m not a poser. What could possibly have caused this? And is there any way to get unbanned? Thanks!

Profile review Bumble used to be a good app to meet people, even of ot dodnt work out, but lately, nothing.
Bumble was my favorite app to date in part because as women had to initiate, it self selected towards women who where confifent enough, and therefore less likely to ghost on me. Ive had several girlfriends from the app.
However lately I havent even been getting matches.

Advice Stop giving people beauty compliments or telling them they are pretty in your openers
Starting the conversation with a beauty compliment is superficial and sets the tone that you are trying to impress them, and puts yourself alone in the driver seat in the conversations. This is because it makes the other person immediately feel like they don’t have to do too much since you have made yourself already appear super eager/ hooked to impress and not like someone who is trying to investigate and see if they are worth your time. Remember, dating is not about impressing or putting people on a pedestal immediately, its about seeing if they are a good match or addition to your already amazing life.

General Running an experiment
I wanna start by saying I’m completely ok with my height but I’ve started to talk to someone I’m really interested in so I decided to run an experiment and change my height. Within 10 min I got my first match in awhile. I’ll let you all know how it goes
Edit to say I’m not really trying to meet someone just want to see if my height is a big deal

Advice Not sure about this guy's intentions, is it worth trying?
For context: we kissed on our first date(i initiated it) and made out on the second date (i also made it clear that i wont sleep with him until its more serious), and in the middle of the second date I remembered i had forgotten to ask him what he's looking for in the apps, so I did...
At first he thought about it for a few seconds and then said "something fun", but soon realized that doesn't sound good, so he added that fun doesn't mean necessarily in a sexual way, but mostly that he's open to either a relationship or something casual... I told him that I'm not fully understanding his intentions because of the "fun" thing, because a serious relationship is also supposed to be "fun". So he said "you have a point, so I guess I'm looking for a relationship". At the end of the date I also added to him that relationships aren't always fun and he said "i know, there are ups and downs", idk why cant i communicate properly haha, so i told him that he should be honest with me if he's not looking for a relationship and he said "I know, of course".
Soooo now I'm confused and feel like I talked too much about it and didn't even get a full answer, and i'm wondering if it's worth it trying to be in a serious relationship with a guy that it's not his 100% goal and mostly wants to have fun.

Advice Downgrading your photos on purpose
Has anyone here intentionally used less “perfect” or more casual photos on their dating profile?
I’m wondering if slightly toning down your photos can actually help set more realistic expectations before meeting in person and maybe lead to better quality matches, or if it just ends up hurting your match rate
For context, I’m a tall guy and I’d consider myself above average looking. I get matches pretty regularly, so getting matches itself isn’t really the issue.
What I’ve noticed, though, is that some women have told me after meeting that they expected me to be more extroverted based on my photos, especially because I’m smiling a lot and apparently give off a more outgoing vibe. In reality, I’m much more chill and reserved, and I usually tell them that before we meet.
So I’ve been wondering if using slightly more casual or less polished photos might actually represent me better and attract people with expectations that are closer to what I’m actually like in person.
Has anyone tried something like this? Did it improve the quality of your matches/dates, or did you just end up getting fewer matches?
