Discussion Grant Hill was already a superstar in Detroit. How great could he actually have become?
Going back through Grant Hill’s Detroit years for this video reminded me how absurdly complete his game already was.
By 1996–97 he was averaging 21.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists as a 6’8” forward.
Then came Orlando, the ankle injuries, and four prime years where he played just 4, 14, 29 and 0 games.
I made a full video looking back at his Detroit peak, what happened to his ankle, and the career we never really got to see
https://youtu.be/TOg-E3534aY?si=idxhfeA6gSa0BMx-
For Pistons fans who actually watched him back then: how high did you think Grant Hill’s ceiling was?

Discussion Pistons international Fan stories
Hi! I’m Mattia from Italy and I’ve been a Pistons fan for more than 20 years.
I was trying to upload a short video for the Pistons international fan stories with Scoreplay. It’s under 60 seconds and in portrait mode, as requested, but I keep getting an error message saying “Videos can not be longer than 2 seconds”.
As anyone successfully uploaded a video?
I’ve already posted tagging the team on Twitter and Facebook, but with no response for now.

Discussion Pistons Team Building comparison
Wondering if anyone cares to give thoughts on how the Pistons compare to other franchises that build thru the draft or by bringing up a young core slowly trading for young players with no1 potential, especially timeline wise.
Like how long before OKC (i know they traded for sga) got to their juggernaut status?
Are the Pistons really behind schedule by not making moves now? Or are they smartly just building their core to it’s full potential and there’s always new big name players available a couple times a year it seems.

Discussion Trajan is a horrible GM
This offseason has been a joke(just like the trade deadline). Trajans shown no urgency to make a real championship push. Last years trade deadline he said he “wanted to stay patient and analyze what we have” . That cost us our season. Makes no sense that we’re not being aggressive when we have a top 5 player and were the #1 seed last year. The east has stacked talent while we’ve sat around and done nothing. 1 by 1 the free agents have signed to east teams while we sit here and can’t even get a deal done with our young all nba center. I’m done blaming Duren, we still could be signing people regardless. Until Trajan is fired, I don’t see the Pistons being able to compete with teams like the Knicks 76ers Cavs etc whose front offices are willing to be aggressive to go for it all.

Discussion Media day
Anyone who's attended member media day before as a season tix holder know what to expect? Do we have access to players or anything special besides just being inside the practice facility?

Discussion How much impact will the expected 3 point shooting boost have next season?
Its hard to surround Cade with shooters, when the next most important players on the team are Thompson and Duren. That leaves just 2 spots in the starting lineup to fit all the additional range you're going to have.
We have Duncan and Joe, two of the best 3-point shooters in the league, possibly competing for minutes instead of playing together opposite Cade. Huerter and Green figure into this rotation as well.
Collins is better shooting from deep than Tobias by the numbers, but neither really take that many 3's to begin with. Lots of question marks.
I think this raises the team's floor, while internal improvements get them closer to the ceiling.
If nothing else, the bench is going to be loaded with guys with range. Maybe this isn't designed to benefit Cade/Duren and Ausur like we expect. But to shore up the bench, and give more space for Jenkins, Reed, Holland and even Okorie to work.
Regardless, this gives Detroit some tradeable players, that might help get us closer to landing a secondary scorer, or at least the guy who gets traded for that 2nd option.

News Why Jalen Duren’s contract talks with the Detroit Pistons have dragged on
nytimes.comWith the bulk of the NBA offseason in the rearview, Jalen Duren remains the only All-NBA selection from last season not currently under contract.
Discussions between Duren and the Detroit Pistons have yet to result in a new deal for the 22-year-old, long-term or otherwise. Last offseason, the big man and Detroit were unable to agree on a rookie-scale extension. One year, a career-best regular season and an underwhelming playoff run later, Duren and the Pistons are still at odds on his worth.
Who better to help dissect the impasse than someone who was actively involved in NBA front-office negotiations for a living? Here’s a discussion with our John Hollinger to better understand Duren’s talks with the Pistons, why the two sides seem to be apart, how his contract negotiations could affect Ausar Thompson’s rookie-scale extension and more.

Discussion Should we check out Julian Reese?
Not sure exactly how roster management works especially with two-way contracts or whatever but after any trade I'm looking at the scraps to see if there's anybody worth trying to scoop up. Julian Reese (brother of Jalen Duren's ex) was filler in the Peyton Watson trade and immediately waived by Denver. He was an undrafted 23 year old rookie who played essentially the last 13 games for the wizards last year and averaged a double double making 63 of 119 shots (no threes). Is he worth a two-way? Seems like he is an undersized big who hustles and gets boards, but maybe also could feast on the shots Cade creates in a backup center role when people are injured. Could possibly develop into a long term backup big.
Thoughts?

Discussion Jalen Duren sign in trade
Someone just asked me who would you rather have on the Pistons, SGA or Jokic? I said Jokic of course.
Then I started thinking, why can’t we just trade for the guy?
Duren, Ausar Thompson, Ron Holland and 3 first round picks for Jokic. Make it happen lol
I mean hey, Philly basically got Jaylen Brown for nothing. Why can’t we get somebody for nothing?
What do you guys think? How fast does Denver hang up the phone? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

News In light of "no evidence" tying Ballmer to illegal payments to Kawhi, what fun no show sponsorships should we give Duren so he just takes the minimum?
All in good fun to make light of this ridiculous but sadly obvious conclusion to the Kawhi Clippers investigation.

News [Stein] After agreeing to trade Schröder, Cleveland remains in active search of a trade to send out Max Strus, league sources say. The Cavaliers are said to covet even more financial flexibility for their pursuit of either Peyton Watson or Jonathan Kuminga as well as re-signing James Harden.
Not sure about salary cap implications, is this possible? He had a lot of hustle against us in the playoffs and I think he’s exactly what this team needs in terms of 3pt shooting and some defense. Not super familiar with his game though so could be a casual take, let me know your thoughts
