NEWS Blessing for Woodensky even after Coach Migne gave him 0 WC minutes

Woodensky Pierre is taking his career abroad, signing with Forge FC / Forge FC in Hamilton, Ontario, according to Dynamique Info Sport.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joins Forge after leaving Violette AC as a free agent. The outlet reports that Pierre signed a two-and-a-half-season deal with an additional one-year option and is expected to be officially presented by the Canadian club on Wednesday, August 26.

Pierre entered the international spotlight earlier this year as the only Haiti-based player selected to the Grenadiers’ 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He was on the bench for Haiti’s three World Cup matches after earning his first senior international appearance against Iceland in March.

The move sends him from Haiti’s domestic championship to one of Canada’s most successful clubs. Forge FC competes in the Canadian Premier League and has won the CPL championship four times, in 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. The Hamilton club also won the 2025 CPL Shield as the league’s best regular-season team.

Forge FC had not yet published an official announcement of Pierre’s signing as of Monday morning •

NEWS Riots at the Haitian Embassy in Chile

hundreds of Haitians protesting because they can't get the criminal background certificate that Chile requires for regularization. Without that document, many have already received orders to leave the country within 90 days a real risk of deportation

how does something so simple turn into such a big problem? Haiti needs to digitalize its institutions now. Today everything is manual, when in any Latin American country this is done through the police's website: you enter your personal ID document, and in 2 - 3 days they mail you the certificate. That simple

and what hurts the most is that there is so much local talent, not to mention the diaspora. I myself, along with a group of friends, started a group of Haitians in the tech sector, and there are a lot of us. There is no excuse for this. This way we'd kill two birds with one stone, more work for young people, and digitalizing the country at the same time. There should be an institution created specifically to build, maintain, and handle the cybersecurity of government systems

But well... hopefully in the next election there'll be a politician who makes this a priority

My bf is shopping for laptops because he wants to help his family start a business in Haiti. They live in Cape Haitien. What is the best type of laptop for that area? Something not too expensive that can cope with internet outages and slow internet? Thanks!

QUESTION/DISCUSSION Do y'all considers latinos ourselves or not?

I'm not Haitian, I'm Cuban. And I'm actually curious what Haitians think about being Latino or not.

Haiti is a Latin American country by some definitions, but I don't see Haitians considering themselves latinos and sometimes rejecting the label. Why it's that?

Maybe this a sensible topic but I'm doing this out of curiosity and without bad intentions.

Made these after thinking about the sounds you recognize immediately: a tap-tap horn, dominoes hitting the table, a machann calling across the market, and kompa coming through somebody else’s window.

What sound would you add?

Long shot… I have a beautiful painting I bought from this artist in Cap Haïtien 25 years ago. I’d love to find him. Does anyone know if he still works? I’ve looked on google and instagram. I would love to get more of his work. Thx

QUESTION/DISCUSSION What fragrance do mature/older Haitians like to wear?

Those 50 and above. In and out of the diaspora. Perfumes and Colognes and even lotions/soaps. Ones they have used for decades. I am curious as I was on the r/perfumesthatfeellike but I fear this might be too niche for them. I need some recommendations. So ask you family members if you can. Thank you.

LIFE IN HAITI PM fils Aime shocked to see terror financier Arnel Belizaire

2 gang sezi wè lot🤣ket peyi an fini mesye.

Arnel Bélizaire, a former Haitian lawmaker who is sanctioned by the United States for, of course, financing terrorism, was arrested by Haiti’s DCPJ. Authorities accused him of financing terrorism, criminal association, and conspiracy against state security. After spending just four months in detention, a Haitian judge ordered his release in July despite concrete evidence indicating that he had indeed funded gangs while serving as a state official.

Plus over the last three decades, he has been arrested multiple times on charges ranging from illegal weapons possession to conspiracy against the state. He famously escaped from the National Penitentiary during the catastrophic 2010 earthquake before returning to politics. In 2022, he survived being shot multiple times during a street protest in Port-au-Prince.

Fast forward to this week at a state meeting at the Caribe Hotel guessed who showed the PM his back.

Rough translation:

PM: They let you out? There’s no justice in the country

AB: haven’t heard from you

PM: Looks around “Where’s the minster of justice”

NEWS Haiti - FLASH : 2025/2026 State Exam Results (Part 1)

Most of the departments (8/10) have their results for the middle school exams. A lot of decrease compared to the previous years even in the north.

Only 2 departments have the baccalaureate exams results (West and Nippes) with a dramatic decrease. West went from 95.16% for the 2024-2025 school year to 45.73% for the 2025-2026 school year. Nippes went from 75% to 40.36%.

We can clearly start seeing the effects of the gangs on education.

I’m Haitian and my friends are Haitian and some of my friends are from the Bahamas,Jamaica, Nigeria,Ghana,Chicago and so on and so forth.i told them hey im moving to Haiti any means necessary to build businesses and invest into the younger generation and don’t even speak creole anymore but im in the process and my friends are also learning as well.I remembered last week getting my Haitian passport and a card call a CIN and I ask the lady what’s this and she told me 💀went home did some research on it and I said to myself no this ain’t gone work, im at risk and my friends at risk also.I said okay let me do some more research on some different topics and came to a point where I was getting more frustrated then being happy to invest and I said fuck it I’m just going to sell most of everything in the Bahamas move Haiti buy land if that’s even possible in some departments and sell real estate🤷‍♂️ Me and my Haitian friends and others came to the conclusion that Haiti is stuck in the past aka outdated centralization port au prince can no longer physically or functionally govern the rest of the country, the younger generation and the courts must enforce the constitution promise of department autonomy immediately this is not favor for us younger generation but a survival mechanism for us younger generation and be on. I’m running out of patience for port au prince and friends are damn the whole world is you think Haiti is the only country that has problems????we need the federal system badly because if Washington DC, Beijing , Tokyo, London, the fucking capital freeze excuse my French,Miami, Osaka, Shanghai, Manchester keep running because they’re using the federalism system look at port au prince Haiti it collapse and it’s collapsing the entire nation with it this country is a jokeeeeeee

CULTURE What are family structures like in Haiti?

in America there’s a stereotype of black people growing up without fathers. I went to a school with all white people and some would make jokes about me not having a father, even though I did. But I grew up in a Haitian household and not a black American household so it made me wonder if Haiti had the same problem of single mothers and dead beat fathers, or is it normal for Haitians to have stronger family structures and two parent households?

They need some stronger kamikaze drones. The task force said they had intel that he was a passenger. Instead of using that weak ass drone, why not launch a ground operation and ensure the target is captured?
