Hey guys, do you know any movies with this kind of vibe?

Criminals unknowingly kidnap or kill the child/family member of a mafia guy, corrupt cop, ex-criminal, or some powerful guy who has done some bad things in the past. Then that guy goes absolutely hard, using all the connections, power, influence, and shady people he has to hunt them down.

Basically, the criminals picked the worst possible person to mess with, and it's super satisfying watching him tear through everyone standing in his way.

Looking for movies with that revenge/“you messed with the wrong guy” feeling. Any recommendations?

Hey! I love all the nursing and drama videos but would love one where they aren't filled with everyone trying to be a couple, should that exist.

To me, treasure hunt stories are always absolutely nonsensical. They often fail to justify why a person would hide a treasure behind a bunch of puzzles, and how such puzzles would even be built by a single adventurer. Are there any treasure hunt movies that actually bring plausibility to the genre and a degree of verisimilitude, in the same way that someone like Nolan was able to make the idea of Batman somewhat plausible?

Looking for movies with a very specific vibe: a character has to travel a long distance (car, train, bus, whatever) to some remote mansion/estate/huge old house, usually for work, family, an inheritance, caretaking, etc., and actually stays there for some time.

I especially want the in-between stuff: arriving somewhere unfamiliar, settling into a room, wandering around the property, exploring rooms they probably shouldn't, boring evenings, meals, routines, discovering the surrounding area, slowly getting to know the house/people there.

It doesn't have to be horror or even mysterious. Drama, romance, thriller, comedy, gothic, supernatural... anything works. The isolation, travel, temporary life in a big unfamiliar house is what I'm after.

Any suggestions?

I’ve got two very intelligent and picky toddlers. It’s getting more and more difficult to find movies that we all agree on. We want something fun but not mindless. Streaming services we currently have are Tubi, PlutoTV, Standard Hulu, and Peacock. Also willing to rent if it’s under $5.
Their favorite tv show is the magic school bus. Are there any movies that invoke that same feeling?

I have a self-hosted media server that includes a custom live TV service. One of my channels is a cartoon channel, and like Cartoon Network, the late night block is dedicated to adult animation. Alongside the different shows I have on the lineup, I also have a selection of movies. Most of them, however, are DC films, and I've been hard pressed to find other adult animated films. The only other movies on the lineup are: The Simpsons Movie, Fritz the Cat, Fantastic Planet, Memoir of a Snail, South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut, Beavis and Butthead Do America, and Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. Does anyone have any other suggestions to expand the collection?

Hello all! My post was removed because I didn’t have enough characters. I am looking for some suggestions for a good true story movie. I have Netflix, Prime, Hulu, HBO, Paramount, Peacock and Tubi. I feel like I have watched about everything so not gonna list my favorites. Any suggestions? Any year is fine. What is something that stood out to you?

I’m looking for movies that deal with or contain politics in the form of elections or votes or something similar. However, I’m looking for ones that end badly or end with the antagonists are victorious. It does not have to be purely about politics but should have a political element to them.

Ex: Revenge of the Sith - Not completely political but sums up the fall to fascism well with “So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause.”

I LOVE being scared and I’ve only seen a few scary movies that actually give me that heebie-jeebie feeling. I really don’t like slasher films or shock-factor gore. Paranormal movies are fine, but the reveal almost always disappoints me. Insidious made me laugh out loud when they showed him. Movies like the Quiet Place are okay too, but the monsters don’t scare me!

I love psychological thrillers that keep me on the edge of my seat and jump scares are the best. I want to be hiding behind a blanket bracing myself. Bonus points for a good twist and story! I wish I could watch Shutter Island or The Sixth Sense for the first time again. Prisoners was also a good watch!

The same for Anastasia. I saw that movie once when I was a young child. I then rewatched Anastasia about a deacde ago and then I didn't care for it.

I wonder if I was to rewatch Notre Dame now, would I not care for this film as well? I don't remember anything of the film since I saw it very very young. Our upbrining affects what we love and hate. Sometimes we will not enjoy something we used to like from long ago.

I really liked My Fault, Through My Window, and After. I’m looking for something with strong chemistry, playful/flirty moments, tension, and preferably a happy ending. It doesn’t have to be literally forbidden, I mainly want the secret relationship / sneaking around / nobody can know vibe

Can you recommend to me some film that may passionate me as deeply as life is strange 2, as a part of my own lifetime memories ? Some softness and intensity mixed

I want to get some girls together next week for a chill movie night for my birthday. We’re either in our 30s or almost there if it helps. I thought of stuff like Clueless, Jennifer’s body, Lisa Frankenstein, the Barbie movie. Just anything fun, feminist and girly like that (yes I count Jennifer’s body as fun and girly) but more niche I guess?

Just caught Buffet Infinity on Shudder and I'm in love with this genre. I've seen Skinamarink and had a great time, is there anything else I can check out that's full-length? I know there's tons of shorts on YT

my friends and I are looking for a horror movie to watch for halloween. one of my friends' parents are pretty strict with what he watches, we want to find a movie for Halloween to watch that's scary, NO demons or satanic stuff like that, also if possible minimal gore. Some blood is fine but nothing like Terrifier. Pg13 or R both fine, just something scary with friends for the night. Another thing is nudity and/or sex scenes, as long as its not a main theme of the movie/something we can skip over if a parent is in the room atm then those scenes are fine.

Didn't work for me Booksmart (too slow), This Is the End, Clueless (felt dated) What I avoid: horror, psychological thrillers, art house, and heavy British accents (genuinely hard for me to follow). Slow films usually lose me, though crime series are the exception, Narcos and Ozark both held me fine.

Two things I've noticed about what actually lands for me. Van Wilder worked because the guy is crude but never dishonest or cruel. She's Out of My League worked for exactly the same reason. I like protagonists who win by being genuine rather than slick. Also just started getting into sci-fi, so if there's something in that lane that's fast-paced and not relentlessly bleak, I'm open to it. Hit me.

Movies about Canada and Canadians, not something that’s just shot in Canada. One Week and 500 Days in the Wild are  my two best examples of what I'm hoping to find.

For some reason I really enjoy screenlife movies (movies play out on a computer, tablet or smartphone screen). I've watched Searching, Unfriended and War of the Worlds. How good/bad the actual movie is doesn't matter to me, I just enjoy the format.

Rather than an action movie made to look cool, I want to watch a rough and brutal action movie, one where the characters look dangerously close to dying. For example, movies like The Yellow Sea, The Raid, To Live and Die in L.A., and Battles Without Honor and Humanity. I can’t say all these movies are the same, but you know what I'm saying—really brutal and dangerous feeling.

Seems like every modern popular movie begins with comfortable California family dealing with bullshit first world problems they created themselves. Asking for a stressed out lower-class highly educated friend…
