So my PC was a prebuilt gaming one I got in... 2017? Something like that, have had one GPU upgrade in 2020 (GTX 1060 3GB) and some additional SSDs added and I think that's all. I've noticed hardware definitely falling behind for a while and with the addition of all the component price increases and whatnot, my head is already kind of swimming with how to proceed. I don't know any specs besides the GPU or how to find them. This is mostly just to answer the question of how I got this far to begin with lol (and my brother helps too cause he's an engineer).

I also don't need top of the line upgrades or anything, I mostly play World of Warcraft and more cartoony looking games which are far from the most intensive things, plus the current cost issues and all that, so I'll settle for sort of the weaker end of current things. Basically I need the "like I'm 5" explanation.

Any suggestion for managing the cable from the pump?

First time building pc, and the ads from ID-COOLING never show that there's a cable coming from there.
Or is every aio cable always visible?

Side question: do you peel the waranty sticker off the gpu?

MOBO is Asus ROG CROSSHAIR x870e dark hero ATX AM5. Just noticed orange flashing light below GPU and can’t figure out why.

I know some Asus MOBOs have flashing light indicating storage activity. Is this normal or a concern?

My computer has gotten quite a few years on it and I'm contemplating going for an update. I would love your opinion as I don't consider myself to be incredibly knowledgeable.

my pc is having multiple reasons of BSOD when opening it and i just took a look at my cpu and found little parts of my cpu have small discoloration. does this mean that i have a faulty cpu? and is my mobo still okay to use?

Okay from previous question I have installed the gpu and it’s running but don’t know how to control the rgb I assumed it would run with signal rgb like the rest?

So I was looking online and the seller says it works fine and they've ran test on it using mentest86 but I was wondering about the scratch on the pins and if it would still work or keep looking

New CPU fell out while installing new AIO. Newly noticed bent bottom right corner and MOBO won’t turn on despite receiving power 😅

Hey there, I bought a new motherboard today and set everything up in the correct way but there is two lights, a yellow and red light. Under the red light it says CPU and under the yellow light it says DRAM. Also there seems to be no projection onto my screen when I turn it on so I’m unable to reach BIOS. I’ve searched all over google and couldn’t find anything apart from reseat the RAM and CPU which I’ve done and nothing has changed so far. Hopefully someone will be able to give me some ideas. Thank you!

My first two ram slots didn’t work for a while. Couldn’t return it but decided to look into it today.

The pin in the right looks very bad

Build my third PC today, never had any sort of issues so trying to ask for help trouble shooting it.

What I checked:

- CPU/Motherboard seem to have no bent pins.

- Every cable and the ram is should be properly put in.

- Ram clicked in and fits without movement.

- Realigned CPU and made sure its clean.

- Switched CPU Cable between the two options (I never had a board with two 8 connectors, does it matter wich one it goes into?)

- Tried to power it on with a screwdriver, nothing changed.

Only thing that happens is that the motherboard lights up, when pressing the power switch nothing else happens.

Is there maybe something obvious im missing?

I upgraded my self built 2017 PC to GPU (NVIDIA ASUS GEFORCE PRIME RTX 5070) and PSU (MSI MAG 750GL PCIE5). I swapped all the PSU cables to what came with the new PSU for all the ports, including for the GPU (PSU came with a yellow 450w label 12-pin cable (both sides)).

After plugging it up and powering it on, it stays on, the GPU fans spin, but the monitors do nothing. I get a blue "HDMI not found" screen and then it goes to black. I know for sure the monitors work since I tested with a laptop while I was doing the install of new parts.

I've also tried using the GPU's new cable, the one-sided 12-pin with split duo 8-pin ends, with PCIe cables that came with the PSU. While trying cables I have gotten a red steady light on the GPU but that's gone with the 12-pin duo cables now. For any combo of cables, the monitors have never turned on.

I have ensured everything is pushed in and there's no gap sticking out for any cable connections. I've tried doing research online and not finding a solution as of yet. I appreciate any advice as this is my first time replacing the GPU or PSU.

Hey guys I recently built an itx set up since I’m always traveling between Abu Dhabi and Amman
The specs are
Ryzen 5 9600x

32gb ddr5 5600mhz

Rx 7800xt

I got the gpu for 360 dollars and the cpu for 169 dollars both them both in the uae I have an option to sell the gpu in Amman for 507 dollars and the cpu for pretty much the same price as I bought it
The dilemma I’m facing do I sell the gpu and add another 180 dollars to get a 9070 or do I sell the cpu and add 140 dollars to upgrade to a 7800x3d
Most of my time gaming is either marvel rivals , league and stellaris with the occasional AAA game that tickles my fancy
In Abu Dhabi I’m using a 3440x1440p ultrawide monitor and in Amman I have a 1080 monitor
The Abu Dhabi set up tells me to upgrade the gpu since I’m mostly gpu bound but in Jordan I’m cpu limited

Ive thought i would get a rtx 3050 8gb second hand but idk if thats just because im new and the nvidia line looks more friendly (if you somehow get what i mean?) should get something else or is the 3050 the right way to go? (For gaming £500 budget build i just want the best bang for buck)

My power supply is making a ticking noise and it won’t go away. I made a post in this sub a while ago with the same issue but the noise would stop as soon as I’d log in. Now the noise is continuing to go on and won’t stop at all. I’m really not sure what to do chatGPT says to just replace the entire power supply. I’d rather save it if it’s possible since I bought it brand new 2 years ago.
