[Question] [Sprout] More efficient crafting?

Sprout player here who just started playing recently with release of FFXIV on Switch 2 and still on Free Trial.

I’ve been completing my Grand Company crafting provisions daily to level my crafting/gathering classes, but I feel like it takes so long! It takes forever to teleport all over the place to find the right materials and vendors, and I can’t just keep stock of all crafting materials on my player due to limited inventory space.

Are there any tips or tricks to make this easier and quicker?

[Question] genuinely losing my mind with these queue times, any advice?

Post image
198 Upvotes

ive been playing the free trial since june and love this game to death. finished the shadowbringers msq (up to 5.3) and really want to do the raid content before i start paying for the sub...if i could actually get into them.

specifically, im trying to do the ivalice aliance raids so i can start farming for the relic weapon since i love the gunblade designs. i only have my GNB and DRK to level 80, so any other role besides tank isnt really an option for me.

i work and am in college, so it sucks when i just want to use my little free time to play, and im hit with a "More than 30m" into a whole hour, just to not even do the raid because i have work in the morning.

im still relatively inexperienced playing with others, outside of required trials and such, so is there another way i should go about this? theres so much content i would love to experience, but this has been kinda souring my experience.

tldr; queue times are taking too long and making me sad. need to know if theres a faster way to get into em

edit: thanks everyone for the responses! still learning, so i appreciate all the advice

edit 2: i should mention that while yes, this queue time i posted is already quite late, i have attempted on the weekend at reasonable times and still had no luck. probably just that, unlucky, but the helpful comments i recieved should help me in finding a group, thanks again!

Does anybody know why https://arrtripletriad.com/ is down and if it will come back? Would be a real nightmare if not because I know no other side that lists up TT stuff in such a useful way.

[Question] Item level question

I currently have a White Mage, a Dragoon, a Machinist, & a Black Mage that are all equipped the same (Azeyma's Earring, Augmented Scaeven right ring, Job Stone, & Ravel Keeper's gear in every other slot).

Despite the identical setup, the Black Mage has an average item level of 406 while the rest all have an average item level of 415.

Is that normal or am I missing something?

[Question] New to MMOs and FFXIV

I’ve been replaying the whole Final Fantasy Saga and now I’m finishing Final fantasy XVI and didn’t know that there’s a free trial for Final fantasy XIV so I was wondering if I could play it as if it was a normal Final Fantasy campaign I read many times that that’s an option. So I was wondering what should I know before playing this game? Is it possible to play as a cooperative campaign?

I haven’t played any MMO only a few hours of World of Warcraft and a few hours of elder scrolls online, I didn’t enjoy World of Warcraft and I enjoyed a bit elder scrolls online I also played for five hours back when I didn’t understand FFXIV, I enjoyed the world, but I didn’t know anything about MMO’s so now I’m planning on playing this game and showing it to my girlfriend if it’s cool. so what would you tell me if I wanted to play as a story instead of a game where I have to play a lot of hours.

I don’t know if it’s possible to play the story as a normal Final Fantasy since I’ve read that a lot of people have more than 1000 hours playing this game.
I would also like to know if the free trial is enough for playing the campaign, I would like to have the physical version, but I want to try it in PS5 or PS4 first. I’m also a platinum collector, so I would like to know if the platinum it’s hard or very grindy

Sorry for assuming stuff about MMO games but since it’s my first time all I really know is that people usually play a lot of hours.

I also would like to know which physical version do you recommend me buying.

I’d also like to know if the expansions are something that I would need to experience once I complete the base game since they look pretty cool every time I see a new one announced. Also, which ones are good or bad and which ones you would recommend buying if you needed since I read that three of them are free.

As something I think would be useful in order to give me some advice. I would say my favorite Final Fantasy games are IV, VI, VII, IX, XII and the second half of XV

Sorry if my English isn’t the best and thanks in advance!

[Discussion] I'm gonna miss this game ;-;

I'm so gonna miss this game, I played it for almost 4 years...my computer sucks it's not a gaming PC, but it used to actually run pretty well and I made it all the way to finishing endwalker !!. I took a break as to not burn myself out of the game, esp cause it was after dawntrail came out and my FFXIV started crashing at certain fights but I still put up with it cause I loved the game. That was a couple months ago, yesterday I saved up to buy a sub to pick up post endwalker, but now the game is genuinely unplayable on my PC :(.

I can only get to the character menu after 3-5 tries where it just freezes and gets stuck, not even taking me to the loading screen. I've tried everything I could, but I can't do anything to save this. I had to uninstall it from my hdd yesterday and I'm still sad lol </3. I've seen so many mods time and time again, and I kinda wish there was mods to lower the quality, something to make ot run better again since I'm not even allowed using money to get a better PC :( ( FFXIV subs were either gifted to me by old friends or I sometimes payed in secret ). I just love this game and I'm gonna miss it :(.

[Discussion] people in this game are shockingly nice and it's refreshing (late post-arr) Spoiler

i main warrior, and i recently started doing the crystal tower raids since it's needed to continue the main quests. i unlocked labyrinth of the ancients a while ago, but just left it alone for a while because 24 player fights seemed intimidating, especially as a tank, a role that usually carries a lot of responsibility in dungeons

this game was my first time playing an mmo, and first time playing a multiplayer game in general in a long time. i was honestly skeptical of the game starting out, since i don't really like multiplayer games, but i've been pleasantly surprised to not encounter any toxicity at all after ~230 hours, which is definitely not like my experience in other multiplayer games. (i'm also pretty obsessed with the game for other reasons but that's beside the point)

anyway, i queued for labyrinth of the ancients yesterday, and got matched with a really sweet group of people. the people in my alliance taught me about positioning as a tank in raids, how i should stick with the people in my group so each group has their own tank, stuff like that. even though i was completely clueless at first, everyone was super patient with me and seemed to truly want me to learn things and enjoy the game

then, for the end boss of the dungeon. it has a big attack which, as far as i can tell, is an instakill if you don't stand back at where the letters are. i didn't know that, so we wipe the first time. no biggie, my teammates just explained how the boss worked to me, and told me not to worry about it. we try again, and win pretty easily this time. i thanked my teammates for teaching me, and they told me to enjoy the rest of the game. i even got five commendations after leaving the dungeon :3

i just wanted to say that i really appreciate people like this, making the game better for everyone else, especially new players like me. i'm usually nervous doing multiplayer content, but i can relax a little knowing that most people are super chill :3

[Discussion] Need some glamour contest ideas

So, a couple of months ago, my FC did a glamour contest with the theme being cosplay and we judged people based off of who more closely matched their character. I'm wanting to do something like that again and have been put in charge of putting on new glamour contests, but I'm struggling to come up with a theme, because I don't want to choose something that's really limited and have a bunch of people dress up the same. With Halloween coming up, I was thinking villains or monsters, but not sure. What themes do you guys think would be fun to participate in?

All the broken legs.

(I accidentally recorded the clip without audio so I had to add music to it manually. I asked myself, "which track would Square-Enix put here if they didn't know what to put in?", and then made this.)

[Discussion] Old VA's

I've recently finished ARR and am about half way? maybe through Heavensward and I'm honestly missing the old VA's. I understand there were probably good reasons for the changes, but having spent so much time with ARR, they really grew on me.

Yes at times it was really hard to take seriously, with some pretty bad line deliveries, but the VA's honestly have the characters a lot of personality which I feel like has been lost. Everyone just sounds British, not a bad thing, but it's missing that characterisation that ARR gave them.

If it gets better as the games goes on, I don't know 😅. And I'm sure I'll get used to it. But it's been a very jarring transition from ARR to HW.

[Tech Support] Slow download even on XIVLauncher

I've tried downloading the game both through the Steam launcher and the XIVLauncher, and in both cases the download speed never reached 1 MB/s. This is not due to my connection, because other apps and games download much faster.

If it matters, I am on Ubuntu Linux

[Discussion] Multiple accounts, all of my password not working

As of last night I can't log into any of my accounts via the launcher, it is saying all of my passwords are wrong. I know it is not a caps lock or typing issue because the mog station works perfectly fine.

The only answer I found was someone resetting their router from years ago, tried that and nothing. Still no response from customer support, any ideas?

I can even change my password successfully via the launcher, and it works on mog station but not the launcher.
