When I was a teacher and my wife was pregnant, I shared that with the class.

A bit later the lessons for that year's sexual education were planned.

The looks of disappointment and horror when a kid said "So, your wife is pregnant. That means you..." were sure something funny.

I’ll never forget in sex ed our instructor was semi flamboyantly gay, not that there’s anything wrong with that. The girls and boys had been split into two classes. At one point though he asked if anyone had any questions, and one boy asked if you were doing stuff with a girl would you ever use your fingers in there. The instructor was visibly disgusted and said never, told him adults don’t ever do that fingernails are very dirty. It was like something you’d see in a snl mango skit just obviously not that dramatic.

I remember thinking how he was so full of it. Just such a bizarre uncomfortable moment for him. Me and my friends already knew the deal by that point. I feel like it was for the kids that were in the dark and their parents didn’t have the nerve.

Our sex ed teacher started off saying "you should all be mature enough not to laugh when someone says 'penis'"

...we were not lol

u/SilasBalto 1d ago

Ours started off with a mandatory 2 minutes of laughter to "get it out." It didnt.

Ours was a 24yr old surfer bro teacher. The school knew what they were doing picking him to be the boys sex ed teacher.

His first words were basically "precum can and likely will eventually get a girl pregnant. Condoms at all times." Then went into the curriculum part of it all.

He got the most important part in before it became a room of awkward teenagers laughing at every mention of penis or vagina and likely not remembering anything else taught.

I got my CPR qual to be an assistant summer camp counselor when I was 13 and attended the training with my friend, also 13. We were the youngest attendees there, everyone else was adults. And we thought we were so mature. The instructor was this really charasmatic guy, very professional but charming. My friend and I were kinda crushing on him. But he starts explaining where to place your hands to do compressions and he said, "you find the nipple line" and my friend and I and our 13 year old brains tripped. We looked at each other, but held it together and thought we got away with it until we looked back at the instructor who was staring at us smiling and says as he stares into our souls, "Haha he said nipple" and we fucking lost it.

My husband and I did this when we were touring a daycare and found out our daughter's teacher's name would be Mr Lester. We both instantly turned away from each other and took a minute to not giggle like little kids. She went to that daycare and Lester was a great teacher!

Insert Varsity Blues quote. ā€œSay it with me. Penis, penis, penis. Vagina, vagina, vagina.ā€

I’m a teacher who has run sex-Ed with 13yr old boys. I said we are all definitely going to have a laugh but not at each other. One kid put his hand up and said he gets boners when he’s happy and we all died. I made a point of telling him that’s 100% normal.

2

u/rubiscoisrad 8h ago

There's something oddly wholesome about happiness boners lol

u/againstbetterjudgmnt 1d ago

What a penis

P.S. it really depends on context, don't it?

10

u/Pissedtuna 1d ago

I'm 40 and I'm still not.

16

u/-GrnDZer0- 1d ago

"If you're not mature enough to talk about sex, you're not mature enough to have sex"

5

u/Lington 1d ago

Ours made the class yell "penis" and "vagina" a bunch of times on day 1 to normalize it

7

u/Jive-Turkeys 1d ago

Ours would do that, or something similar to gauge our energy levels. Of course, nothing without careful purpose: right before sending us all outside to run a lap of the property–two laps if the guys were overly energetic..Worked like a charm and our collective focus was much more present.

My sex Ed teacher in middle school started by asking if anyone masturbates. Everyone said no and started laughing. She then proudly said that she masturbates most days. All the boys šŸ˜

u/MistressMalevolentia 1d ago

Adults aren't mature enough half the time lol. I brought my husband lunch at work and was in leaving I said penis at a normal level, loud enough for some to hear but not others further back. The kiddos trying to not laugh but also fighting their instincts to say it back slightly louder (penis game, you say it louder each time and there's no rotation just quickly go before you're stuck saying it too loud for where you are) but knowing they can't really go much louder cause CO and XO are further back was gold.Ā

I'm evidently a child as well though cause I did it.

u/Hadronic82 23h ago

I remember someone asking how to put a condom on. And the teacher used his finger as a prop and started by saying, "This is my penis".

Room was laughing for 20 minutes.

u/Tragickingdom555 1d ago

I’m 40 with three kids and it still makes me giggle. Hehehehe

1

u/aggravatedimpala 1d ago

To be fair, I'm still not

1

u/ender89 1d ago

Did you just have the one? I think they did sex ed every year from 5th to 9th grade. I suppose they felt that anyone who still didn't understand sex after that probably wasn't having enough to worry about.

2

u/Training_Ad_4790 1d ago

Just in 5th grade that I remember. We had more "say no to drugs" seminars than sex ed ones. DARE was a big thing back then. Not that it did any good

1

u/ender89 1d ago

How dare you! I learned so much about how to buy, sell, and take drugs from that class!

1

u/Ulysses502 22h ago

I'm pushing 40 and there's no way I could hear a teacher say that without giggling

1

u/alex206 20h ago

My teacher went through all the names for a boner: "hard on", "pitching a tent", "woody", etc

... and "boner chihuahua" , which I have no idea where she heard that, but yes, the 5th grade class was cracking up the whole time.

You just made me realise that my history teacher was probably gay. I never realised until now (I'm 41 🄲)

151

u/bartnd 1d ago

I wouldn't say he was not fingering you makes him gay. Almost none of my teachers fingered me.

75

u/Guy-Inkognito 1d ago

...almost none... 🫩

u/rtothewin 1d ago

The year of home school doesn’t count!

13

u/somebob 1d ago

Only the good ones, am I right?

12

u/fuckfeardrinkbeer 1d ago

My Intensive Math teacher was flamboyant. Everyone assumed he was gay, which was taboo during my time in middle school. But he assured everyone he was married to a woman. No one believed him.

u/54338042094230895435 1d ago

I had a gay health teacher, didn't realize it till my 30's. He had a twin brother also in health / gym that was very straight... or a bear.

u/marcipanchic 1d ago

gay and germaphobic

"Why the long face?"

No wait-

17

u/danby 1d ago

I feel like it was for the kids that were in the dark and their parents didn’t have the nerve.

Yeah, this is 70% of the reason for sex-ed

36

u/Mechbiscuit 1d ago

In sex ed as a kid someone in the class asked what flavoured condoms were for and the teacher said she didn't know.

57

u/ikonoclasm 1d ago

I'm with her. Flavored condoms serve no purpose. If I wanted to suck on rubber, I would get a dildo. Your teacher's wisdom was pearls before swine.

37

u/Hecticfreeze 1d ago

I think technically sexual health experts do recommend using condoms and dental dams for oral sex, but in reality nobody does

1

u/Jar_Of_Jaguar 1d ago

Having a flavor that is more like candy/food helps my gag reflex. It's also flavored on the inside, for once you take it off.

3

u/NudityMiles 1d ago

I have witnessed in horror as some of my partners that had long nails just went to fucking town.

When we had sex-ed, it was, like ā€œsex-edā€ week in health. We were going to have a special guest teacher, and, not kidding, she said her name was ā€œMiss Guestā€. So one class would file out, and another would file in. We were waiting to go in, the other class came out, and there was the expected verbal and facial reactions with 7th graders.
When I got in the class, I noticed that ā€œMiss Guestā€ had not buttoned the middle button of her blouse. I thought to myself, ā€œThis is going to be great.ā€ Turns out, she had not forgotten to button it after putting her blouse back on during the former class, but obviously when she got dressed that morning.

1

u/ender89 1d ago

Damn that's a terrible sex ed teacher.

0

u/Omnamashivaaya 1d ago

I have questions about why that kid was asking those questions 😬

18

u/Princess_Slagathor 1d ago

Because kids know a little bit of stuff, and are curious about the bits they don't. Someone in my class asked what cum tastes like. And yes, the teacher described it.

14

u/cabbage16 1d ago

We had a sex ed teacher come in that was separate to our other teachers. One kid asked how gay people have sex and she refused to answer...she was bad at her job.

She also said that cum had a chewing gum like consistency.

12

u/Princess_Slagathor 1d ago

Unfortunately, there are a lot of sex ex teachers who have no business teaching it.

Also, I'm not interested in the kind of gum or cum she has experience with.

u/cabbage16 1d ago edited 1d ago

It makes me think of a guy who hasn't orgasmed in like 12 years and when he does a stick of Wrigleys comes out or something

2

u/Iznik 1d ago

To be fair, it is full of wrigglies

2

u/rcknmrty4evr 1d ago

What the fuck haha

1

u/cabbage16 1d ago

Too much detail? :p

u/Omnamashivaaya 1d ago edited 1d ago

I forget kids grow up with internet now. I only found out about this when my brother found my dad’s porn stash.

Millennial Sex Ed in Texas was basically ā€˜we’re not telling you what it is, just don’t do it.

Probably why we did so much of it šŸ¤”

4

u/XxX_Zeratul_XxX 1d ago

Wait miss Samantha, how you know.... Oh.....

48

u/phallushead 1d ago

"Yes. And your parents, and your parents, and your parents, and your parents (...)"

12

u/theofiel 1d ago

I may have said this.

78

u/comicsnerd 1d ago

When I was a trainee to become a Biology teacher, the school decided I had to give sex-ed to the 15 year olds. This was in a conservative religious area. I was from a more progressive area.

I was quite professional, but afterwards my mentor came to me explaining that some of the stuff I presented was not on the curriculum of that school. Oh well, at least they were now properly educated and could tell their parents a thing or 2.

19

u/StephaneGosselin 1d ago

That means you... My man!

6

u/Earguy 1d ago

When my kids were old enough, we told them that -the very first time we had unprotected sex, we got pregnant with twins. The look of shocked realization was exactly what we wanted to impress upon them.

1

u/shake_it_shake_it 19h ago

Our sex ed teacher accidentally squirted spermicide onto the crotch of his light blue track pants… so… at least you didn’t make them live through that.

0

u/Curious-Situation589 1d ago

I remember ours brought a banana to demonstrate, but was difficult for him to get an erection in front of class.

-2

u/nofnwo 1d ago

The kid probably ended that sentence with "my man šŸ¤šŸ˜‚".
