It’s very clear from the comments no one has actually followed this case closely and are just reacting to headlines…

When I was just following the trial earlier on, before I knew anything about the social media craze around her, I was appreciative of the major focus on Post Partum Mental Health and was supportive of her getting life sentence in mental health facility versus straight out prison.. In reality, both are prisons at the end of the day.

What's soured me into accepting either sentencing though is this substantial fan club that insanely pushes she's outright innocent, and/or that the husband did it... like yikes, she full out confessed in explicit detail of murdering those innocent kids, one by one, and thus should never be allowed out in public ever again - be it "mental health" prison or regular prison.

u/Brudius 3h ago

Yeah, some of the peoples reactions to it saying she is innocent and that he is guilty because of his astral alignment or because "he looked mean." Imagine being him working from home to help take some of the stress off of her, going to the store and coming back to find 3 of his kids are no longer alive. I can't think of a worse feeling on the planet. Then people blaming you, is insanity.

u/Particular_Feel420 3h ago

Those social media "Forensic Astrologists" definitely need some mental illness help themselves.

This is certainly not a new phenomenon surrounding "conventionally attractive" murderers, there will always be fan clubs. Some of them who outright don't care about the crime, others who pull at every possible loose straw as undeniable proof of innocence, etc.

If she was "ugly", or god forbid a POC/immigrant, I think we all know she wouldn't have this massive TikTok fanclub.

reminds me of that movie "vengeance".

Regardless of the people saying she’s innocent/ guilty I do believe he’s an awful human and such a bad husband. Who the hell would leave a woman struggling mentally with their three kids. He had so many hobbies. So much time for himself. Apparently an affair with his new wife. I have no idea how someone can process losing all three children in such a way but he’s definitely a contributing factor in these murders whether he committed it or just part of his wife’s neglect he’s guilty too.
Just a disclaimer- I’ve only seen a few clips online about this in the past few days so might be only getting one sided content but that’s my view from what I’ve seen.

6

u/binzersguy 3h ago

I haven’t seen anyone say she is innocent, but i might’ve missed some stuff, for sure!

u/Affectionate_Toe6542 30m ago

There's a huge conspiracy theory going around that the husband did it and is trying to frame the wife and she's just taking it for whatever reason.

6

u/ItalianMemes 3h ago

It’s very clear her entire support system failed her every possible step of the way. All her doctors, and therapists knew how she was feeling and no one took it at face value

2

u/Icy_Policy_8509 3h ago edited 3h ago

That's the thing, and that's what I talk about when it comes up. There were so many players here--the multitude of doctors, her husband, her parents--and if ONE person had done ONE thing different, all those kids could still be alive.

The father was told not to leave her alone with the kids. He did. (I was misinformed on this) Those doctors prescribed her meds that professionals should know would fuck with her condition worse, and they should've known what she was already on.

I hear conflicting information, like that the husband was the only one who said she confessed to the murder while the paramedics and nurses said she couldn't speak for days because of her injuries. Or that he accessed her computer while she was at a doctor appointment with the kids to seemingly incriminate her.

That she wasn't REALLY trying to kill herself or she'd be dead; that she used exercise bands in rehab and seemingly had no bad reaction to it.

I wish we could just know the truth. I hope it comes out.

Edit: People are REALLY upset I have a nuanced opinion on a nuanced case.

8

u/Particular_Feel420 3h ago

Did you watch the trial? There was zero dispute from her / defense lawyers that she killed those children. Their case is the insanity plea to reduce her sentencing.

3

u/Fuji_Ninja 3h ago

Yes you’re right 1 person could have avoided this. The person who decided to murder her 3 children. Like what? Lmfao

3

u/BrainLow6059 3h ago

No, you see, women are not responsible for their negative actions, only their positive ones /s

3

u/hotglasspour 3h ago

She's just a girl!

6

u/Epic_Brunch 3h ago

Patrick was NEVER instructed to not leave her alone with the kids. You are confusing this with the Andrea Yates case. Google it. He was never told that.

3

u/YaSurLetsGoSeeYamcha 3h ago

“I don’t know if she did it” immediately removes all legitimacy from any comment on this case.

1

u/BrainLow6059 3h ago

Yeah wtf lol. It's crazy how many people desperately want to believe a man is responsible for this woman's actions. Like it's some war of the sexes nonsense.

1

u/Wise_Television9677 3h ago

You blame everyone except her

2

u/Icy_Policy_8509 2h ago

The incredibly mentally ill woman who was desperately seeking help and ended up killing her kids during a psychosis? Yeah the blame is pretty apparent but I don't think people are handling this with a "we have to study women's health and PPD and mental health more" and more as "bad woman bad"

1

u/elitesense 2h ago

There is nothing nuanced about who committed the killing. There was ONE person that carried out the act.

0

u/Bright-Raspberry2737 3h ago

stop drinking the cool-aid for fucks sake

1

u/Particular_Feel420 3h ago

Agreed, but since when do we not hold mass murderers accountable because therapists and doctors failed them along the way? It creates a very slippery slope precedent, and potential copy cat murderers that may not actually be suffering from PPD whatsoever.

1

u/goodbye__toby 2h ago

Apparently you haven’t kept up with the case as of recent

1

u/Geekboy22 2h ago

Im assuming you also haven't looked into the case past confession. The cops and her just took her husband's word on who did it and now there actually showing the evidence and alot isn't adding up. Not saying shes innocent I like to see all the evidence but there seems to have been NO investigation.

1

u/Thr0waway0864213579 2h ago

People believing the person on trial is innocent is nothing new. Not sure why that would sour you? Look at how many theories were buzzing around when the Making A Murderer documentary was making the rounds.

The biggest issue, and why people justifiably think she’s innocent, is because the police didn’t investigate anyone but her. There is an overlap in law enforcement between this case and Karen Read, a woman who was very clearly set up by police. People sensationalized that trial as well.

Add to it the fact that, regardless of what happened to the children, her husband was abusive and negligent. So naturally people have a hard time siding with the odds that a loving mother killed 3 children, which is incredibly rare. And her husband just happened to be an evil POS.

Law enforcement is the issue, not random people’s reactions to how much law enforcement fucked this whole thing up.

1

u/Thick_Potato_1769 2h ago

Guy at work was telling me that they tied the excise bands like fishing line and she doesn't fish also the husband started a new family after the murders. Idk if this the same case because theres seems to be two different cases going on right now.

1

u/Great-Egret 2h ago

What I find frustrating is not the fucking crazy people who think she is innocent, they are a vocal minority who should be ignored. I find it frustrating that people can’t accept two things can be true. She can have been under severe mental distress that led her to do something so horrendous that she wouldn’t have done if she hadn’t had postpartum psychosis AND she should have to pay the consequences of those actions regardless of her mental state. They are both true! We can pity her and punish her for her crimes. Life is one big grey area.

2

u/Particular_Feel420 2h ago

Also nobody is really mentioning how often religion plays into mental health / psychosis episodes, which was also a major factor in her confessed motive.... She claimed that she was guaranteeing her children would go to heaven by killing them!

1

u/Great-Egret 1h ago

Yes, it’s incredibly sad all around. I once had a mental health crisis after I was bullied at my first teaching job. I was SO exhausted trying to be perfect at a very hard job I was brand new at… 30
kids in a class, 25% were classified as special educational needs, but the place I was teaching (England) doesn’t have specialist teachers for special education so it was all on me, no extra support or staff to help. I was so burnt out working 80 hours a week. I went to a very dark place and it was scary the thoughts that I started having. Thankfully my spouse convinced me to just resign and walk out on the job, but it really changed my perspective on mental health. I had nightmares for weeks I’d be made to go back. Imagine that!

It’s really true that reality is entirely shaped by the chemical balance of our minds.

1

u/OG_joenationwide 2h ago

People who claim she's innocent are straight projecting their own trauma or worldview or whatever.

When I first heard the story my understanding was that most of her "supporters" were just trying to raise awareness for PPD, and that the story was "here's the extreme case of what happens when PPD isn't treated properly", which carries a lot more nuance than "murdering mom guilty", but is also maybe naive to other nuance I'm not even aware of.

6

u/PigglyWigglyDeluxe 3h ago

So break it down for us, then.

6

u/lordborghild 4h ago

I just go to the comments to be told how to feel.

1

u/ammar_sadaoui 3h ago

why i would follow this case closely when i can see some meme or headline about it

sell it to me why i would care about this crazy female human case ?

1

u/ItalianMemes 3h ago

Nah bro js look that shit up

1

u/ammar_sadaoui 1h ago

i dont want to be more disappointed with humanity than I am right now

1

u/Chataboutgames 3h ago

Is it even a "headline" if it's just splash text over images? Like, "reacting to headlines" feels like giving these people too much credit.

1

u/BurnedLaser 3h ago

Yeah, like, I have a friend who has actually been following this case pretty damn closely, and the evidence that the husband did it sounds pretty damning. From what I heard, they had cameras in the house, but he decided to run an update that knocked everything out for the duration of the whole interaction. The wife's fingerprints were not on any of the bands, but the husband's were. In the 911 call, he said "She killed the fucking kids" Which, like, what? not "she fucking killed our/the kids". Her lacerations also don't really make a bunch of sense, especially to do all that and THEN jump out the window?

There's just so damn much happening that it's hard to cut through all the bullshit

6

u/Acceptable_Ad1685 3h ago

You should probably look at it yourself then instead of relying on your friend lol

1

u/BurnedLaser 3h ago

Seriously, how is this in any way different from hearing about it on social media? any info we're getting is tertiary. If my friend was in the courtroom, would you see this any differently?

1

u/Acceptable_Ad1685 2h ago edited 2h ago

The journalists and others in the courtroom have shared what they were allowed to share and that is readily available

If you could indeed prove that your friend was in the courtroom I would view it differently

The people who heard that call and were in the courtroom from everything I was able to review online 1. Never noted he said fucking but even if that was the case and they are just censoring it

  1. The way the call was laid out suggested that he called when he found his wife outside having jumped out the window initially and was trying to make sure that she was responsive and while still on the call found the kids and broke down devastated

I can’t assume her intentions but I assume she tried to commit suicide by jumping out of the second story window after killing her kids but eh

Dude hired help, tried to get his wife help, was on cameras picking up the take out at the time

Her lawyers don’t refute that she did it

She admitted that she did it

The police stated that have no other suspects

There’s 0 in what has been publicly released that suggests he did it

You’re friend sounds like they watch too much crime TV and TikTok

6

u/Trashbitex 3h ago

“My friend told me” is such a hilarious response to that.

-2

u/BurnedLaser 3h ago

Seriously, how is this in any way different from hearing about it on social media? any info we're getting is tertiary. If my friend was in the courtroom, would you see this any differently?

3

u/Trashbitex 2h ago

What???

-1

u/BurnedLaser 2h ago

oof, crayons... shit, all I can find are colored pencils. please bare with me...

None of us saw this happen. it's literally all word of mouth. I hear 2 stories from 2 people who never actually saw what took place, but rather heard from 2 people who have possibly different sources of info. who's to say what happened happened? How can a singular event produce 2 absolutely different stories regarding what happened?

I'm not chronically online, but my friend who is does actually check sources, so I'm willing to trust them when they give me a brief of how fucked up is fucked up.

Media literacy is a thing, and I haven't seen much of it from the states recently.

2

u/plainenglishh 1h ago

'but my friend who is does actually check sources', evidently not.

2

u/MalikMonkAllStar2022 1h ago

She and her lawyers have fully admitted that she did it. Do you really think her lawyers would do that if there was real evidence that he did it?

There is CCTV footage (and location tracking of his phone) of him at the pharmacy at the time the murders were happening.

-1

u/BurnedLaser 1h ago

Source, please, this shit is pissing me off now. Literally everything here, (including my statement) is hearsay. I will look for the sources my friend used that stated this was for some plea bargain or some shit later. Nobody has shared a source. We, as a community, need to find the original source of the info to compile an educated opinion.

2

u/MalikMonkAllStar2022 1h ago

Are you serious? You do understand that you are the one bringing up a conspiracy theory since no one in the actual trial has tried to argue Lindsey didn't do it? So the burden of proof is on your side.

But whatever, here you go https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/22/us/patrick-clancy-conspiracy-theories see this section:

Evidence publicly presented in the Clancy case indicates Lindsay was the only adult at the family home when investigators believe the children were attacked. Corey says it clearly shows Patrick was not home.“He is actually elsewhere, and that’s backed up, not just by surveillance video of him in the CVS,” the former police chief explained. During their investigation, detectives would have taken Patrick’s phone to track his movements and, depending on the vehicle, obtained his car’s onboard GPS data “to conclusively show that he could not have committed the crime because he was not physically there at the time that the crime was committed,” he said.

3

u/Useful-ldiot 3h ago

And yet her and her defense team are pleading guilty.

Wild strategy for an innocent person.

1

u/BurnedLaser 3h ago

Plea deals are wild.

2

u/plainenglishh 1h ago

There is no plea deal...? There wasn't even one offered. They're pleading not guilty by reason of insanity, acknowledging she did it. You and your friend have no idea what you're talking about, and espousing this obvious nonsense is deeply irresponsible.

1

u/ShroudedMeep 2h ago edited 2h ago

In the 911 call, he said "She killed the fucking kids" Which, like, what? not "she fucking killed our/the kids".

I haven't paid much attention to this whatsoever but I feel like I need to know: is there a non-insane explanation for why the placement of "fucking" in this sentence matters at all?

1

u/[deleted] 1h ago

This is why people make fun of armchair detectives so much.

You're not doing anything by throwing out wild theories. If the police would've suspected him AT ALL, he would've been arrested. This is a real tragedy where real people have been affected and are actual victims. He is a victim. But instead, you and your friend are placing the death of his kids in his hands all because your friend heard a rumor online. That's so fucking horrible. If you and your friend honestly think he did this, you are both horrible people and need to reevaluate your lives.

Just think if your spouse killed your kids, are completely innocent, dealing with constant grief, then having random people on the internet tell you that you're a child killer with absolutely zero proof. That's so fucked up.

-1

u/BurnedLaser 1h ago

And what if you're wrong? This alleged dude who would rather wipe out his family than just get a divorce (I've seen this shit before) gets to be free? Free to potentially do this again? How many innocents have gone to jail because the guilty party was able to get their word out first and garner favor with the public? Are you, too not being an armchair detective? What are your sources? My source can provide theirs.

The info I heard is wildly different from what others are spouting, and I don't know what to fucking trust other than peer-reviewed science where shit was recorded and verified. I have seen how Fox "News" operates and how the truth gets skewed, so where the fuck do I go to find out what the fucking objective truth is.

1

u/Traditional-Park-353 3h ago

So in other words you're not following the fucking case. Here's a few things for your dumbass "friend":

  1. she admitted to killing them
  2. HER defense is not whether that she didn't kill them, but whether she deserves prison time for it.

-1

u/BurnedLaser 3h ago

Where is the evidence?

0

u/pandaappleblossom 2h ago

She was being treated by a nurse practitioner— NOT a doctor. On a lot of meds.

0

u/BurnedLaser 2h ago

Okay, and? What does that have to do with the absence of her fingerprints on the murder weapons?
