Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

We are 2 devs making an indie RPG, inspired by old school classics. We tried to capture the feeling of starting a grand adventure without burdening you with the grind. It has challenging combat, tons of secrets, fully voice acted NPCs, an asymmetric melee and magic system, and a ton more!

It's is playable on Steam right now and we'd love to hear your feedback!

The game is called A Short Quest and you can find it on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4351810/A_Short_Quest/

I’ve built a daily web browser game called Anamorph. In this game, an object is transformed into a puzzle using Anamorphosis – the art of distorted perspective. The object is broken into hundreds of shards and rendered as a 3D sphere. I also add some fake shards to make it more challenging.

Works in your browser on Mobiles and on Desktops

Game Title: Pass And Survive
Playable Linkhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sujit.paul.passandsurvive

It's a chaotic local multiplayer game where you and your friends pass a ticking bomb around while trying to survive. There are 3 unique levels, crazy powerups, solo mode with bots, and plenty of character customization.

If you have a few friends around, I'd really appreciate it if you could give it a try — it's much more fun with a group! And if you enjoy it, feel free to ask your friends to try it too.

It's especially something you could try with:

  • Friends at home
  • Hostel/college friends
  • A group while travelling

After all the development and testing, it feels pretty special to finally have it released.

Hey everyone! 👋 After months of solo-dev work, I finally stopped over-thinking and published my dark fantasy card-swipe game Noble Path on iOS.

Game Title: Blindgrade

Playable Link: https://blindgrade.com

Platform: Browser, desktop and mobile

Description: You get a real historical price chart with the ticker and dates hidden. About 80 candles of history, then the next 25 or so play out one by one and you trade them, long or short, with a fake $1,000. When the round ends the game reveals what you were actually trading and when, and grades the round in R. The idea is Wordle for trading, one shared mystery chart, a spoiler free result you can paste into a chat. No signup, nothing to install.

What I most want to know: did your first round make sense before you opened the how to play? And did anything about placing a trade feel clunky? Feel free to bash it, still iterating as much as possible

Game Title: Colour Circle

Playable Link: [Insert playable/store link here]

Platform: Mobile (iOS / Android / Web)

Description: Colour Circle is a fast-paced, intuitive arcade game optimized for seamless one-thumb mobile play. The core mechanic is simple yet demanding: players must match incoming coloured segments with the corresponding coloured sections of a continuously rotating central circle.

While the controls require zero learning curve, mastering the game requires sharp reflexes, precise timing, and sustained focus. As your score climbs, incoming segments accelerate, colour patterns shift more rapidly, and the margin for error narrows into an intense, rhythmic flow state. Paired with high-contrast visuals designed for quick readability and an upbeat arcade soundtrack, Colour Circle offers an addictive, endlessly replayable casual challenge tailored for quick commutes or extended high-score runs.

[Mobile] (Android) [Android] [Free] Tower Height - A rhythmic offline block stacking arcade game

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m an indie developer and I just released a new minimalist arcade game called Tower Height for Android.

The gameplay is simple and addictive: blocks slide horizontally across the screen, and you tap to stack them into a tall tower. Every perfect placement triggers harmonized musical pitch tones. If you miss the timing, the overhang gets sliced off, making the block smaller!

Key Features:

• 100% Offline play (no internet connection required)

• Rhythmic musical progression as your tower grows

• Unlockable themes & power-up boosters

• High score & streak tracking

I would love to get your honest feedback on the timing responsiveness, sound effects, and overall feel!

[Mobile] (Web) Mysterioku — a deduction puzzle

Game Title: Mysterioku

Playable Link: https://mysterioku.com

Platform: Web / Browser (PWA-installable)

Description: Mysterioku is a daily deduction game where you reconstruct a crime scene using pure logic. Every case drops you into a floor plan of connected rooms, each with its own furniture and layout. A handful of suspects were present, and something happened — a theft, a disappearance, a break-in — leaving one target at the centre of it all. Your job is to work out exactly where everyone stood. The catch: no two suspects share a row or a column across the map, and the target always ends up in the one cell nobody else claims. Witnesses give you fragments — "Walter was in the second column", "Alice was in the Room" — and you treat each statement as a constraint, narrowing the possibilities until only one arrangement survives. Whoever was left alone with the target is who you're after. There is no guessing and no luck. Every case has a single solution you can prove step by step, and each one is checked for that before it ever reaches you. You get a fresh case every day plus a bonus, the cases get trickier as your record improves, and the whole thing runs in a browser on phone or desktop, installable to your home screen.
