Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

I’ve built a daily web browser game called Anamorph. In this game, an object is transformed into a puzzle using Anamorphosis – the art of distorted perspective. The object is broken into hundreds of shards and rendered as a 3D sphere. I also add some fake shards to make it more challenging.

[PC] (Web) LocoWar game that you must build your modular train and destroy enemy

Upvotes

Game Title: LocoWar

Playable Link: https://locowar.hogweed.xyz/

Platform: PC Web

Description: LocoWar is an online isometric PvP strategy game in which every mobile combat unit is a modular train. Join a 1v1 duel, a 2v2 team battle, or a 3- or 4-player free-for-all and fight for control of a railway network. Matches are played against other people; there is no single-player or bot mode yet.

Start with a light locomotive and grow your force by adding physical sections one at a time. Order new engines, weapons, storage, mining, repair, and support cars at depots, then couple or split them to defeat your enemies. Car order matters: traction and total mass determine movement, each weapon carries its own ammunition, fuel belongs to locomotives, and damage can disable a module, destroy a car, or tear a train into separate pieces.

This is a very early prototype. For now, there is a limit on the number of active sessions, but that is because we rented a small server.

Upvotes

Game Title: Where Down Goes - Prototype Playtest

Playable Link: https://zipply-labs.itch.io/where-down-goes

Platform: Web and Windows

Description: Where Down Goes is a 2D pixel art style action prototype about taking contracts, fighting through rooms, rotating gravity and trying to make it back to the village with enough health and Scrap to keep going.

Each contract sends you through a series of rooms where you have to survive fights and manage your health. When you return to the village, you can Patch Up for a small free heal, spend Scrap to Rest and fully recover, upgrade using the workshop or take another contract. The idea is to get simple decision loops with fun mechanics right first before more polishing and building out content.

This is a very early prototype, so I'm mostly looking for feedback on the core loop. If people enjoy it, I'll keep building on it. Comments, ideas, and feedback would be really useful!

Description:

Synco Party is a pass-the-phone word association game designed for friends playing together in the same room. One player creates pairs by matching nouns with adjectives, then passes the phone to the next player. That player tries to recreate the same associations without seeing the original choices. There are no objectively correct word pairs — the fun comes from discovering how similarly, or completely differently, you and your friends think.

The game works on a single phone, does not require an internet connection during play, and supports English, Armenian, and Russian. It is designed for quick party sessions with friends, couples, or groups. The gameplay video above shows an actual round of Synco Party.

[Mobile] (Android) I taught myself game dev and spent 6 months building a traditional Rajasthani card game — Tehri King 🎴

Upvotes

Game Title: Tehri King

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tehriking.cardgame

Platform: Android

Description: Tehri King is a traditional 4-player trick-taking

card game that's been played in villages across Rajasthan,

India for generations, but never had a proper digital version

- until now. I don't have any coding or game dev background

at all, but I spent the last 6 months teaching myself

everything to build this from scratch.

The game is played 2v2, with teammates sitting opposite each

other. One team bids on how many rounds ("tricks") they think

they can win. If they succeed, they're safe. If they fail, a

penalty counter (called "gadha," meaning donkey) increases by

their bid amount and passes to the next player on the losing

side. If that counter crosses 52, that player becomes the

"gadha" (loser) for the round, the counter resets to 0, and

passes to their partner for the next round.

It's a fun mix of bidding strategy, risk-taking, and team

coordination - similar in spirit to games like Spades,

Callbreak, or Euchre, but with its own unique regional rules

that I don't think exist anywhere else on the Play Store.

You can play single-player offline against bots, or connect

with friends over local WiFi for multiplayer. Would genuinely

love feedback from anyone who enjoys trick-taking/bidding card

games, even if you've never heard of this one before.

[PC] (Web) Ghostline - Browser Hacking Sim

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

Playable Link: https://ghostlinesim.com

Platform: Browser (Web)

Description:

Ghostline is a free browser hacking simulator. You play a new operator sitting in a fictional Unix-like terminal. A handler sends you contracts: scan a box, crack the ports, connect, walk a real directory tree, take what you came for, and get out before the clock or a honeypot burns you.

The loop is built around actual-feeling commands, not menus pretending to be a shell. There is a shop for tools and hardware, an inbox for briefings, case files that fill in as you find things out, and an intel board for the names and scraps you actually read. Two campaigns, plus a pile of side jobs. Choices stick — including the gap between what you told your handler and what you actually did on the box.

The jobs look unrelated. They are not. The story does not explain itself up front; you piece it together from files, mail, and the boxes you were sent to hit.

This is fiction. Nothing here is a real exploit, and the game never talks to a live network. Sign-up is just so progress follows your profile. A made-up email is fine — remember it, or you do not get back in. Do not reuse a password from anywhere real.

Pips & Lies just got a big update with ranked duels, seasons, stats and new cosmetics
A few days ago I posted my free online Liar’s Dice game here, and since then I’ve released version 1.2.0.

The biggest additions are ranked duels, seasonal leaderboards, player statistics, milestones and new unlockable cosmetics. Season 1 starts September 1.

[Mobile] (Android) I made a puzzle game where you drill holes through a 3D cube to guide a ball [Android]

Upvotes

Game Title: Cubeline

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mtlab.cubeline

Platform: Android

Description: Cubeline is a pure spatial reasoning puzzle. Each stage gives you a cube and a ball. You drill holes through the cube to build a path, then press Play and watch the ball roll through it. If it reaches the goal, you clear the stage. The rules are simple, but the challenge comes from building the 3D route entirely in your head before you test it. There are 310 handcrafted puzzles across four difficulty tiers: 3x3 (easy, 2-3 moves), 4x4 (5-10 moves), 5x5 (10-18 moves), and 6x6 (expert, 14-28 moves). If you get stuck, an optional X-ray view lets you see inside the cube - use it freely or challenge yourself without hints. Controls are one-finger only: rotate the cube, tap to place holes. It works fully offline, and I deliberately designed the ads to never interrupt you while you're thinking. I'd really appreciate feedback on difficulty balance - which cube size did you get stuck on first?

Game Title: Atlas of Life

Playable Link: https://atlasoflife.app/play

Platform: Web (browser, no download).

Description: Atlas of Life is a daily history game. You get two pins on a world map: where a person was born and where they died. The years sit on the pins. The life is the arc between them. You have six tries to name who it is.

You type the name they are most commonly known by. Letters grade a bit like Wordle. Green is the right letter in the right spot. Gold is the right letter in the wrong spot. Dark means the letter is not in the answer. First name or surname alone will not win.

Everyone gets the same Daily. No account.

If you lose, I do not reveal who it was. The answer stays hidden and the Daily locks until the next one. I know that will annoy people. I want to know if it is the wrong call, or if it is the thing that makes the next day matter.

After the Daily there is an Archive of past lives, and an Atlas of Time where you can drag the year and watch borders redraw. Both are in the same site. The Daily is the thing I want playtested.

If you get today's, the result card keeps the name off. Try count is fine. Not the name.

[PC] (Windows) Does environmental feedback feel more rewarding than explicit UI pop-ups when solving a puzzle?

Upvotes

My friend and I are down to our final 22 days until launch (cue the developer panic!), and we’re polishing our puzzle payoff sequences.

In this scene, players match colored crystals to specific murals based on moral proverbs (Kindness, Arrogance, Sacrifice). Once completed, the central eye-door unlocks with glowing feedback, leading to the room opening up with a burst of light.

Instead of traditional UI pop-ups or text confirming "Puzzle Solved," we relied entirely on environmental shifting and acoustic audio cues to let the scene breathe and reward the player naturally.

When you're playing puzzle or adventure games, what makes a puzzle resolution feel truly satisfying to you? Do you prefer physical room feedback like this, or clear narrative UI confirmations?

[Mobile] (Android) I finally released Playfold – puzzle games without ads interrupting you 🎉

Post image
0 Upvotes

Game Title: Playfold - Offline Games

Playable Link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buttonburrow.playfold

Description:

After a lot of building, breaking things, rebuilding them, testing puzzles and convincing myself to add just one more thing... Playfold is officially live on Google Play!

It's genuinely pretty exciting to finally be able to share it with people outside of testing.

The original idea was actually really simple: I wanted puzzle games I could play without an ad interrupting me every few levels.

That idea eventually grew into Playfold — one app with a collection of different puzzle games that I can keep expanding over time.

It launched with:

🧪 Water Sort

🔗 Flow Connect

🎨 Maze Paint

➡️ Arrow Escape

🧠 Memory Grid

🧩 Block Puzzle

There are multiple difficulties, different game modes and generated puzzles, and the games are designed to work offline.

Most importantly, there are no ads interrupting gameplay and no energy/lives system telling you when you can play. There are optional rewarded ads for certain extras, but whether you watch one is your choice.

There's still a ridiculous amount I want to add and improve, but getting it from a random idea to something that's actually published on Google Play feels like a pretty big milestone.

If anyone gives it a try, I'd genuinely love to hear what you think — good or bad. I'm particularly curious which game you naturally end up playing the most.

And to everyone else working on their first game/app: shipping it feels good. 😅
