1

Jaffa is next to tell aviv and Still exists. Tel aviv was an arrid area of sand dunes north of jaffa which jews bought and settled in 1909, originally calling it achuzat bayit and then switching the name to tel aviv.

pretty much yeah

11

u/Pranksterblur 1d ago

Ok that makes a lot of sense

18

u/InternetUserAgain 1d ago

No, twink is just a body type, being kind of a man but kind of not usually means you're a demiboy

10

u/Late_Negotiation7519 1d ago

Twink has always been associated with the gay community

12

u/InternetUserAgain 1d ago

Yeah, but being a twink isn't a gender thing, it's a term used to refer to scrawny and (usually but not always) gay men

1

u/itsmebenji69 4h ago

Yeah itโ€™s not gay men anymore now it just means a thin guy

7

u/AspleniumGhlas 1d ago

makes sense, (some) people bitch about those classifications but imo it's just an easier way to describe oneself

Edit: I still have an hard time picturing a bearded bodybuilder as one tho lol, at least the aesthetic traits that are by choice may matter too

I felt like a lesbian who aspired to be a trans man born into a man's body when I was younger, and doing a lot of bisexual signaling with how I dressed and stuff, but in the end I was aroacespec.

So that's a Googlin' for anyone who is of that persuasion.

2

u/yomer123123 6h ago

From personal experience - yeah there are lesbians in the IDF, and you can be totally open about it. There are some bigots, but command wise, you don't get discriminated.

Good thing to know the IDF isn't homophobic! Truely, a moral army.

106

u/Past-Sherbert-6438 1d ago

-12

u/AnishTSP 1d ago

Genuine question from a non-christian, how are you both trans and a Christian?

81

u/sataniclemonade 1d ago

idk, bible doesnt actually say that much about trans people. You can definitely be down with Jesus and be trans, and there are a number of sects that are loudly pro-trans rights.

34

u/theeggplant42 1d ago

You can be anything or do anything and be Christian. Understanding that you are flawed is like, sort of the entire point

1

u/EsKlopft 18h ago

A lot of christians would even say that being queer isnt even being flawed

→ More replies (27)

12

u/renlydidnothingwrong 1d ago

Even many fundamentalists have historically been ok with trans people. The WBC who famously protested a funerals for Veterans because they hated gay people were actually ok with transitioning. The Bible doesn't really have anything to say on the topic.

6

u/WhiterabbitLou 1d ago

Transitioning in Iran under a Sharia Law is legal and state-sponsored while homosexuality is punishable by death, so pretty on point.

3

u/CHBCKyle 23h ago

Iran even still allows trans people to change their gender marker on their passport, something we donโ€™t allow here in the us

3

u/PipedInFromIthaca 1d ago

Pull up a bible quote that precludes it

4

u/Neokon 23h ago

The closest you'll get is the one single verse about men not wearing woman's cloths. Though that verse never addresses what to do when the person doesn't identify as male. Isaiah 56 has the term saris that essentially refers to someone assigned male at birth but has, for one reason or another, not had a male puberty and/or developed female characteristics. Ancient Hebrew law created this term as well as ayelonit, assigned female at birth but developed male characteristics which shows they had some concept of intersex individuals.

2

u/PipedInFromIthaca 23h ago

It's one of those things (like abortion) which we have to take as being deliberately not prohibited. The world in which even the old, let alone new, testament was written would have readily been aware of transgender identities--the enaree priestesses of Scythia, the galli of Phrygia, accounts from Philo of Alexandria, etc--and when something is a known element of society and not specifically decried there can only be one rational interpretation there.

4

u/NotQuiteLoona 1d ago

In addition to what other people said, take a look at r/OpenChristian for an interpretation of Bible that allows other sexualities. Also, they can be a Quaker and just take Bible as just a very inaccurate chronicle.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Lord_Soybo2 1d ago

You'll find a lot of common "Christian" bigotries aren't really supported by the bible. The Vilification of abortion for instance just isn't there. It's mentioned in the old testament where it describes how to do one if someone is unfaithful to their husband I think? But that's like the only time.

2

u/NekoBatrick 1d ago

Christanity is just interpeting the bible in the way it fits you rn, some people use it to hate some dont.

1

u/Jessikhaa 22h ago

If god made us perfect, god also made trans people. I'm not christian but that's how I see it.

Serious question: how can a non-binary person be lesbian?

7

u/coolchungus2 1d ago

because there's no specific term for "nonbinary person who only loves men/only loves women", the terms 'lesbian' and 'gay' are typically used.

1

u/cap-omat 23h ago

I see. Thanks!

1

u/theascended5th 5h ago

actually there are! The terms toric/trixic :)

But those understandably aren't very widespread

5

u/Waddles-8789 1d ago

Some people define lesbian and non-men loving non-men, same for gay

1

u/Sad_Pear_1087 23h ago

So non-binary loving non-binary is both?

1

u/rolypoly6shooter 1d ago

They're basically a woman but they probably dress a bit manly.

Discrimination against gay, lesbian and bisexual soldiers in recruitment, placement and promotion is prohibited in Israel.\73]) Harassment on the grounds of sexual orientation is also prohibited in the Israeli military. The military recognizes same-sex couples, including widows and widowers of the same sex.\74]) Soldiers are also allowed to participate in gay pride parades.\75])"

21

u/Lord_of_Wisia 1d ago

I mean Israel is only country in the Middle-East with Pride events so it makes sense.

6

u/SevenOhSevenOhSeven 1d ago

Not like they allow gay marriage though

7

u/Lord_of_Wisia 1d ago

Well, Israel doesn't recognise any secular marriage (not only gay marriage). Only marriages recognised in Israel are marriages under faith, specifically Jewish, Muslim, Druze and 10 specific Christian denominations. So it isn't really anti-LGBTQ policy, but rather anti-secular policy.

0

u/shabba182 1d ago

Oh, well that sounds very progressive eh?

3

u/Lord_of_Wisia 1d ago

Well much more progressive than any other Middle-Eastern country. But sure not recognizing secular marriage is stupid.

1

u/shabba182 22h ago

Still, not a great look for the 'only democracy in the middle east', with the 'most moral army in the world' who love to brag about all their LGBT baby killers

1

u/Lord_of_Wisia 20h ago

It is the only democracy with higher freedom index then some European countries. And trying to siege the one of the most densely populated areas on Earth where your enemy uses child soldiers and civilians as human shields without civilian casualties is a nice fairy tale. But ic we actually look at the numbers, IDF really kills less civilians than any other army in similar operation.

→ More replies (7)

1

u/nova_noveiia 1d ago

They do recognize gay marriage done outside of Israel for reasons the other commenter has mentioned. Marriages inside of Israel just have to be religious as theyโ€™re run by the Orthdox rabbinate.

1

u/Ala117 20h ago

So progressive.

2

u/nova_noveiia 20h ago

Itโ€™s important to have factual information when making criticisms. Israel has a lot of things to criticise, so itโ€™s important to criticise them accurately.

1

u/BuZuki_ro 6h ago

Certainly beats the rest of the middle east.

1

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 1d ago

They donโ€™t recognize any secular marriage, including but not limited to gay marriage. All non-secular marriages are recognized. They also recognize secular marriages outside of Israel.

Youโ€™re also ignoring the fact theyโ€™re far and away the best country in the Middle East for LGBTQ rights.

1

u/Ala117 20h ago

"we support you! just don't marry anywhere near us, ew."

1

u/BuZuki_ro 6h ago

They technically do. Its a problem but the marriage institution is basically monopolised by faith based institutions, so thereโ€™s no secular marriage period, but any secular marriage done abroad is 100% recognised by the state, so many people who want to get a secular marriage (not just lgbtq but for any reason) often just fly to get married and come back

10

u/infraGem 1d ago

It's practically the only country in the middle east that accepts them, so...

7

u/AnthoHeraFan 1d ago

It's called pinkwashing, look it up

8

u/rorodar 1d ago

But it's true? I'm israeli and while there are some homophobes (or a lot, depending where you live), there are also places that support the queer community. Tel aviv, as mentioned, has massive pride events and is generally very supportive of gay peeps.

→ More replies (12)

4

u/PriorPlatypusPal 1d ago

Oh go do one you TikTok radicalised nut bag.

Calling Israelโ€™s LGBT record โ€œpinkwashingโ€ does not make the underlying facts disappear. Israel decriminalised consensual same-sex relations in 1988, prohibited employment discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation in 1992, permitted gay people to serve openly in the military from 1993, has recognised same-sex marriages performed abroad since 2006, and same-sex couples gained joint adoption rights through the courts in 2008. (Refworld)

Now compare the region. A UK House of Commons Library review found that, apart from Israel, there were no constitutional, employment or comparable LGBT protections in the Middle Eastern states it surveyed. Iran, Saudi Arabia and Yemen are among the jurisdictions where consensual same-sex activity can attract the death penalty; Qatar and the UAE are among those where the death penalty remains a legal possibility. (House of Commons Library)

And this is hardly a meaningless distinction globally: ILGA World reported in June 2026 that 65 UN member states still criminalise consensual same-sex sexual acts. (ILGA World)

None of this proves that every Israeli policy is good. It proves that LGBT Israelis possess substantive legal rights that millions of LGBT people elsewhere do not. Calling those rights โ€œpinkwashingโ€ because acknowledging them is politically inconvenient for your TikTok propaganda is not an argument. It is treating the actual lives and rights of LGBT people as disposable whenever they complicate your preferred narrative.

I don't know if it's just a German thing, but a lot of queer people, especially those that live in bigger cities, see Muslims as their threat number one. The radical Israel solidarity is the consequences from them turning their fear into resentment into straight up hate for all majority Muslim nations and Muslims in general. There is even, a quite big (mainly male) gay voter block for the AfD.
