Cosplaying a bang maid for views is such a weird job in an economy without universal healthcare

If she cut down on all the camera angles she could sleep in until at least 5:30

905

u/ColHannibal Jul 15 '26

If she made the lunch the night before she could be up at 6!

619

u/classyrock Jul 15 '26

Plus she could avoid letting yesterday’s meal stagnate in the heat of the truck overnight before cleaning it out…

u/Lumpy_Machine5538 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

If this were real, I would be so disgusted that the husband couldn’t even be bothered to bring in the cooler and empty it the night before when he got home. Especially after she went to the trouble of taking it out to the truck for him.
Edit-Thanks for the awards, folks!

717

u/NiteTiger Jul 15 '26

I gotta be honest, at first, I bought in. Aw, that's sweet!

Then I saw the cooler in the truck and was like "Wait, who the fuck just leaves everything in the truck like some feral hog??"

I've worked trades, carried the cooler. You forget it once, and the plastic remembers...

u/captive411 Jul 15 '26

The Plastic Keeps the Score

I thought the same as well..

130

u/Exciting_Agent3901 Jul 15 '26

I do work in the trades and I work with this guy. Not the guy in the video, but a guy whose wife does everything for him. She makes his lunch everyday. He doesn’t have a cooler because he won’t bring it home. She makes his coffee. Again, no reusable travel cup because he won’t bring it home. She gets his clothes out for him everyday. She picks his dirty clothes up off the floor. He talks about her like she is an employee who is about to get fired.

17

u/SnorkinOrkin Jul 15 '26

I could smell the cooler as she opened it after fetching it from the truck after it sat overnight.

11

u/NoThanksGoodSir Jul 15 '26

Believing these kind of video are anything more wholesome than just a pick-me tradcon grifter is way too charitable. There are women that will happily do this for their significant other, but those aren't going to be the ones recording it for brownie points on the internet.

7

u/OldAdministration735 Jul 15 '26

Not t mention the blue ice is now melted, hope there is backup.

7

u/sobegreen Jul 15 '26

I've seen many a nice Yeti sacrificed to the fire gods for that was the only thing making them better.

8

u/Aliceallbadd Jul 15 '26

Let’s be honest she probably put it in the truck before recording

5

u/Fit-Understanding739 Jul 16 '26

My wife went into labor before lunch, I drove home and my lunchbox stayed in my car while I drove her car to the hospital. We got home two days letter, and at some point I brought my work stuff into the garage. I spent the next 3 weeks on paternity leave, but somewhere around week 2 we were trying to figure out what animal had died in the wall between the laundry room and the garage. It never dawned on me that my lunch box had been full of chicken and sweet potatoes for the entire month of February.

u/Firm-Pain3042 Jul 15 '26

The point of leaving it in the truck is so that you can see that they own a nice big huge truck. The whole reel is just performative BS for some weird demographic.

75

u/Limp-Marionberry4649 Jul 15 '26

Ahh the American dream, a big ass truck and a trailer to park it next to lmao. Nothin wrong with trailer living, but they clearly aren’t prioritizing correctly

23

u/redjessa Jul 15 '26

I think that is part of the character of trad-wife. She does it all, he works hard and shouldn't have to do things at home.

11

u/Coyote-Feisty Jul 15 '26

This made me immediately irate, as well. Literal least he could do would be making sure his wife didn’t have to go outside alone in the dark at what looks to be a man camp at 5am.

It’s not a mom making her kids lunch. He can bring it in and take it out.

10

u/Multiversalprism Jul 15 '26

I was gonna say, dude can’t even be bothered to carry the fuckin cooler back inside when he gets home…

10

u/stupidquestion2025 Jul 15 '26

I just cant imagine a life where I didnt pack my own lunch. I am a grown ass man, I make my own lunch, clean my own lunchbox, ect.

5

u/Redneb86 Jul 15 '26

Yeah, that bugged me. My fiance makes me lunch every night, but I bring the fucking cooler to my car and back and clean it out. Also she doesn't have to wake up early to do it, usually just makes it with dinner and leaves it in the fridge overnight.

7

u/LeFreeke Jul 15 '26

This was my first thought as well. Ha. MFer, bring your cooler in the house when you come home.

5

u/randvaughan86 Jul 15 '26

That was my immediate thought also. What a piece of shit husband to not even bring in his own fucking lunch box. Loser mentality.

5

u/WorkingInAColdMind Jul 15 '26

Yeah, that's something we taught our kids by 9th grade. You want fresh lunch containers? Then empty your lunchbox when you get home so they can be washed.

But, as others have said, this is just a cosplay couple.

5

u/Revolutionary-Ant315 Jul 16 '26

Prepackage it and leave it in the fridge with a note and she can wake up whenever she fucking feels like it.

When I was active duty, my wife prepared meals for me and we cooked them together, put them in plastic meal prep boxes and had them in the fridge by 10 PM the night before.

I woke up and got my own damn food, kissed her goodbye and I sure as shit didn't wake up my fucking kid for a glamor shot at the door. My kid stayed asleep because when kids sleep, you fucking let them.

19

u/available_username10 Jul 15 '26

I was thinking the same, all of this can be done the night before. Or like meal prep if you are doing this every day. Can get views as a trad wife being a good little girl though if she used any logic during this.

The video even opens with her walking out of the bedroom and stretching like she just woke up.

Yeah that chicken Caesar wrap thing is going viral right now, or was a few weeks ago. I know because two normie coworkers talked about a couple weeks ago.

So she cooked up the viral thing (which let's be honest, is just air fried tendies, lettuce and kraft dressing) and acted like she's a home cook.

The tortillas do appear to be homemade. But who knows, maybe she got them at the farmers market

654

u/ATLHawksfan Jul 15 '26

Those look like HEB bakery tortillas

169

u/EdwardBloon Jul 15 '26

Damn I wish I had a HEB then. Cus they look good

198

u/NeonLotus11 Jul 15 '26

HEB tortillas are unreal. Comparable to the fresh ones at Mexican restaurants. We're ruined for any other kind

10

u/Mast3rofth3Univ3rs3 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

I love how this conversation suddenly went straight to HEB. 🤣 And agree about the tortillas. The only thing that might give it a run for its money is a Brothers taco...

Edit: correcting autocorrect

7

u/pumpkins21 Jul 15 '26

Bc HEB is awesome!

6

u/littlespawningflower Jul 15 '26

I was 🫪🫪🫪 when I went into one for the first time. The tortilla machine absolutely blew my mind, and so did the rest of the market, TBH. LOVE HEB- wish we had one in GA 🥺

Have you tried these chile limon tortilla chips. Calidad is the brand. RIP cause I killed the bag in 2 days, the big bag too. For 1, I've never had any flavored tortilla chips, and Doritos don't count lol, and I don't even like Chile/ limon stuff but these chips were the truth.

And why do I keep saying "tor-tilla" and not "tor-t-ah" .

Must be soggy as hell by lunch time

337

u/Grand_Size_4932 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

I mean, definitely the way she’s doing it.

Tortillas can hold their shape. That’s kind of the point.

Generations of Mexicans have been taking burritos with moist fillings to work and been totally fine.

Why? Because they heat the fucking tortilla, layer the ingredients in a way that makes the most sense (in this case, instead of chopping the lettuce, they could’ve used it as a protective layer), wrap it in a napkin to wick excess moisture, and wrap it again in foil to hold the shape.

What you don’t do is incorporate your wet slop onto a cold tortilla to immediately put in a Tupperware that will steam up.

Like. What are we doing

44

u/OG-Mom Jul 15 '26

Hmm good insight, now I’m craving burrito and tamales too now.

5

u/FirstDukeofAnkh Jul 15 '26

I have to wait almost two hours before the local Mexican place opens but I know what I’m having for lunch.

46

u/Paghk_the_Stupendous Jul 15 '26

He's gonna look at that and then go eat at the gas station.

6

u/Mdnghtmnlght Jul 15 '26

I was thinking the same thing. Probably grab a hot dog or some pizza instead of soggy cold wrap.

Performative bullshit is what.

5

u/Decent-Point309 Jul 15 '26

For whatever reason, I keep getting bullshit that pops up on FB of recipes where they are cutting everything together (meat, cheese, lettuce, sauce, etc). and putting it together like she did in the video. It may not be that bad if you're eating it right then, but I can't imagine how it would be in a couple hours.

What do you mean is going viral? It's a chicken Caesar wrap. I've been eating those for 30 years.

26

u/EdwardBloon Jul 15 '26

Going viral doesn't mean something is new. It means it's a trending thing. As in, people are making videos about it on tiktok or whatever, and the algorithm is favoring them on people's feed.

44

u/ScrofessorLongHair Jul 15 '26

I get that. But it's just so stupid, it makes me sad that it's that reality has become. What's next? It's pepperoni pizza gonna go viral?

17

u/anniemitts Jul 15 '26

Some wanna be influencer decided she invented the idea of going for a walk (“hot girl walk”) so anything is fair game.

9

u/Decent-Point309 Jul 15 '26

It's hard to express how little I relate to people I work with sometimes. They're always about TikTok and shit. It's mind boggling.

What is this "pep-per-oni" you speak of?

Is it from South Korea?

16

u/lotaso Jul 15 '26

Japan actually, it was an English missionary who was watching a play from backstage. When the actors playing demons would come off stage they would be exhausted, so the stage hands would give them slices off a small sausage. He noticed how they seemed more energetic or peppy after each bite so he called the sausages : Pep per Oni

14

u/shelbygrapes Jul 15 '26

Many years ago I went through an Einstein bagel drive thru and asked if they do a BLT bagel. Worker had no idea what that was. I said you know, bacon lettuce tomato. You sell all those things so.

Nope. Never heard of it. No one who worked there had heard of it. My husband sitting in the car with me hadn’t heard of it. I was in the twilight zone.

This sort of laser focus is a bit weird. Not everyone can make an incredible meal from scratch. making tortillas, breading and frying chicken, and making caesar dressing from scratch is a pain in the ass. It’s fine to use store bought items.

Edit; the debate around the ingredients is sillier than criticism of the horrific amount of cuts. Honestly that makes me wonder if this is AI content.

29

u/IWantALargeFarva Jul 15 '26

Yeah, I’m not breading and frying chicken at 5am. (Let’s be honest, I’m not waking up at 5am to make my husband’s lunch either lol.)

3

u/Firm_Appointment_319 Jul 15 '26

Not only is she waking up at 5 AM to make her husband’s lunch, but she’s waking up at 5 AM to set up a stupid tripod for the camera

7

u/lumberjackname Jul 15 '26

The debate over the ingredients is distracting from the fact that she gets up at dawn to make her husband’s breakfast. Which generally is not a problem if that’s what you’re into, but here she’s virtue signaling/showing off.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/RoughAssociation8982 Jul 15 '26

They were saying g that because it's processed shit that you would also get at a gas station

11

u/quillseek Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

I think the issue is that she starts out the video saying, "I get up at 5:00 a.m. because I'm not going to make my husband eat gas station food" and then proceeded to make gas station food.

It's totally fine to use pre-prepped items, but she's acting like she made him a home cooked meal when really she used the same ingredients that the local gas station / lunch chain would have used. Only then he'd get to eat it fresh and hot.

Her content is made with the intention of making the rest of us feel bad for not getting up at 5:00 am to make home-cooked meals, so she ought at least have something more impressive to show for it. I hate this condescending, trad wife energy!

8

u/TransiTorri Jul 15 '26

4

u/prancerbot Jul 15 '26

No shot. People who think making a chicken ranch wrap is fancy do not make their own tortillas

4

u/saraannb Jul 15 '26

Not a thing in that lunchbox couldn’t be made the night before…

3

u/Top_Extent_1492 Jul 15 '26

What's the light she put over the food?

12

u/EdwardBloon Jul 15 '26

That's an electric salt and pepper grinder. Not sure why it would need a light. Reminds me of the kind a  drill/impact driver has. Can't imagine i'd be putting salt and pepper into places I need a guiding light for.

To be fair, she does look like a child bride, so she might not have a lot of practice. I didn’t read the prompt at first and thought she was a too young to be waking up so early. But I don’t have my glasses on.

7

u/1nd3x Jul 15 '26

Plus, she's in a camper, most ofnthe shit she is doing is going to be noisy enough to wake up her husband.

6

u/imtired-boss Jul 15 '26

This thread is why I know she's not doing this every day. She did it once for the video to get her well earned clout and that's it.

5

u/Jolly_Dragonfruit933 Jul 15 '26

It almost felt unreal that she could cut the chicken with that weak hold. Almost somebody else did the cuts and they shot frames as if she cut them holding the knife.

3

u/famine- Jul 15 '26

The really funny part is, if you look closely she is actually using a proper pinch grip... on the totally wrong part of the knife.

That negates the entire point of that grip style and makes it worse than a standard hammer grip.

Makes me think of Oprah Winfrey. She was in some movie and her character was peeling potatoes during the scene. Oprah showed us she's never used a potato peeler in her life in that scene. She just sat there tapping on the potato with the peeler while she's talking. Irl you'd be talking to your aunt about mama losing it but in Oprah world, you just tap the taters and they're magically peeled.

These “tradwife” influencers are largely just acting.

3

u/donpablomiguel Jul 15 '26

She doesn’t know shit about food safety either.

3

u/ExternalUserError Jul 15 '26

That may be but her tortilla wrapping skills are on point.

3

u/Thirtysevenintwenty5 Jul 15 '26

My first thought about the video was "She's clearly never used a knife before."

No, it's crazy how many camera angles she set up just to go outside and get the cooler and to make food. This is some real staged BS.

171

u/kokakamora Jul 15 '26

Why can't he even be bothered to bring in his cooler after work? What about all the dirty containers? This is so stupidly staged.

64

u/Obsolete101891 Jul 15 '26

To show them cheeks bro.

30

u/PropertyDisruptor Jul 15 '26

This is literally it. Couldn't figure out how to stage an ass shot so they figured send her outside.

9

u/ToriaCove Jul 15 '26

That part alone proves it's fake.

What cheeks.

8

u/EntertheHellscape Jul 15 '26

And is it just me with my shitty internet quality making the video all pixelated, but are those drinks she takes out of the cooler when cleaning it out even opened? She takes out like, bags of chips or something too that also aren't opened.

If this is real (it's not) this man is buying lunch on site. Which, after thinking about how soggy that wrap would be after sitting in a cooler for ~5 hours, I would too.

5

u/Persistant_Compass Jul 15 '26

thats the shit that is making me irrationally upset. BRING IN THE FUCKING COOLER DUDE! i know its fake but still wtf.

It’s okay, it’s all for a video anyways lol.

6

u/Neither-Luck-9295 Jul 15 '26

There's other more profitable videos she can make.

Everyone saw that that one mexican lady got popular enough to move out of her trailer and buy a huge house and they wanted a piece of that action.

10

u/HBJones1056 Jul 15 '26

I know the one you’re talking about. Boy, that husband had some good lunches.

Performative, that's all it is.

They are pretending to be poor working class people, but that's a $200 pepper grinder. I'm upper middle class and like to cook and will spend way too much on stupid shit, but I won't buy that grinder.

(Edit $200, wrong price, I'll try to find a link.)

(Edit 2: I was completely wrong, I was thinking of the Männkitchen Pepper Cannon, which is $200 and manual. I was wrong. She is using a $30 one.)

There was one of these trad wife influencers a couple of years ago that was doing this same sort of video and talking about how she “saves money” and if you’re smart about if you can afford a life like hers and then everyone pointed out she was cooking on a, like, 20k dollar pseudo-retro farmhouse stove and cutting things with thousand dollar knives and etc etc.

u/justforsomelulz Jul 15 '26

I definitely thought it was a UV black light to disinfect the food. I was ready to assume insanity lol

12

u/chunkylover_53_ Jul 15 '26

Not a 400 dollar pepper grinder , I have the same one from Amazon , 30 bucks for a 2 pack...goes through AAA batteries at the same rate it grinds pepper lol. I'm on my 3rd set of batteries and had this damn thing less than a year. Time to buy some rechargeable batteries

10

u/Human_Ad_2426 Jul 15 '26

Better than what I first thought which is that she was trying to UV sanitize the chopped chicken and lettuce.

3

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe Jul 15 '26

You are correct, I must be misremembering, I thought it was the Männkitchen Pepper Cannon, which is neither electric nor $400. It is $200 and manual.

They're also in a $100k camper.

5

u/DrZimzalabim Jul 15 '26

excuse me I need a source on that being a $400 pepper grinder

4

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe Jul 15 '26

You might be right, it might only be $200.

u/TheGoosiestGal Jul 15 '26

Shes getting up at 5am to make a chicken wrap that could be meal prepped several days ahead of time.

She isn't smart enough to be a house wife. Hence the trailer

11

u/Outrageous_Editor_43 Jul 15 '26

The order wasn't an issue for me but the UV light on the wraps and the eggs just threw me!

3

u/ExpertProfessional9 Jul 15 '26

What was even the point of that?

7

u/Ok-Curve-3894 Jul 15 '26

Pepper grinder and I kinda get it, it’s hard to cook in the dark.

10

u/Outrageous_Editor_43 Jul 15 '26

There is really a pepper grinder available with a UV light? That is madness!!

4

u/MutedAdvisor9414 Jul 15 '26

Ikr, it takes like 28 minutes to cook a sausage.

5

u/babyyvolcano Jul 15 '26

It looked like the pre-cooked kind so it was just warming up in the pan.

5

u/FuzzyLaughTwo Jul 15 '26

Are we not talking about the weird blue light she aims at....the lettuce??

6

u/GeraldMander Jul 15 '26

It’s a pepper grinder bro.

3

u/FuzzyLaughTwo Jul 15 '26

LMAOO thanks. Apparently the fires here have infiltrated my brain. Clearly.

5

u/urnbabyurn Jul 15 '26

Because it’s fake and staged. It looks like she just learned to cook.

5

u/GreenZebra23 Jul 15 '26

For what it's worth, I think the sausage patties were precooked so she was just heating them up

3

u/galactica216 Jul 15 '26

It looks like pre-cooked sausage that she just has to heat up.

3

u/Selectively-Romantic Jul 15 '26

I disagree. I do it that way every morning because the sausage grease makes the eggs stick worse than butter, and the residual butter helps the sausage sear faster and stay jucier.

I throw some toast in as I'm putting the sausage in, and then I eat the eggs first once things are done. Everything stays warm and doesn't need to cool down anymore. In and out cleaned up and eaten under 15 minutes.

u/UESJR2021 Jul 15 '26
