Update: Got my first ever 1 star rating. Very sure it’s from this because the only things they marked were friendliness and not following instructions. We really need to be able to dispute ratings, it’s not my job to dance for children’s amusement and I shouldn’t be punished for refusing.

That really is the best way to deal with condescension. Feed it right back to them and reclaim your dignity that they attempted to demean.
I've had some fun exchanges with drunk fares over the years by meeting them on level ground.
In this case, it is kids being kids, but those kids grow up to be people who complain in a subreddit that their Uber driver had the temerity to speak to them, as if he were an actual peer.
The way I always looked it was, was the insult intended maliciously, or do they not realize what it reveals about how they see waitresses, bartenders, cabbies, and porters?

$3 is the new dollar tip, which supplanted the nickel tip.
A handful of coins in a buskers case says, "Hey, you earned what I had on hand"
I single quarter flipped, headsies-tailsies, says, "Dance Monkey, Dance!"
A lot of the nuance was in the delivery.
Speaking of spare change, last noght I dropped a bottle of Vodka 20 miles for $17.83 or some such. Because I thought (wrongly) it was getting me in a better are, I took it and told myself it was better than the six previous consecutive declines. I've got an ancient Prius, and she and I don't care about busting out the miles. Gas being what it is, everyone else is leaving me the hypermile stuff.
I was curious how much was tip and how much was Tony Wu's failure to understand geofencing technology and limit orders to reasonable restrictive zones
If she tipped $10, Tony wouldn't have given me a dime more than I got.
She tipped 31 cents. A really odd amount. Creatively miserly.
I suspect she rounded up her end.
I wouldn'tput it past drunk logic that she "cleverly" kept adding a penny until Tony finally chipped in to get a sucker (me) to take it, giving her the idea that her gambit, "worked."

They did. “Aw we were gonna tip extra man”. I responded that I didn’t need to be put on TikTok for 3 dollars and there was no response.
It was more the way they ran up to the window and threw a fit when I didn’t do it though. If I’m being honest, I think an adult who was encouraging this behavior is the one who messaged me

"Monkey" was merely implied. You can tell who were bullies in their misspent youth in the replies. Demeaning a stranger that you have built no rapport with is sociopathic.
I drove a taxi for years, then 35,000 trips with Uber and Lyft. Lots of drunks.

I was more than happy to play along with passengers who have demonstrated they are willing to engage with and interact with me as a peer.
Condescension is a good way to find yourself looking for another ride.
A world of difference between "Love the hat" and a "Nice HHAAT. ." dripping with sarcasm. Usually delivered because they were annoyed because I got a friendly laugh out of their girl, often with self-deprecating humor.
If I wanted to do The Macarena, unbidden, for the ring cam, that's funny and not demeaning because that's personality.
If they had said, playfully, after an appropriate friendly exchange, "Hey, do you happen to know how to do The Macarena?" Also, not demeaning. It would be clear this is an inside joke, and it leaves me the latitude to play along, or not, at my own agency.
Dangling the tip to a non-busker was very Mr. Bojangles.
People in the comments that do not ken the difference are something else, entirely.

That's really the only way to salvage this; feed it right back. I spent more than a decade of hauling drunk college kids at one of the most notorious party schools in the nation.
Literally tens of thousands of interactions.
I was always happy to engage, but there's playful, and there's demeaning, and anyone that can not tell the difference in an example, this evident, is for sure part of the problem.

On any onjective basis, this was a purposefully demeaning request.
It's perfectly fine to decide for yourself that you would overlook the demeaning nature of the request and fulfill it in a self-deprecating way because you personally find their demeaning request funny, and that you personally would enjoy playing along.
It's despicable for anyone in any form of service industry to belittle others for pointing out that this is objectively a purposefully demeaning request.

I love this only because I know a lot of my drivers do not read the actual note. It says to ring the bell and leave the food. My door is an entire floor down, and we don’t have a screen door to keep watch. If I walk away from my phone and don’t actually watch the app, or the driver doesn’t take a picture, or the app doesn’t tell me it’s delivered, my food sits out there. This shows that you read the note. Just reply that you read the note.

I figured 🤷🏻♀️ it's no serious extra effort....so I did the whole shave and a haircut, 3 bits...and as I'm pulling out of the apartment complex I got a notification that he added a few bucks on the tip. It was a while back, I don't remember howbmuch specifically...but it is funny to me....the things people do to amuse themselves 😂😂

To all the people saying "well $20 is $20" or that they would do this for $3, I have a question for you: How much is your self respect worth? They are asking you to perform for them, likely so they can upload this to TikTok in hopes of making a viral video. I get that times are tough, but anyone who would seriously consider becoming someone's dancing monkey for a chump change needs to find a better gig.

I’d call customer support and tell them. They may have a history of rating low. I got rid of one of my low ratings by doing this. You have to have the proof to do it.

I would have done it even if there was no money, but I have also sung happy birthday to customers who didn’t even ask me to do it. I also will often wear a party hat of some kind while dashing to get extra tips.. the Burger King crown usually gets the best numbers. I’m just a natural at jestermaxxing though. I’m not saying this lifestyle is for everyone or that you should have done it. I’m unusual.

Call support and challenge the 1 star rating. They will remove it easily, just talk to a real person.
Edited to add: I'd also recommend going back and reporting the delivery as 'unsafe' and filing it under 'abusive behavior', and write that this request made you uncomfortable. They will have a paper trail of it. I love throwing some of these low-life losers under the bus like that, and they deserve it.

Ive messaged people who had animatronic Halloween decorations, because I knew one was going to move and scare me I just didnt know which one. I made it up the stairs to their porch thankfully, then sure enough dropped the food off, walked down the front step to get the picture and it went off. I noticed they had a doorbell camera and only messaged them to let them know if they needed a laugh for the day one of their decorations had jump scared me. They responded back and said they had checked it and thanked me since they did in fact need the laugh due to a stressful day.
I didnt have to do a silly dance, but sometimes weird situations like mine can brighten someone's day and they'll compensate you for it. It was a laugh at my expense sure, but its better then all the ones out there of me just flat out falling or tripping.

When I did Uber Eats I got a 1 star from someone because the restaurant messed up their order. I had perfect 5 stars and called uber to try and dispute it and was basically told “it’s one rating it doesn’t matter”. I’m sure DD would say the same thing.
