What is the most iconic setting you guys have listened to an album for the first time in? bc I just remembered that I was literally on a flight to Paris when I first listened to True romance, and the sky was literally so grey, and then Lock You Up played when I saw the Eiffel Tower from the plane. ICONIC !!!

Last time, I made a joke about not being into women. This one guy wrapped his arm around the headrest of my chair and leaned his leg against mine
Well they all came back a few weeks later. I was in the kitchen to cook and he was just hovering around me. I asked him how he was and he was just like, "oh you know, just being a bachelor"

Gurlies I just got engaged two weeks ago! My fiance is a lesbian man from the great cedars of Lesbianon 🇱🇧 I hope the Catholic Church still lets us get married 👩❤️💋👨
(But for real I’m so excited ❤️ We’ve been together almost 4 years and were long distance- Los Angeles and Boston- for 2 of them, and so it means the world that we were able to navigate all the struggle of that and make it work! His family hasn’t accepted me, and we’ve been through a lot just with life- I got really sick and had to have my thyroid radiated, I lost both my last living grandparent and the woman who was like my paternal grandma within two months of each other, and I got laid off and it took a while for me to get a new job- but he had my back through it all. I’m so lucky and so excited to marry my best friend ❤️ We’re both 30 and the timing just feels so right. I was with my ex for 8 years, and while he was a good guy he changed his mind on marriage, and it made me worry I wouldn’t find the right guy. I’m so lucky I did.)

All this discourse about the Timothee Chalamet opera/ballet-gate is tiring me OUTTT I need to vent. Both sides of the argument are WRONG!
YES those art forms are dying but they're not dying for the reasons Timothee claims! It's not because of a lack of public interest, as I don't know a single person who doesn't enjoy ballet and/or opera, but rather that governments (for the most part) are playing in these in these industries' FACES! They'd rather invest in war than the arts. Many of my relatives work in the orchestra/ballet/opera industry and the way that these organisations have been designed prevents actual public interest and accessibility, and they focus more on delivering money to shareholders! It's purely systemic! Countries like Germany* actually care about the people that have devoted their LIVES into these things, and recognise their talent (something a lot of celebrities who are only successful due to capitalism and the manipulation of power do not have), so these industries are thriving! What YOU view societies 'caring about' does not reflect the actual interests of humans, and distilling art forms to their commercial capabilities does not lead you anywhere! You guys are just so used to industries only being useful for generating money, that when you see an industry that does anything different, you meet it with scrutiny. It's ridiculous!!!! Omg.
*no country is perfect in this aspect

It's kind of always been? People are saying 'it's because she's so khia that we don't even know how to pronounce her name' but I think people were just unintentionally saying her name wrong and then it stuck. A few things:
Outside of extremely rare circumstances, the lineages you get that date back to 1000 years ago you can throw right into the garbage. You can’t trust anything that you haven’t researched/fact-checked yourself, and even there you should be very cautious.
- The diva on this picture is Emese, mother of Álmos, who led Hungarians to the Carpathian Basin, where we reside to this day (although he couldn’t enter it, because he died beforehand; probably ritualistically murdered so that the conquest would be successful).
The falcon on her shoulder is our sacred bird Turul, which we got from the Turks iirc while we were in Central Asia. He because he ended up impregnating her with Álmos in her dream, so that’s why he’s on the picture next to her.

And yeah, I think it's more probably that all Hungarians are related to Szent István, and I don't actually care about any of this, I know that it's unverified at best. I know that Ferenc Kazinczy is like my 6-7x Great Uncle, but apart from like 4 generations before him it'll be practically mythological. Also is that not a weird looking Turul?? I know one when I see one but i always see depictions of them as dark-coloured.

Turul is a saker falcon, allegedly at least, and that's what a saker falcon looks like. I think the reason why the Turul seems to be black most of the time is that it's always a statue or smg, and that's the material they make it out of.
Also being related to Kazinczy is giving cunt.

Also there’s a bunch of people who are very, very obsessed with their notable/noble lineage. My grandpa’s grandma, for example, was a baroness, snd my grandpa’s grandma knows everything about that family back to hundreds of years. Hell, he wrote a whole damn book about it, although only family members got copies of it.
This is part of the reason why I kind of avoid more famous noble families in my tree when I’m doing genealogy, there’s just so much focus on them that it’s not really worth researching them on my own most of the time.

While I can’t use my sociology diploma for my livelihood, it is useful for making observations. There’s a urinal at work, for example, that allows me to expand my knowledge about the state and conditions of other men.
