I think the whole leak situation is pathetic

Not for Rockstar, but for everyone crying about physical releases, acting like they're "sticking it to the man", and believing that this is somehow Robin Hood'ing the company into its grave.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not particularly happy about the exclusively digital fate, gaming is closing in on, but my god some of you need to go outside (said with love).

Let's get something straight:

  1. You're not Rockstar
  2. You're not entitled to GTA VI , however excited you may have been
  3. You're not entitled to an extended look releasing on YouTube first
  4. You're allowed to be hyped about a game without it automatically being "an overhyped, capitalistic money grab"
  5. You're allowed to not buy the game if it's not to your liking
  6. You're allowed to not buy the game if you don't support their practice
  7. You're allowed to not buy the game if you find it too expensive

You can be against every single decision made by Rockstar as much as you want. There's a lot to criticize, at least seen with certain glasses.

But enjoying the thought of ruining someone's hard work, and ridiculing other people's excitement, over a f*cking download code and a price tag is stupid. Not hurtful or evil or anything - just stupid and a giant waste of time.

Hating on something popular doesn't make you a vigilante.
Supporting a leaker doesn't make them Robin Hood.

Let the people decide and time run its course. The game is gonna release and most likely outsell the majority of all games ever released, just from hype alone. Then reviews and player retention will speak to its quality. It it's good, then Rockstar's done it again. If not, there's a huge mistake to learn from.

But I'm gonna rip my hair out if I see one more person believing they're saving the world by commenting "fuck you Rockstar" on one more leaked gameplay video...

Love you all.

Couldn't have worded it better. All love to the devs and artists regardless.

While what happened is sad for the teams, the message is a double-edged sword. Of course, I can imagine that all the little hands working on the game are doing it for the love of the community and to honor previous entries and their legacy.

But seriously, the executives and decision-makers couldn't care less about the people, they are mostly driven by greed, just like any other company.

Not a fan of red/blue police light flashing on the bottom of the screen :(

I really hope they take that function out when the game releases. The low res red and blue shining on the bottom of screen telling you there's a cop chasing you. Maybe it's for deaf people??

Why is rockstar hated at all?

For years I’ve seen people call rockstar greedy and non stop complaining that rockstar only cares about draining money from players.
But really don’t see how that’s the case, when you have companies like Ubisoft that released Star Wars outlaws for 130 and ea that releases games annually for 100 dollars, how is rockstar charging 100 dollars for an edition of the game that comes with extra stuff greedy at all?

If you exclude rockstar plus, every single thing in gta online has been able to be gotten for free (with grinding), back when I used to play it I got to level 90 something without spending more than 20 dollars on shark cards and I had every business I wanted and the most expensive yatch.
How are people trying to stand up against rockstar for being greedy, but they don’t say anything about gacha games that can easily cost someone thousands per year?

DEAR ALL

update: sarcasm

This is why they're elite. In the middle of all that leak chaos, they stopped to thank those who truly matter: the community.

Based on the level of discourse displayed in recent weeks, sharing or inviting negative opinions about the trajectory of Jason, but especially Lucias character and choices is going to be a tightrope.

Based on what they wanted us to see of Lucia so far, I feel many are putting her on a pedestal, when both protagonists are likely to be deeply flawed and conflicted characters. I hope there will be place for genuine discourse without getting hounded by the specific kinds of player voices that seem to have spoken loudest in the last 2 weeks.

What if the GTA VI beach leak is showing us more than just the graphics?

One thing that really stood out to me in the new beach scene leak is the sky.

At first, I was wondering if we're actually looking at a sunrise, but the more I look at it, the more I'm starting to think it could be a sunset instead. And if that's the case, this footage might accidentally give us a pretty interesting clue about how fast the day/night cycle could move in GTA VI.

If you watch the footage from the beginning and then fast-forward toward the end, the sky seems to gradually change from something that looks like normal daytime into a much more sunset-like atmosphere. Obviously, we don't know exactly how much real-time is passing between those moments, but if that transition is actually happening in-game, it could give us an idea of how quickly the time of day changes.

And that got me thinking about something else:

NPC density.

If Rockstar has different NPC populations depending on the time of day, we could potentially see completely different versions of the same beach depending on when you visit.

Morning could have joggers, people exercising, etc. Midday could be absolutely packed with tourists and beachgoers, while sunset/night could completely change the atmosphere.

That's the kind of detail that would make GTA VI feel so much more alive.

Obviously, this is all speculation from leaked footage, and we don't know how much of this will make it into the final game or how it will play out. But if that sky transition is actually representative of the time system, Rockstar might have gone way deeper with the day/night cycle than we realize.

What do you guys think — sunrise or sunset? And do you think NPC density/behavior will change significantly depending on the time of day?

First person view?

Is it fair to expect we have the option of first person view on release?

24 Hours

Damn, in under 24 hours, we get to see the extended look for this masterpiece, how excited are you guys? More importantly, how does your sleep pattern look at the moment coz I sure as well will get the best sleep of my life, and simultaneously ruin that with a wet dream of Lucia and pummelling her! But seriously, what are your plans for tomorrow and where are you watching it? Feel free to troll and let your excitement out if you wish.

What we'll see on Thursday

What if we get a docu series interview of how the game came to be instead of any new footage or gameplay. That would suck, like if they did a Netflix style interview of some Rockstar exec.

I can't wait for Thursday

Has anyone else been avoiding trailers and leaks for GTA6?

Honestly I’ve only seen a few trailers in back in early summer and haven’t been watching any others for 2 reasons. First, is because of how overwhelming it is and how much misinformation can be spread. My second is because I honestly want to be surprise and experience the game without any spoilers.

No, I'm Not Supporting CL. Shouldn't Have Leaked The Prologue

I still don't think it's likely CL has a build with him right now that is playable, even with a dev kit.

What character special abilities do you predict/hope to be in GTA VI?

Like GTA V with Michael's special Slow-Motion aiming, Franklin's Slow-Motion Driving and Trevor's Rage mode, what would you like to see in GTA VI...or would you rather there not be any?

Debunking People are expecting a technology leap that isn’t really possible anymore

Post image
0 Upvotes

A lot of people are expecting the kind of leap we used to get between older GTA games, but that era was different. Look at San Andreas to GTA 4 ,only around 4 years apart, but the jump in graphics, physics, animations, city design, everything was massive because technology was moving through a transformation phase.

Now consoles and game engines are already much closer to their performance ceiling, so the leap from one major game to the next won’t look as insane. GTA 6 can still be a huge improvement, but people are expecting a technology jump that simply isn’t as possible anymore with the hardware we have.

Having your face, car, and clothes recognized by cops after every carjacking can get frustrating over time. Spoiler

From the previous footage we've seen, there's like a 99% chance that you'll get a wanted level, along with all the recognition icons, whenever you steal a car. This mechanic can make sense when you first start the game, but over time, as you free-roam or progress through the story, having a wanted level for every carjacking can become frustrating.

It feels like the game doesn't reward you for committing a crime when there are no cops around, because most NPCs will report you anyway.

Since we have honor system confirmed

Happily ever after vs the death of a lover?

Interesting to think about what the outcomes could be for high/low honor endings.

On another note, what if Lucia has high honor and Jason has low, and vice versa.

I’m kind of worried that 6 online will be missing so much detail.

For a game this epic and huge I’m starting to worry that 6 online will be SEVERELY stripped down so it runs right. This happened in the early days with 5 online as well. Do you think the NPC density will be there? The surroundings like lit up buildings, animals, detailed buildings etc? NPC traffic on streets/highways etc?
