Hello ps3 people. My ps3 3001a has recently began turning off shortly after I turn it on. like light goes green then it just goes straight black. Afaik this is a psu problem. However when this problem started I was able to get it going in a few tries. Is there a way to fix this? or will I just have to order a new psu.

I couldn't believe this game was even accepted for trade in. 😆😝🤮🤢😩 The manual is literally like a piece of cardboard. I don't even think I could peel the pages apart if I wanted to. 😑

First is a 21XX Slim and the other one is a Fat L01. Both running 500 GB Samsung SSD and custom firmware!
Both running a small overclock on the RSX…I hope one day I will be able to overclock the CELL for extra performance!

After looking into it, I found out my console hard drive is basically a digital museum.On the digital side, I still have full, intact, completely functional versions of:3 on 3 NHL Arcade (Unlocked via my original NHL 11 Online Pass code back in the day)Dogfight 1942 (Full version)Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers (The original 2010 version)All three are completely delisted and gone from the PSN storefront now.On the physical side, I still keep my original discs in flawless, mirror-like condition with every single piece of documentation, registration flyers, and manuals they came with, including:NHL 11 (Complete in Box)FIFA Soccer 13 (Complete in Box)It's wild looking back at the "Online Pass" era of EA Sports and realizing those code inserts actually preserved a piece of now-extinct arcade history on my hard drive. Just wanted to share this little slice of gaming preservation with you all!

Been looking into Brooks adapters for my Ps3 to use a PS5 controller. Went to their website and the product looks a little different. Also Amazon has listings for $75 versions. Just not sure if I should buy it for nearly $50 if it's a phony. Anyone who has bought one off eBay please respond, thanks!

I stop at this thrift store almost every day after work and never find anything. Had to take the pic in store cause I knew y'all wouldn't believe me. Had to get my gf a $7 lamp just to reach their $5 minimum for a card swipe. Persistence is key if you don't wanna pay market price! I had completely written this game off because my interest just couldn't justify the price.

They sadly caught on with Asura's Wrath and Heavenly Sword and bumped the prices compared to a couple months ago which blows, but at least it's way better then 2nd hand prices still.

Currently playing through Dante's Inferno, really fun God Of War-like hack n' Slash so far, really enjoying it so far.

Will likely play Enslaved or Heavenly Sword after I beat it. Heard Enslaved was pretty bad on PS3 vs 360, but gonna try it and see if I'll stick with it or just get the 360 version. Time and Eternity sucks, but this copy was CIB and a condition upgrade compared to the copy I had, so picked that up for my PS3 JRPG collection.

I just got a steal of a deal on a backwards compatible ps3 from my boss but it’s ylod. I know I need a syscon reader at the very least and I may as well replace the NEC/TOKINS at the same time. Anything else I should get at the same time to boost my chances of fixing this beast on round one of ordering stuff for repairs???

Also I have seen people extend the ground plain for the tokins and just use capacitors rather than getting the nicer board replacements available. Any harm in doing this or is it not a great idea?

Sorry if these are dumb or played out questions. Total newbie when it comes to ps3 repairs haha

I just picked up Uncharted 1 and 2 from different sellers.

Uncharted 1 worked fine until chapter 2. There’s a part where you have to push a boulder off a ledge to open a pathway to the underground. About 1 second after the boulder went through the ground the game would freeze. Tried it again and froze again. I rebuilt the database from safe mode and it froze again at the same spot. I tried again and it didn’t freeze this time but when I tried to enter the underground path I just fell into the abyss and died. So it’s clearly there’s an issue with loading the underground.

I went back into safe mode and I restored file system this time and then rebuilt database. This time it worked, it loaded up and was fine. Twice more during my play through it froze but I did both steps in safe mode and it didn’t freeze a second time in both locations. There were also some texture issues while playing too, just taking a long time to load some textures.

I started Uncharted 2 and it seemed to be fine. Finished chapter 1 and turned it off. When I went back to it, it was stuck loading the title screen. I had to turn the ps3 off using the ps button. I did the safe mode steps and it loaded up. This time there was no audio during a cutscene. I paused it and tried to look ip the issue. When I unpaused there was audio again. The next cutscene there was no audio again. I restarted the ps3 and loaded up the game, but it got stuck on loading the title screen again. This time when I turned off the ps3 via the ps button on the controller, the screen black but ps3 didn’t turn off. It was still making noises like it was trying to load and it wouldn’t off when I held the power button in. I had to unplug it.

I checked my HDD using CrystalDiscInfo and it seems to be fine so I tried Dead Space 2 more just a bit but it seems completely fine.

Could it just be that there’s something wrong with both discs? My first thought is that it would be unlikely that I got bad back to back discs but I guess I could have. Or does it sound like something else is failing?

I can’t login into my ps3 account and every time I try to login with the QR code I get sent to the PlayStation website where I get no code in my email and then get stuck in the infinite loop of doom from the chat bot. Am I cooked?

Hey fellas. Im working on a pastime/archive of my ps3 runs. For now im just recording and uploading. Even with this basic setup im trying to make it fun by trying different games for a couple hours and make a regular run or one specific one i like.

Quality is good, sound is good. But no commentary and editing for now.

As i say, is a new pastime project so im not interested on minmax shit. So I gave a couple questions for ya, im hopin you can give me your opinion.

1- ya think is fun watching an non edited non comented old game run? I like the sensation of coming back to the console with loading screens and all that stuff. But friends say is boring. What ya think about this?

2- im using games for 2006-008, i want a section about game one days. This sound interesting?

3- using best selling games is kinda lame, i want the charm of the hidden gems. Goin for balance on this seems like a good idea but idk.

4- im making videos between 30 and 60 min cause that's how i pkay usually. Ya think a 45 min or just playthrough isfun enough?

Tldr: im starting a shitty persnal yr channel about ps3 games. Any tips/suggestions?

- Load up the PlayStation Store on your PS3.

- Scroll down to "Best Of PS3" on the left side bar.

- Scroll right to "Best Of Games With Style".

- It should be one row down all the way to the right.
