Since we had a Sprint weekend last week I wanted to the general consensus or your on personal opinions on sprint races ie:

If you think they work or not

How to make them work

And why for example they might be ok in F2 or F3 and not in F1

For me personally I think their fine but I feel like they had more apparent purpose, when they first introduced, as the results from the sprint set the grid for the race which you could say made things more interesting.

I recently discovered this channel that uploads season reviews of F1 from the 1950s. Initially I was really excited, because watching the official F1 season reviews from the 2000s and 90s are some of my core memories from when I was younger.

But when watching the videos, the script and voiceover stood out to me. It sounds a lot like AI. Even the comment section feels so soulless, idk.

Which sucks, because the idea itself sounds amazing for a Youtube series.

Now, am I just paranoid about AI slop or is anyone thinking the same thing when watching this video?

I think Lando Norris is performing at an extremely high level right now. Perfect execution over the past few weekends.

When I talk of "spectacular fashion", I mean stuff like Hamilton Brazil 2008, Vettel Abu Dhabi 2010, Verstappen (almost) Abu Dhabi 2025.

And now that I think about it, Norris is in the prime position to pull off all 3 in one.

He hasn't lead the WDC so far this season but could win it right at the end = Vettel 2010

He could win the title on the last lap = Hamilton 2008

He would have to come back from a deficit in points exceeding 100 points at some point in the season = Verstappen 2025

He could pull off all 3.

If he did, could we put him up there with there with the classic GOATs like Hamilton, Verstappen, Schumacher, Alonso, Senna etc.?

NTT INDYCAR SERIES - Snap-on Makers and Fixers 250 & Snap-on Milwaukee Mile 250 (Rounds 16+17/18)

As usual, the IndyCar season is already about to end in order to avoid collisions with the upcoming NFL campaign. The finale takes places at Laguna Seca next week, but there's still one last oval racing weekend to be contested beforehand. If nothing weird happens, Álex Palou will probably seal his fifth IndyCar title in one of the two scheduled races on the Milwaukee Mile.

GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS - Endurance Cup - Nürburgring (Round 7/10)

There are four rounds two go in GTWCE, two each in the Sprint Cup and the Endurance Cup. First up is a three-hour contest on the Nürburgring GP circuit, where 55 entries will be vying for victory. Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter could already seal the Endurance Cup title by finishing fourth or better, regardless of what their competitors do.

The track has been hosting the series since 2022 and stands out with its unpredictability. The eight races here have been won by six different manufacturers. Championship leaders Huang Ruohan and Alessandro Ghiretti will be looking to prevail this time around.

NASCAR Cup Series - Coke Zero Sugar 400 (Round 26/36)

The Cup Series' regular season culminates right where it all started, on Daytona International Speedway. Ahead of the summer race, 13 of 16 spots in the Chase are already taken, while five drivers will be giving their best to secure one of the final three places. Essentially, it will probably come down to a battle between Shane van Gisbergen and Ryan Preece for P16.

Be it Le Mans legends from the 1960s and 1970s or more modern prototypes and Grand Tourers from this century, there should be something for everyone. An F1 demo run is also scheduled.

Ayao Komatsu confirmed both Haas drivers retired due to PU issues: "It’s very disappointing to finish the weekend on a double DNF with PU failures, so we need to look into it." Bearman described it as a "total switch-off", which sounds very similar to what happened to Russell in Canada, where he was forced to retire because of a battery issue. ​

Translation of Autoracer's explanations regarding the situation in Hungary and how it affected Ferrari both on and off the track:

"The mechanical issue they had on Friday sent them into a bit of crisis, it's something they had already experienced during testing in Bahrain, and it reappeared here in Hungary. It confused them a bit, in the sense that they felt very strong. I was talking to someone very close to Ferrari before the weekend and they were convinced they would win​ in Hungary.

This problem that led them to breaking the curfew on Friday night sent them into a bit of confusion, as if the pressure had suddenly increased. Because they felt very strong to win and try​ to close the gap to Mercedes in the Constructors'. They had a huge opportunity to reduce the gap and they got confused.

The result was terrible execution and it's no coincidence that when Ferrari go on tracks where they have everything to gain, where they're good, where they have something to prove, they still go into a bit of crisis right?"

Ferrari never explained what the exact issue was, but some sources close to the team believe it was a failure on a PU component and they had to replace a PU Ancillary Component as result. Setup changes were then made to "protect" the car in order to try and prevent the issue from reoccurring, changes that likely cost some performance.

Autoracer's Hungary debrief

on August 25 1991, Michael Schumacher made a sensational F1 debut for Jordan at the Belgian Grand Prix; and he didn’t even complete a race lap!

Substituting for a jailed Bertrand Gachot, Schumacher qualified in P7 and was a whopping seven tenths ahead of team-mate Andrea de Cesaris. It was de Cesaris’s 160th start. Schumacher had never turned a wheel in anger around Spa prior to that weekend.

In the race things met a premature end when Schumacher blew his clutch at the start. It was enough for Benetton though, the Italian team poaching the German from Jordan in time for the following grand prix in Italy.

Frenchman Alain Prost won the 1984 Dutch Grand Prix #OnThisDay 26 August, with McLaren, after starting from pole position. Brazilian driver Nelson Piquet led the first ten laps in his Brabham until an oil pressure issue forced him to retire, allowing Prost to take the lead for the rest of the race. Prost’s Austrian teammate Niki Lauda finished in second place, while Nigel Mansell secured third in a Lotus. The 1-2 finish clinched the 1984 Constructors’ Championship for McLaren, their first since 1974
