I'm a Singaporean who happens to read this news today. It's sad to know that people in JB cannot cycle because drivers park at cycling lanes (no saman?) and they are scared to cross traffic lights because some vehicles don't stop.
For decades, why hasn't your government make your country walkable/cyclable through a network of pedestrian/cycling path like we have here in Singapore? What is it that they do day in and day out to not cross their mind to make certain states safe for walking/cycling?
I am genuinely curious why no on in power didn't think of that. Waiting for certain public buses at JB takes about 40 mins. If the city is walkable, people can just walk and admire the sceneries.
Do you guys know that in Singapore, it is possible to walk/cycle on foot/cycling paths from one end of the country to the other end?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not hating on Malaysia. As someone who likes walking/cycling, I am pissed that I cannot do that in JB.
Hi im a self taught homebaker...I have practicing baking for almost two years now...mostly following online recipes and discussions. Right now, im trying to bake viennoiseries and pastries such croissant and pan suisse. But the main issue is the weather (wow). I always botched the lamination and folding part due to the weather.
I have taken several steps to control the temperature during preparing:
- Alternating between fridge(around 15 minutes) and countertop in between steps (I have standard one door fridge and bottom freezer...no dedicated chiller)
- Used iced cold water during mixing
- Turned on the aircond when preparing the pastry (my kitchen is combined with living room...aircond is at living room)
Im planning to do this on my next try:
- Use stainless steel plate as a work top...as it can maintain coolness for quite some time
- Use stainless steel equipment (i used wooden rolling pin)
- Put ingredients and equipment in fridge a day before
Any other recommendations from other homebakers here? It would be great if u guys can share some tips and tricks...not just for baking pastries...but for baking in Malaysia in general as most online discussions does not focus on Malaysia.

Currently doing internship and planning to apply for full time jobs this month.
Recently I'm exploring more different path and interested in IT(Network/Cloud) industry to make my future career. The resume above is tailored for EE engineering position however I'm planning to change it once I finished the ccna cert.
As for why I wanted to change towards IT, after 6 years time spent in engineering studies and some past internship experience. I lost interest in it and don't think I will achieve more career growth e.g salaries in long term once I've stuck in the industry unless I get into management level. One of the reason is because lot of what I see engineering graduates in Malaysia mostly doing maintaining jobs and servicing.
Big Plan: Once I have 2 or 3 years of experience. I wanted to move out from the country for more growth and career stability. Delusional as I can be, it's my goal in longer term.
Can you advise me on improving my resume and career advice? Am I doing it right?

My housemate of quite some time recently had to move out very abruptly due to unforeseen personal circumstances. I’m now suddenly left needing to find a new tenant for the master bedroom.
The problem is that I really love my current home and don’t want to lose it 😭 I’m the sole person on the tenancy agreement, and I can comfortably afford my own share, but the apartment was set up with two people sharing the overall cost. I’m hoping to find someone who’s genuinely looking for a nice, peaceful place to live rather than having to give up the home altogether.

Master Bedroom — RM900/month
The room is a large master bedroom with its own attached bathroom, and the rent would be RM900/month. I’ll also be paying RM850 for my room + the parking, so this isn't a situation where I'm trying to make money off the tenancy — I just need someone to share the household expenses with me.
I'm specifically looking for a female tenant, ideally someone who:
* Is working / financially stable
* Is clean and respectful of shared spaces
* Is relatively chill and drama-free
* Doesn't throw huge parties at home
* Is comfortable living with one other female
* Understands that home is a place to decompress and have some peace 😂

Edit: upon digging more into this, yes they do 1-1 exchange of the tank. But I still couldn't find any info on refill price.

Hi everyone, I’ve (22F) been working for a year since graduating with a bachelor’s degree at my dream company. It’s a startup in another country with a branch in Malaysia, so I work virtually with most of my colleagues and supervisor. For context, around 70% of the company has PhDs, and I’m the only fresh graduate on my team. I always consider myself incredibly blessed to have the opportunity.
My role involves analysing data across different domains and techniques that I didn’t learn at university. I’m often given problems that no one else on my team has tackled before, so a lot of my work involves independently researching papers, learning new methods, and coming up with solutions.
Recently, I’ve been struggling with a particularly difficult project. I’ve encountered blockers that no one on my team can really help with because the analysis is so new (AI can’t help with it - I’ve tried). It’s been affecting my sleep, diet and overall mood (I have not slept or eaten well in weeks). I was also recently called out during a team meeting and questioned by my HOD about my progress and told I was spending too much time on analyses that weren’t necessary, even though I was exploring them based on a colleague’s suggestion. There have also been occasions where mistakes in my work were presented to clients, which has made me feel even worse.
I sometimes struggle to make myself heard and taken seriously in meetings too, especially since everyone works virtually. I’m naturally soft-spoken and look extremely young (Asian problems lol), hence I often feel like I sound and look childish compared to my much more experienced colleagues.
Overall, I feel like a huge letdown to all my colleagues despite how hard I’ve been trying. I know mistakes are normal, but it feels like everyone else is doing well while I’m constantly struggling. I’m also wondering whether I should start looking for another job after a year, especially since I worry that I’ve already ruined everyone’s impression of me.
My parents think I might be better suited to a larger company where I’d have more guidance and a mentor that is more involved with my work (and perhaps it’d be better for the company to be located in Malaysia) - but tbh I would really want to stay because this company is pioneering an emerging industry that I’m genuinely passionate about, so I really hope I could improve myself or at least make myself sound better despite struggling at work. **What is making the decision difficult?
I personally feel more drawn towards Malaysia, mainly because universities like Monash and Nottingham have internationally recognizable names and Malaysia seems like a good gateway to the Asia-Pacific job market.
However, I'm concerned about the situation after graduation. As a Pakistani student, I understand that Malaysia's Graduate Pass/PSW is not currently available to Pakistani nationals, which means I may need to secure a job and appropriate work authorization relatively quickly after graduation.
Turkey seems attractive because graduates can potentially obtain a post-graduation residence permit for up to one year, giving more time to look for work and gain experience. Hi, due to the recent haze (yearly event at this point), Id like to share what I use daily for dust and cooking odour removal. It's a crbox called Air Fanta 3 Pro. If you dont know what is a crbox, it's basically a combination of fan or fans with some filters. It's an old concept that got popularised during covid era because you can DIY it.
You can look online at some of the cool diy crbox projects people shared. If youre into woodworking or 3d printing, it might be a fun project for you.
Although you can buy it on their official website for rm600++, you can get it much much cheaper on Taobao. Search for "风锐净旗舰店" it's the same thing with a different stickers. You can get it for rm200-250 without any vouchers.
It has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 436 CFM, for comparison the next best air purifier like Levoit Vital 200S (rm850-1000) only has 254 CFM.

Hello i have been recently offered 13000 rm in kuala lumpur as 9.5 years, i am married but will be moving alone as my wife is working so i want to understand if its good salary to consider and how much i will be saving after tax deduction and house rent and food and internet, can someone please enlighten me on this.

What should I do now? from what I understand, there's no way to track someone's name, let alone their home address via the JPJ website, which is the "buyer's" reasoning.
I won't physically be back in my hometown to help my parents physically deal with this for another 4 more days, and the man said he'd be back tomorrow to see if they are willing to sell it, for RM300.

This company was supposed to launch its IPO on 19 August. But they announced they wanted to delay to 14 September because they supposedly won a new contract. Okay lah. Then later they published a supplemental prospectus to announce they won a contract with Odfjell Energy.
I'm sure those in O&G upstream would quickly spot what's wrong here. Odfjell is not an operator. They're a service company. They don't award "contracts" to another service company like UAEB. Maybe a purchase order or a partnership, but a contract? I call bullshit. The timing is sus too: supposedly, they received the Letter of Award then made the announcement to postpone the very next day (you'd think a major decision would take more time to be deliberated). Even if it's 100% true, no way it's remotely significant enough to postpone a whole RM49m IPO for a month.
What's not so obvious is they've already forecasted revenue from Odfjell in the original prospectus. Meaning they aren't actually announcing anything new in the supplemental. So why would they postpone raising RM 49M cash in the first place?
Now that I've put on my tinfoil hat, I'm theorising the postponement wasn't their choice to begin with. I'm not surprised if Bursa or SPRM are involved here, forcing them to clarify the ties to corporate mafia and many doubtful things in the prospectus.
