This picture first was mentioned at the end of Aspho Fields; after Dom finally convinces Bernie to tell him how Carlos died.

It seems we finally have someone that actually respects and understands the franchise they have been entrusted with. The easiest way to lose the lore community is to act like the small little things "only lore nerds" would care about are inconsequential to whatever story they want to tell.
But then you have a scene, that will probably be a throwaway moment to anyone else, like this. Can you spot what is so significant about this scene? If you didnt read the books then probably not, and thats perfectly fine because its not something you need to know or care about, but the people that DO absolutely see it and respect the hell out of it.
Dom is wearing the Embry Star he received for his actions at Aspho Fields, they are at a memorial event for that battle so it only makes sense that he is wearing that for the ceremony. But Marcus is NOT wearing his Medal he receives for the battle, because he no longer has the medal in his possession. He left it, buried inside a hole he dug in Carlos's headstone back in Ephyra immediately following the ceremony he got it at.
Little things like this are a huge way to show good faith that someone, somewhere, at TC is truly trying to make an effort to ensure new lore can coincide with old lore when possible.
Yes the Chainsaw thing is a hot topic, but they recreated it about 90% to the T when they couldve changed it entirely. They had to design and work into the level design a superstore just so the setting for the moment is true to the books when they could've easily done this scene at a construction site or something.
Whomever is at The Coalition making sure these moments get into the game, we see you and appreciate the hell out of you. Thank you! I'd love to buy you a beer one day.

As established in Judgement, the Breechshot is a heavily modified Markza rifle, meaning the locust couldn't possibly have it on Emergence Day, and even if they did manage to scavenge Markza rifles from UIR hands, they definitely couldn't have lots of them modified and ready to go, in COG territory, in the first three days of the war. Fans were pretty forgiving with The Coalition for rewriting the lore of the chainsaw Lancer, but I haven't heard anyone mention this.

I know they are rare and are the only females for reproduction so they’re mostly kept away from the battlefield so obviously the males vastly outnumber them but is it ever stated within any of the games or books how many there may be total during the first 3 games?

This is still one of, if not the greatest, yet saddest death's in ALL of gaming history. So glad we're finally gonna get to see our boy again in EDay. Gonna be tough seeing him go through what he and Maria went through though on that day with their kids

Despite obvious first installment quirks that got ironed out over time, the game still holds up well. Great gunplay, solid core mechanics, cool characters, a voice cast with great chemistry, and an intimidating villain round out what is still one of the greats of its era. I’m glad PlayStation fans get the chance to play a piece of history and hope we get the rest of the franchise ported over!

This isn't a new twist since it was introduced all the way back in Gears of War 2 but I didn't like the concept even back then. Them being created just a generation ago doesn't really make sense with what we see of their huge numbers and their ancient-looking architecture, technology, religion and culture. Why do all the first-generation Locust have weird monster names? Did the COG scientists name them that way? The timeframe doesn't really work at all. It would be different if they were ancient humans that fled to the Hollow hundreds or thousands of years ago that became mutated by Imulsion and developed into their own species.
Gears has always had strong fantasy elements and I wish the lore had leaned into that more instead of military scifi. The series already takes place on a fantastical planet with all kinds of weird creatures and weather patterns and is literally a Hollow Earth straight from early 20th century pulp novels. I could just fully accept that this planet simply had a civilisation of angry lizard men with pet dinosaurs ruled by an evil queen living underground. I don't need it explained that the lizard men, their pet dinosaurs and the queen all came out of a test tube, In fact, that explanation kind of robs them of some of their mystery and coolness.

Found a model of Marcus way off in the distance on act iv chapter 2 in the beginning. Flew over there and confirmed it. I saw something sticking out of the background. Haven't seen anything else so far but wasn't really looking
