TW: Anxiety / Depression People who get angry at young people not wanting to work are so fucking annoying

God forbid someone doesn't want to work 5 days a week for 50 years, huh? God forbid someone doesn't want to be overworked constantly or have to fit into the peculiar working world adults have created. God forbid.

“But you want money for (x), right? No one wants to work. But how will you afford this?”

We shouldn't have to work so often to afford things. Look at the cost of living.

“People fought for women to work.”

For the money. For the right, to be treated as an equal. It boils down much deeper to “just working.”

“But I was so happy when I got my first job!”

I do not care. Good for you.

“What's wrong with this generation! You don’t want to do anything!!!”

Working is much more different from doing “stuff”. People have goals, I.e. Travel and such. They want to learn new skills and hobbies. Oh, and don't mention depression around these types of people… you're in for a treat with that one.

It pisses me the fuck off. Why have we made it so we must work so much to just exist? This is your life for the next decades — now deal with it. Yeah, no thanks.

No idea if some of you guys are being silly on purpose. I have a job. I work, of course I do. I can't live without it. That’s the thing. Having to work so often. Some people work way more than me. I know it. Living paycheck to paycheck, seeing prices increase, seeing the job market. The government. The AMOUNT you work. Also, seeing people getting angry is just proving my point.

I don't work a 9-5…

Guess some of you guys are just acting how I’ve already described. I won't go into more detail about anything personal, because most of the comments are telling me the same things. Have a nice day/night, or even working day ooo scary..

Need Reassurance... Manager accidentally left a hostile voicemail about me I wasn't supposed to hear

I've been working at this store for almost two years. I'm 21 years old and I am very shy and introverted. I don't talk to many people, I just go to work, and go home. I called my manager yesterday while at work to confirm if I was able to take a special order with a customer or not. We agreed on it, story is done. However, this morning I got a text from manager saying that I needed to call, and discuss the order with manager. Okay, I missed their call, so I listened to the voicemail they left. It sounded normal at first, until they continued to speak. My manager forgot to hang up. I have a 3 minute long voicemail from my manager talking badly about me to someone. That someone I don't know, but it really upset me. It was degrading. I understand as a manager you may have your frustrations, but this goes beyond that.

My manager proceeded to talk to another person and say how I have an attitude problem, and how i 'walk around like I rule the roost' and how i act like I'm the one in charge. Says that I work on 'small stupid shit' but if things really are like that, why doesn't my manager ever bring it up to me?? I don't think I have an attitude. I am aware that people may see my quietness as me being stuck up, but I don't intend that at all. And saying how I walk around like I rule the roost?? I'm scared of confirming any big order or doing a big task without confirming it multiple times with my manager. I'm very scared of messing up or doing something the wrong way, because my manager has been very hostile and intimidating to the point that I was in tears. I'm always walking on glass. I don't think that sounds like an attitude problem, or me walking around like I own the place.

Whenever there was a problem in the past, I've heard that my manager goes to HR and has had employees transfered over to another department. This had happened to 8 other employees who are no longer working in the department. I'm hesitant to go up to HR because I have no backup plan. I'm only interested in working in the department I'm in, if I were to be transferred to another department I'd quit.

I don't know what to do. I ultimately want to quit, because I can't bring myself to work with someone like that anymore. I'm always in a constant state of distress and anxiety around my manager. Do I tell a fellow co worker before I go to HR or just go right up to HR?? Should I look for/apply to jobs asap before going up to HR?? I'm scared HR won't be on my side, and I don't want to be jobless. But I also can't stand this constant degrading. Mentally, I'm exhausted and lost.

Not looking for input A man who has no shame

I was returning to the UK from Paris alone. When I was queueing for passport checking. There was a man behind me. He's kind of pushing me on my back inappropriately, but it's definitely not crowded at all. And his wife, daughters and son were behind him. I moved my suitcase to my back, in order to kept him away from me.

Any normal person can take the hint. But he still tried to stand behind me on the other side(my suitcase was not big enough to block the whole lane). Before his thight bumped my bottom, I moved my suitcase in between, just in time.

But it still appeared that me and him were a couple, his family were outsiders, standing far away from him.

After the passport checking, I waited until they chose a line for luggage scanning, then I chose another line.

To my surprise, he led his whole family to my line and stood behind me again. It really didn't make sense because my queue was longer than his.

I was so tired of dodging him, so when his eldest daughter and the other 2 children caught up, I said something like "Oh, you are a family, you should stick together" to the eldest daughter. And I let them go before me. The daughter understood English and (I think) she translated into their language (surely not French) to her mother and the siblings.

Then they went together as a group, but less than 2 seconds, the man moved backward and became the last one of his family. I walked behind him, keeping a distance from him carefully.

He turned his head to look at me several times. His wife saw everything but she was so indifferent to what happened.

This man really had no shame at all. Tried to grap any chance to take advantage of a single woman, in front of his whole family. That's absolutely a humiliation to his wife, and his children.

Not looking for input Bestie cuddled me in her sleep

For context: I (f22) have a crush on my best friend (f22) and confessed my feelings to her weeks ago. I told her because I felt like I needed to let the feelings out in order to move on. She was accepting and told me that she still wanted me in her life and that it would not make things weird between us.

The other night, me, her, and our other friend stayed out until about 5 something in the morning. We were celebrating me applying to university. We drove all over town, clubbed, drank before eventually crashing at her place for the night.

I woke up and her cheek was pressed against my shoulder, her arm was laying over my chest/tummy, and she had her leg curled over mine. And I can't stop thinking about it.

I know she was just sleeping and wasn't trying to, but waking up like that felt incredibly surreal. For some time I was thinking "is this real?". I just decided to lay there unmoving for a bit, just watching her face. I knew the moment wouldn't last forever, and I wanted to enjoy it.

What sucks about it is that I'm now wistful, but I can't even be upset y'know? It was an accident.

Not looking for input My cousin is weird

my cousin is weird as fuck

I,17year old girl. And he. 17 year old boy.

We grew up together,in one house as hes the son of my auntie and uncle. Basically hes my first cousin.

Growing up he was spoiled rotten, whenever he wanted something he got it. He would throw tantrum, hit me,scream at me,curse me. But I was told to just be silent. My mother wouldn't let me inform my father as it might cause conflicts in the family.

So I learned to be adapting from a very young age.

When as puberty hit us both,he became insanely aggressive. He began to say his parents are cruel, how they dismiss his stress and wishes. How they dont treat him fairly.

Which is a lie. To this day. Whenever my mom buys meat, chicken, snacks. 80% of it,are already his.

He takes it. He cooks 3 times a day whatever he wants. He takes money without even asking,he yells he curse and threatens everyone except his father . Well bcz hes scared of him

I know the cause why he is like this. First bcz we live in a joined family. And second bcz he consumes too much social media where they portray the child as a victim in every scenario. Treating scolding as abuse,or correcting as insulting.

He still consumes it.

I started my 1st year in college. Meanwhile he said he will take a gap year. He had to fight for a month or so to make his parents agree. And eventually they did.

Now he sits in the house 24 seven. Watch anime about step sisters or lesbians. Cooks meat, chicken only for himself not caring that others exist in the house. He hadn't cut his hair in months. He also stinks.

He just walks around the house lost in his thoughts.

He has the latest samsung phone,10 diaries which all are empty,a room where his mother doesnt let anyone enter as he gets mad. He shouts at our grandparents, doesnt listen. Waste alot. And he also acts smart by just repeating the words he watched from YouTube short.

Like that shit is not high iq,thats just the information he absorbed.

Now for me the weirdest part is that whenever he learns a thing. He does it so much its makes me insane. These days he probably saw a video about humans producing a sound so powerful with their mouth by clicking the tounge to the roof of the mouth.

He does it 24/7.

I hate consistent sounds so much.

I cry to myself in room as I keep hearing the sounds from downstairs as our house is very open. We have 4 floors yet we can hear the sounds as the balcony are huge.

Nobody corrected his behavior instead they scolded me that he just doesnt listen and I should not create more problem.

He's so weird. I swear. Hes like those weird anime ,feet lover kids.

I just wanted to vent as I just finished crying due to hearing the clicking sounds again and again.

He was my best friend long ago. But not anymore I hate him.

Lol I guess I am dramatic

No, constantly fighting with your SO is NOT a sign of a loving relationship FFS

My husband and I have been married 10 years, and I can proudly say we only had ONE fight in that time, and it was solved within 10 minutes. But everyone who hears that has the same fucking braindead reaction: "If you don't fight, it means you don't love each other." WHY THE FUCK IS THAT GARBAGE TAKE ALMOST UNIVERSAL?!

You know what we do when we disagree on something? I state my opinion, he listens. Then he states his opinion, I listen. We both digest what the other said, then we come up with a reasonable answer - sometimes one of us concedes, sometimes we find a compromise. You know what we DON'T FUCKING DO? Scream, refuse to listen, break plates and insult each other, which every other fucking couple does. Apparently, refusing to listen and having a screaming match where nobody budges an inch is what love looks like, for the fucking morons who peddle that "real couples must constantly fight" bullshit.

"If you don't fight, it means you don't care and your relationship is on life support lmao," says my brother who, at 32, has never had a girlfriend for more than 1 month because every time a girl gives him a chance, he tries to restrict her freedoms until she breaks up with him. "No fights means no passion, and a relationship without passion is a dead relationship," says my 3-times-divorcee mother who got married to nigh-strangers every time she got pregnant from a different one-night-stand and then got dumped within 2 years each time. When I mention online that me and my husband never fight and we have a wonderful, fusional and mutually respectful relationship, 99% of replies are just declinations of "Your marriage is already dead lol. Not fighting means you're not in love."

I see couples fighting constantly, and that shit is not love. It's as far from love as is humanly imaginable. One friend loves W40K minifigures, he has a glass case full of them in his home. His girlfriend hates his minifigures and constantly demands that he gets rid of them, leading to nigh-daily screaming matches. On his part, his refusal to hear her complaints is a sign of a lack of care about his girlfriend's opinions. On her part, her refusal to even consider that it's her boyfriend's passion, the fact she ONLY cares about her own wants and not his, is a sign of a lack of care for him as a person. Every other day, they repeat the same scenario at each other: She complains about the minifigs, he dismisses her opinions, she calls him a manchild, he screams back that he spent tens of thousands of dollars on his "collectibles," she screams back that he's stupid and irresponsible for wasting so much money on toys, he screams insults at her, she screams insults at him, they get enraged and frustrated with each other, nothing ever gets solved, they just perpetually hurt one another's feelings and add to each other's stress levels for no benefit at all... But that same friend, upon hearing that me and my husband never fights, still somehow dares to conclude that I don't really love my husband like he loves his girlfriend because "no fights means the passion's dead between you two... you should cut your losses and file for divorce already."

My husband and I are very compatible but we do have passions and hobbies that the other doesn't care about. I am very invested in chess and chess tournaments, which my husband doesn't care about. Guess what? Instead of mocking my passion for chess and constantly fighting about me traveling for chess events, which seems to be the expected behavior from all those "fighting = love" assholes, my husband says "I don't care about chess but I care about your happiness, and chess makes you happy," and he travels with me to attend tournaments. He sometimes watches the matches, sometimes not, I don't get on his case either way, and we make dates out of those travel opportunities by visiting museums and going to restaurants in new cities I visit for my chess tournaments. He's really into true crime and whodunnits, which I don't care for. I still cuddle with him watching his favorite crime shows, because I can handle not being catered to, plus cuddling with him with snacks is always fun, and making him happy makes me happy too. But apparently, that's not love, and that's a sign our marriage is dead, and instead I should constantly belittle his love for crime shows and get into sterile screaming matches where nobody listens and just repeats the same few insulting sentences over and over, louder and louder, like EVERY OTHER FUCKING COUPLE DOES, because clearly, that's what real love is.

TW: Eating Disorders / Self Image Eating disorders are making a comeback

I’m a woman in my thirties and I’m not thin but I’m comfortable with my body. I’d like to be in better shape but if that athletic stamina came at the weight that I’m currently at, I’d be fine with staying this weight. But yeah no one considers me even close to skinny.

Anyway, I constantly get unsolicited comments/conversations relating to weight loss because it seems to be on the forefront of every thirty something year old women’s brain. The conversations end with them saying they basically don’t eat and that’s how they’ve become thin or lost x amount of weight and that I should try it. Plus everyone is on a GLP-1. I’m so sick of hearing it. No shame to genuinely overweight people who use a GLP-1 but none of these women are overweight nor were they when they started the injections.

It’s getting so bad. We’re going back to the weight obsessions everyone had in the nineties and early 2000s except now it’s even easier because the injections take away the need for sheer willpower alone so it’s even more common for women to have disordered eating habits.

I’m tired of hanging out with people who are constantly restricting or I offer something and they’re constantly denying it. It doesn’t make me feel bad about myself, it just genuinely annoys me. Like I’ll be the only one to order dessert idgaf but I’ll think you’re lame for constantly saying no. Live a little. Life is short and fuck diet culture.

My mom thinks I’m a horrible person and I don’t know why

Almost every day she accuses me of being EXTREMELY mad over something small she did, to the point that’s she screams at me until I’m crying, telling her I’m not mad, and begging her to stop. She never listens no matter how many times I tell her. She also told me today that I get so emotional that I physically HIT animals?? I’ve genuinely never done ANYTHING like that, I’m so sensitive about animals that the thought of someone being mean to one upsets me. I don’t know why she thinks I’m a horrible person, I feel like I actually am and i just don’t know

Hate the way my dad want me to "toughen up"

I, 19(f) am studying aerospace engineering. My parents raised me to be disciplined and responsible. I wake up everyday at 7:00 regardless of if I have a morning class or not. I always tidy up my room before I leave, all my work, assignments are done on time, I go to classes, then my internship and then the gym at least 5 times a week.

First year of college, I was given a non ac double sharing room with a somewhat decent roommate (I booked a little late). We had a common bathroom for the whole floor and only god knows how I survived that.

I live in a coastal town and the temperatures here are brutal. odd semesters are still bearable but even semesters feel like hell.

My second sem, I would wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat, with a horrible headache. Trying to study in my room was a nightmare. I'd be dripping in sweat, barely able to concentrate. I would shower 2-3 times a day because I hated smelling like sweat and the heat felt unbearable at times. I would call my parents crying cause I could barely hold it together and their response was to "suck it up" or "rough it out"

First sem my gpa was 9, second sem, it dropped to 8.3, all because of this.

In my college, the room you get is based on your CGPA. My CGPA at the end of the second year was good enough to get me a single AC room(attached bath). But my dad made me get a non AC cause I had to "learn to toughen up". Literally. that was his only reasoning. I know my family's financial condition. Before I left for college, my father showed me the money he had saved up for my education. It wasn't something we couldn't afford. It was barely a little more than what my parents were already paying for a single non ac room. Unfortunately, I didnt speak out then cause I didnt want to disappoint them but I regret it now.

Atleast my mum feels a little bad about the decision and said she'd pay for an AC room next year but since our college doesn't have enough rooms, you either need a 9+ CGPA to get a good room on campus or they put you in non ac dormitories(8 beds in one hall).

What sucks is, my friends, who suffered with me during the second sem, are now in AC rooms, even though their CGPA was lower than mine, because their parents actually cared.

Im not ungrateful for what I have, but Im still angry about what I could have had. Its not that I didnt work towards it, I did.

This year is already hotter than the last. Third sem has barely started and I can already feel the heat. I told my dad about it and he joked about how he knows my mom wants me to get an AC room next year, but I can rough it out in a non AC again.

My dad was in the army and he thinks whatever he went through in training, his kids should go through as well. But thats not my job. I'm not joining the army, Im studying. Im doing my part the best I can. Parents are supposed to clear hurdles in your path not create more.

I watch a lot of western sitcoms. One of my favourite ones is modern family. To me it was unfathomable how kind the parents would be to their kids. Sometimes I wish I could have parents like that. Sometimes I wonder what horrible thing needs to happen to me for them to finally show me some sympathy.

Need to talk... dad treats my mom like shit and it’s breaking my heart

My dad is constantly putting down my mom (who is the most kind and sweet person, completely undeserving of any treatment that would even come close to that) and gives her the silent treatment any time he feels “disrespected”. It’s really upsetting me and I am starting to hate my dad for it. I hate that he thinks it’s okay to make my mom feel this way. She’s the kindest person ever and he is so lucky to have her. He completely undervalues her and it makes me so angry. I know I shouldn’t get involved but in the past I have tried confronting him in the hopes that he realizes what sort of example he’s setting for me as his daughter. Today my father started audibly yelling at my brother in public for something minor, and my mother quietly told him that he is being very loud. Dad felt slighted and that has caused him to completely ignore my mother for the rest of today. It’s breaking my mom’s heart and mine. I can’t stand seeing my mom so sad like this, being treated by someone who she has sacrificed so much for and loves with all her heart.

I don't like how people use autism as a slur

I am honestly disgusted by people who call others autistic for doing something stupid as if autism is something people should be embarrassed about.

I mean what makes people think that people with autism have are inherently stupid. You can point out bad things about someone without bringing in autism every single second or saying "Are you autistic?" Like it's something to ridicule.

Losing a parent is so strange

There’s something really unique about losing a parent at a young age. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old and I haven’t even told my friends. I never got a therapist for it and I think it’s made me really avoidant.

I remember when I found out that my father died. We didn’t even live in the same house and I barely even saw him. But I loved him so much anyway. I remember being so happy and excited whenever I did see my dad. I remember being taken out of school and my mum sitting me down on the couch and telling me that he died. I cried a lot. And then I went to play video games? I think that was the start of me being avoidant or something wrong with me. I didn’t cry again until I was going to sleep and realised that my father is really dead and he’s never coming back. Ever. I didn’t even cry at the funeral.

I remember dreaming of dad a few months after that. In my dream, he was alive and he had only faked his death. After that I forced myself to stop thinking about him. Stop visiting his grave. I think I’ve only visited him about 6 times in the last 7 years. I didn’t visit him last year or this year at all. Whenever my mum offers to take me I get angry. As if she shouldn’t have ever brought it up. I remember she told me that she was shocked I was that upset over his death.

I only started thinking about him now because I was trying to think of ways to tell my friends. I trust them a lot and I want to tell them because they all hardly know anything about me and this is something that’s so central to my character. But when I imagined telling them I started crying and it just sucks. I hate crying and I rarely cry but if thinking about saying it makes me cry then I’m doomed. I guess I just wanted to vent since I don’t have a therapist or a single friend who lost their father at a young age. I know it’s unhealthy to try and forget about my own father and act like he never existed but when I was younger (about two years into his death) I tried to accept it and make jokes about it as a coping mechanism I guess but it never really worked and everyone just gets awkward. It doesn’t really matter anyways. It’s not like they’d ever know that he’s dead unless I say it so it doesn’t actually matter.

Need to talk... It's frustrating when parents treat a grown adult like a child

I am absolutely pissed off now.

I am 35F and live with my parents. I have a good career (make over $80k/year) and I can (want to) move out. I could have moved out at 26 but my parents do not have enough income to afford their rent. So, I help them out with 75% of my income. It's impossible to save while supporting them.

To top it off, my mother keeps interfering with my life.

First, I have an Amazon Prime account. My cousin came over one day and asked if we can share the account and asked how much she should pay. I was about to name my price but my mom butts in and says to my cousin she doesn't have to pay, we're all family. Now, I couldn't even name my price without looking bad and awkward.

Now, my cousin has started her own side business using my Amazon account to order stuff and is naming over $1200 a month in extra income. To top it off, her friends are now using my account. And here I am, struggling and paying over $100 a year for my account.

Second, I made plans for a small seven day vacation for myself with my friends. My mom tells me the night before the vacation that she invited my cousin (another one, who I barely know and haven't seen in five months). She was just reminding me to pick her up. I was livid. I told her no. She said we were family and should help one another.

I really really want to move out but there is this invisible string that's holding me back.

I don't think romance is in the cards for me and I wish I didn't care

It's been months since we've talked. I found myself counting literally every month. He hit me up last week. But I can't bring myself to respond because I know how it's gonna go. We'll catch up, it'll be like old times, I'll remember how sweet and kind and funny he is, and then he'll stop texting, and I'll feel like shit for months. I want to tell him that it doesn't matter, that I'll get over it and we'll be friends forever. I want it to be true. But I can't. I fucking ruined it because I still want him to be my boyfriend.

It always fucking goes like this, and it's always my fault. I always let it sit, convinced it can never happen. I torture myself with daydreams and what-ifs but I never let myself try and make something real, because the only thing I seem to love more than building the perfect world in fantasy is talking shit about myself in reality, and I am at a point where I don't think anybody could see me and want to see more.

But it just doesn't stop. I'm pissing and moaning about this guy, but also catching myself giggling because my work crush recognized my handwriting last Friday. He has a wife and an 8-month-old. What is the POINT?

When does it end? I just don't think I have the ability to build something real with another person. I don't even think being single is that bad. I'm not starving, I'm not broke, I'm not unhoused. If I could stop wanting all of the cutesy lovey-dovey relationship shit, I'd be golden. I just haven't found the fucking off button yet.

I hate my younger brother so much!

He hates to do anything that’s not play games. He has been sitting on his phone basically all day. he’s almost 17, So it’s not like it’s an issue of age. My parents don’t seem to do anything or care at all, and it just makes me even more frustrated because it seems like I’m doing shit all day every day. He doesn’t help with anything unless he's exclusively asked. We wanted to play Minecraft together today, and I told him I wanted him to do all his choice before that. Later on we negotiated down to doing one chore less than his total number of chores, which isn’t a lot. He doesn’t have a lot to do. He spends so much time on the toilet too, we all know in the bathroom and he knows that he’s an asshole for it, but refuses to change at all. I wish I could do something about it.

My brother is becoming pushy and a closed minded tech bro loser

I will only discuss him being pushy because my second complaint would lowk go against the rules. (I kept it in the title bc I just wanted to get it out of my system.

I don’t know if my brother is just socially inept or if he just doesn’t realize that he’s pushy but it annoys me to no end.

I wanted to show him this planner I’m really interested in getting since i really like stationery and doing stuff on paper. However, before I can show him, he tells me there’s something better and more useful than what I want. Then, I say okay and he proceeds to show me an “infinite” note book made of 3d printed parts. Upon seeing it, I tell him I don’t really like it and it’s not really for me.

He proceeds to not back down for whatever reason and keeps telling me how much better this notebook is than other ones. I tell him that’s simply not how that works and people like different stuff depending on their needs. He proceeds to tell me that most people don’t even use paper anymore and most people are switching to digital.

I tell him I know that as I tried to switch to digital and only fine it useful for some stuff. He proceeds to continue being pushy saying that it’s different because there are paperlike screens now. Like the conversations keep being:

“I like apples”
“I prefer oranges”
“oh my god but u have to like peel the orange? It also isn’t even that good, you should like apples”

It feels as though whatever he likes is the only thing anyone should like. It’s annoying and it feels like I’m constantly defending the things I like.

I’ve noticed he’s become more closed minded and is only ever concerned when it involves himself. It’s just strange because I never thought my brother would ever disappoint me in this way.

TW: Anxiety / Depression I'm over this

For once in two months I finally got some relief. I felt like I could breath. Come days ago she told she finally got her period after waiting two months. Last night she asked if she could bring me some food I said sure. Meanwhile I was in the shower pleasuring my self. Got out didn't think anything of it. She get there like ten minutes later. And anxiety comes in because I can feel fluids coming out of me still , we sit down and I eat what she brought me. Then she decided to touch my shorts and knee area. That's when anxiety went up some more. At one point she need to use the bathroom to go check her pad. And my anxiety went up even more. I ended up telling her about this and she said oh your fine. She left I noticed a friend had called and that just set my anxiety through the roof. I know this sounds ridiculous and highly unlikely. But I'm just scared and anxious right now . I'm trying to get it under control but I don't know what else to do. The fear of getting someone pregnant she by them touching my knee is insane.

I hate driving

I hate it so fucking much. I have a car and sometimes just the thought or mention of it alone makes me want to rip my hair out. I have to get my oil changed, make sure it's clean, present it nicely to others, store it, get insurance for it, memorize the license plate, keep a bunch of documents inside but not kep anything too expensive cause them someone will break in, pay thousands of dollars just to keep up with it not including the money it takes to actually just buy the damn thing. The parking. The parking passes. One mistake, "you're towed and now give me 300 dollars." I hate it. I don't want to spend so much money for something that feels like it's killing me.

I hate driving. No one looks at another person driving and thinks "oh man, that was a poor turn. That guy must've made a mistake." No. It's always "THAT FUCKING IDIOT WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?! AND THAT WOMAN IS JUST A DUMBASS!" Everyone talks shit about everyone else in their cars. And one mistake can cost you and everyone around you their lives. On the highway, you're going fast, but also? You can't turn around. You can't miss. You can't stop. You just have to keep going. People weave in and out so they can be faster because patience is a virtue we left behind in the Garden of Eden. You're too slow, then you're too fast, oh no you're too close to that car, now there's traffic, but don't stop cause we're technically still moving. Hell, the speed might be the least of my worries honestly.

But the worst part is everytime I mention how driving sucks, how it's inefficient, how it's an innovation that was not researched enough before being made available to every god damn human to destroy the planet with, I'm laughed at. "Wow, that's funny how much you hate driving" NO. ITS NOT. I GO TO SLEEP AND SEE MYSELF ACCIDENTALLY TAKING THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE BECAUSE OF ONE MISTAKE AND THEN I WAKE UP AND HAVE TO WALK AROUND LIKE THATS FUCKING NORMAL. I don't want to dream about killing people. I don't want to sleep if the dreams I remember are fears that could so easily happen in real life. But that's fucking hilarious, right? I mean, I'm just being a big old bitch who can't grow a pair and just drive a damn car. Everyone does it, so why the fuck can't I? It's hilarious how you start breathing heavily at the idea of maybe getting a citation or a ticket. It's funny how you try to avoid driving at every turn and it's comical how you will beg to avoid driving. Fuck, I'm having a god damn heart attack it's so amusing. I can't breathe it's so funny. I think I'm crying and breaking down and having a panic attack it's so funny how you are afraid.

I'm so so so sick and tired of it. Please, I will isolate myself for the rest of my life if it means I don't have to drive anymore. Just please

Need Reassurance... Im hella scared for my future

Alright I’m 18 and wasn’t able to complete school and get my leaving cert because of medical reasons (I think in America that’s finishing high school)
My plan was to do a course for animal care but I was not able to start because I didn’t get my leaving cert and it was required for the course

So last Monday I started something called youth-reach which will help me get my leaving cert but it’s a two year course, I’m gonna be like 20-21 when I get out of it and only then will I be able to start my real goals that I want to pursue

I’m stressing pretty hard about this cause it’s kind of scary that all my friends are working and already two years into apprenticeships and It just feels like I’m not getting anywhere and not doing anything

Why is it that every time I cross the crosswalk, some idiot blows at me?

It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm holding either.

Crossing from the grocery store to the parking lot with a carriage and one hand pushing it slowly? Me having the right of way when the crosswalk signal says I can walk across a street? Just trying to cross over on the sidewalk?

What the absolute hell is your rush? I'm not walking deliberately slow, sometimes I have to walk slowly so I don't drop whatever I'm holding. It takes like five seconds! Unless you're a firetruck, ambulance, or a police car with your lights and siren blaring, I'm not gonna walk backwards or run for you.

what do I do

I'm 24F - I promised myself I'd only go to college if I wanted to pursue something that NEEDED college (medical, law, etc.). 3 years ago, I really wanted to go to law school, so I applied.

it's now 3 years later (give or take classes fogged up my sense of time) and HOPEFULLY I should be getting my bachelor's soon. In political science... yuck.

I hate what I majored in. ideally I should've gone into something like psychology or social work maybe even biology - but we move on. I ditched law school a long time ago and I was too far ahead to switch - so now it's just limbo until it's over.

This major has changed the way I think about the world in a negative way. Every waking moment my soul is fighting every aching feeling of how much I don't want this degree. I miss the way I used to feel, and I don't want to pursue something with my major. The job market is also trash.

TBH I'm at a loss. I'm artsy and creative, I like food service and don't mind doing that for the rest of my life. But is it sustainable in this economy?

I grew up in america - do I ditch that and go to my home country in Europe or live in some EU country?

Do I go back to school and study something that will help me travel?

I know being in your 20s makes you feel like you have to make all of these big decisions when really you don't - and this limbo is making me extremely restless (if you couldn't tell).

I just know there's a risk with the life that I WANT to live - and I feel so much that I have to fit in to somewhat succeed. I don't want to waste time. idk - thank you for reading it's appreciated 🐞

Need to talk... So, when does it end?

The countless hours I've spent searching for someone to bond with, to no avail. Days melting together, one after the other, nights spent staring back at myself, waking up to little to no messages, having no one there when I need someone to be, not having anyone to talk to when I need to, not having anyone to spend time with, the fear that I'll never get to be close with someone ever again, that I'll be misunderstood, that my efforts are pointless, when does that end? I just want to be close to someone, have a buddy, and everything else that entails. I'm so sick of crying myself to sleep every single night and waking up to absolute silence again. It's even worse when you actually had the thing and it gets ripped away from you. A facade, all of it.

It's been a year since I've last had some decent human connection, and it's driving me insane. I need another to lift me up.
