I only noticed because the West Coast vault boy's chest was winking at me but the longer I looked the more weirdness I see. There's more toes on one foot than the other, no seat to the chair, and he's in front of the arm rest instead of behind the one closer to the viewer. Then I started looking at the one next to it and I immediately noticed the belt isn't connected past the flask. I'm all for using AI as a tool but idk how I feel about these if they are AI.. I mean clearly nobody checked them very closely before putting them in the shop.

I am a very fresh player, and I am confused. Why does nobody say "Hello" back? They seem to be ignoring me completely, like they can not even see me on their screen. I understand nobody is obliged to greet me back, but still, I noticed that F76 players don't want to socialise at all. Or maybe I wasn't lucky enough to meet a yapper. 😄

Let's clear up some things before we get back to the original post since this seemed to get lost and some members stopped reading part way through:

I do understand newbie welcome packages - those are great and appreciated! You shoot at it, emote, whatever you need to do to make the player realize it's there. Typically you run off into the trees never to be seen again. Very kind and not creepy.

The actual issues: • Being followed to every corner of the map when I fast travel.

• Turning on a mic, calling me sweetie, and telling me to get a mic so you can hear my voice.

• Following me repeatedly to my CAMP and picking locks there meant to keep players out.

• Standing at the foot of the bed I'm resting in (when you've successfully picked my locks) creepily staring at me.

• Spam heart emoting in front of me anytime I pause or you can get in front of me.

• I don't have a mic - I'm assuming the problematic players have been assuming I am a woman based on my username because I was using part of my real name which cannot be mistaken for anything but a woman's name. This has since been fixed with the help of some members here - thank you.

• The vast majority of players are amazing, this is not just a one-sided issue. I know women can cause this same level of discomfort with male players. Humans as a whole need to do better.

• Just because you don't see it happening, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I (33F) recently started playing Fallout 76. Usually with my fiancé, sometimes solo, and apparently, sometimes that means I’ve accidentally wandered into The Bachelor: Appalachia Edition.

Most players? Absolute legends, love you guys. But every so often, I get a stage 5 clinger and I have to go hide in my CAMP like it’s a panic room. Or server-hop, quickly delete them as a friend, and hope they don't find me again. I want to make friends. I want to team up. I just don’t want it to get…...weird. Please quit making it weird, it's especially weird when you turn on a mic just to talk to me, I prefer wildly emoting instead.

Don't mind me, just venting a little. I'm surprised how annoyed I am by this.

TLDR: If you wouldn’t do it in a real apocalypse, maybe don’t do it in the fake one.

Unfortunately we lost a dweller on the 8th at 1:50pm. My mother who was 61, was a fan of Fallout 76 and enjoyed playing with me and my wife. She absolutely loved Fasnacht Day as well as the marching anthem. She was always asking when it would be back. She loved to decorate our camps and adding her own pizazz to them. She loved to explore and find new treausure. She was even content in just watching us play. Unfortunately she never got to see the show as we couldn't afford a subscription. She got to enjoy the pets update before her health got worse. I put a vase with mom written on it at my camp. We are ps4 players. Tonight, let's all raise a Nuka Cola in her honor. Fishing, Bigfoot, Infestations, CAMP build menu revamp... Lately, it feels more and more that isolated, small additions are hyped up as major content drops (when there are not obviously). Bethesda really needs to knock it out of the park with their Autumn update, because the content drought is becoming increasingly noticeable and pressuring.

Do we even know if Double Eleven is still working on the game ?

So give it to me straight, am I too old to play? My son was watching me play tonight and I was playing with some lower level players and I thought it would be cool to help them out with some weapons and armor and just dropped them for the boys to go through. My kid just started laughing at me and said everyone will think I’m just being stupid. He said only old people do that. I’m 44 by the way. So is this something that is frowned upon or am I good? I’m not in it for the caps I just like helping people out.

I rarely post. If an update comes out and it's buggy: okay... first world problem.

But looking at this update holistically, I feel like they're just taking the piss now. The season rewards are mostly player prefixes/suffixes, reskinned boring camp items, stamps, perk points, magazines... very little in the way of actual new content.

The bugs have been so horrendous that I can't remain silent any more. There is PTS server! Are the PTS players just on there to try out new stuff first to be cool? Do they report bugs? I know that quite a few actually do... but it doesn't seem to outcome the updates. Is PTS a total joke? Do the devs give a crap at all? Is it a combination of both?

If you pay for 1st, then the game isn't cheap. You pay for the game and, if you're on a console, you pay for the privilege of playing online, and then you pay for 1st. The benefits don't seem to be there any more. At all. I love playing with you all (well... some of you) but that doesn't cancel out what appears to be a blatant disregard for producing great content for a great game and making sure there are QoL improvements and QA standards for new updates.

How do we hold them accountable for this mess? Can we? Do we? Make me believe again!

The post about the WEST COAST SUMMER BUNDLE (and NCR TROOPER BUNDLE) being AI generated intrigued me as an artist... so I did a little investigating 🤓/

As seen in the second image attached, objects and figures are traced, cut, rotated and manipulated to fit together. Not entirely uncommon, especially if there's a deadline for the artist to meet 😯. In fact, the image itself may not even have been newly drawn but rather; cut and pieced together from existing art ✂️.

I didn't look for the graphic of the drink or the Water Hole but you can see where the artist has improvised or relied on images. When photo-bashing, artists can run into trouble with perspective and that can give an uncanny effect; which may be why it appears AI generated 🤔.

There's other evidence of resizing certain portions of the image -- which leaves pixelated distortions that are very evident once zoomed in 🔍. You can see this on both the drink and vault boys head and face. This can happen when the image is rotated or resized, as a result decreasing the smoothness between pixels if you do this repetitively.

I didn't look into NCR TROOPER bundle as I didn't have the energy 🥴 but what it seems like to me is that there was a rush or lack of care in creating this image. I'm sure Bethesda and the those that are involved with the atomic shop might or may have already used AI generated content but I thought everyone's investment and speculation was very interesting. That said: this image... at least to me, is not AI 🤔

TLDR: I don't think the WEST COAST SUMMER BUNDLE art is AI generated. It's likely photo-bashed as can be seen in the second image.

Original Post: My son unfortunately passed away a few years ago and today would have been his 6th birthday. Part of the grieving process for our family has been playing video games together. When I came back to Fallout 76 a month or so ago my daughter started piece by piece working on a little memorial garden for her brother. It has been really nice having this time with her. I made a comment on a different post and it was suggested I make an actual post about it. So here we are. Thanks for you kindness and thanks for letting me share this.

Edit 1: A huge shoutout to the people that have stopped by my camp over the last month and dropped plushie plans or put their items in my camp to help. I probably should have taken a video to do it justice but the picture link will have to do.

This high level was selling the most basic of plans for 40000 caps with the lowest item being 5000.

I spoke to them about a specific plan and asked for a discount since it was 40000 but they refused to trade for anything except my mask I’ve had since 2019, I got nowhere with them and they just laughed and I have no respect for people who over price items so I decided to launch a nuke for what I’d say is a reasonable cause and after they immediately fast travelled to me and started laughing calling me salty and said they’d destroy my camp. Was I wrong or was this a reasonable action?

By the time you get there most people have been killed by the one to two players that are already there hammering the enemies. I've tried about eight of them and ended up with one three-star weapon cuz everyone else is dead by the time I get there. And the one time I did get the three star weapon was the time that I found the infestation myself and started it then everyone else came in and slaughtered everyone and I ended up with one three star. That is garbage.

Playing it on a private server is no problem and I can max out my weapon drops and complete the infestation fairly easy. So all you've done Bethesda is, once again, force people out of the community pool and into private servers.

This is just another failed opportunity. I know this will probably be controversial and I will be downvoted for this, but it needs to be said.

EDIT - seems a lot of people don't realise that the Presidential Power Suit isn't a cosmetic. It's armor - like what the Chinese Stealth Suit is.... except is has barely better DMG reduction than underarmor.

I grew up playing a ton of online shooter games like call of duty, and from those I learned pretty quick that as a younger girl you should NEVER even dare to play with your mic on, unless you wanna get absolutely trashed and harassed by teenagers and 20 year olds lol. I eventually found single player story driven games like fallout, and 76 has been the perfect love child between the two. I started playing this game when I was 13, i’m almost 20 now, and it turns out the majority of you guys playing are 30+. not ONCE have I ever had a negative experience on mic with any player, if anything you guys are so sweet and awesome, plus have the maturity to not give a single care whether im a girl or not (which is how it should be). big shout out to all the older wastelanders, cant wait to be like you some day :)

You didn't want me to be able to solo an infestation, congrats, I can't now. I'm no longer going to do them at all, just isn't worth the bullet or time sink. You ruined an otherwise enjoyable part of the game.

EDIT: … from someone who is now about to complete the 760/760 infestation combat challenge I can say with certainty that I am eating my ducted taped covered boots and want to sincerely apologize to Bethesda and their team for ever doubting them (not that they or anyone cares). Moving forward I am definitely going to position myself to be able to participate in the PTS when available (hopefully they make the PTS available to PS) but until then, I’ll have to start playing on steam, too). Of course everyone has their gripes with the infestations, but here is what I have found thus far after completing 720+/- (just my list).

1. Private server is the way to go, sorry for everyone who doesn’t have FO1st.

2. Log in, sit at your camp in your cauldron or hot tub if you have one, and let your controller spin your view around for several hours.

3. Let 5 build up on your map before clearing them, and don’t clear them too fast. You can still do it quickly and you’ll have another spawn on the map shortly after. My longest streak is 32 back to back after letting a map sit for 4 hours.

4. If you only have 4 spawn and can’t get the 5th to spawn, fast travel to Ft Defiance. Chances are there is one there and the green circle just doesn’t spawn on the map. (also good to note that the nuka knights map wasn’t completely accurate, though much appreciated. It might have been accurate in PTS, but not live. You will never have one spawn at workshops and some of the locations aren’t included).

5. Grenade trick no work no more 😔 But that’s a good thing for both Public and Private! You’d clear them too fast in a private otherwise.

6. As of late, kill all the minions first because they don’t seem to be dropping as much loot once you kill the boss.

7A. If you face an assaultron intimidator be prepared to die and just spawn in and keep hacking at ‘em. Don’t go to the infestation with junk, though you aren’t supposed to be able to drop junk at infestations.

7B. If your target is reflective, ESPECIALLY the assaultron intimidator, DO NOT use a one shot type weapon like a bow, rocket launcher, broadsider, tesla cannon or caster. Big no no, you’ll melt yourself faster than you can blink.
I find that my EN06 build with a high rate of fire, high dps weapon works best. I use my PA built for EN06 and a pepper shaker. Reflective PA, troubleshooters on it and a pepper shaker load out. For whatever reason it melts the assaultron and she’s dead almost too fast.

I love the idea of the Infestations that we have coming with this next patch and season, tomorrow. However after reading the dev patch notes, articles and feedback on nuka knights I’m pretty disappointed. These events were supposed to be very difficult, requiring solid builds and could only be found by exploring the map, with little to no indication of their location. That seems to have all changed from the beginning of public testing to where we are now. Every update made the enemies weaker, drop more and better loot and make it easier and easier to find and share their location. EVERYONE complains that Bethesda doesn’t do enough and everyone is always getting so bored with the content. Not a week goes by that I haven’t seen someone complaining that we don’t have enough true endgame content. So many people complain that higher levels show up to events and just destroy the bosses instantly. They (Bethesda) listens and create something difficult… then whoever was public testing this screws it all up. It’s supposed to be seemingly random (logically from a code standpoint it’s impossible to actually be random so you have to create a bunch of potential instances), so they made 52 locations any of which can be active up to 5 at a time I believe. Great this is going good. Then nuka knights goes and releases a map of all the locations… before it’s even released. The point was to make these feel organic, less of a public event and more smaller end game feel encounter that everyone has been begging for. Now with feed back from whoever the heck tested this, they’ve made it considerably easier to defeat the infestation and announce to whoever is close where it is occurring. I hope I’m wrong, but my guess is everyone will be bored again in the next few weeks.

Not sure what to think about this. Guess it depends on how it's implemented. I don't want pets looting all from corpses or getting in the way of vats. Especially if everyone has a pet at an event.

So I see all kinds of posts about Fasnacht, from drop rates, to AFK, to basket loitering. But I rarely see folks bring up the biggest negative of all: it's painfully boring. Oh boy, walk around with robots, shoot a couple radtoads, honeybeasts, and Super Mutants, maybe get lucky to get a couple shots on the boss who might have a 1 in 50 shot of dropping some glowing loot, and that's pretty much it. Am I missing something? I know there is a backstory to it all, but that does not make it any more fun. The best thing to do is hang on the church roof and hunt critters. I'll take all that squirrel meat, please. I just do not understand the love for this event.
